Monteney Mail World Book Day Children across school have enjoyed a range of activities linked with the National World Book Day. Each year group looked at a different author and the work produced throughout the week has been fabulous! On World Book Day itself we had some strange looking characte rs floating around school, with both staff and children dressing up in unusual attire; we

had everyone from pirates to bears to zombies to parrots! We really enjoyed seeing so many children and their families participating in the 'shared reading' on Thursday morning and returning for a cuppa, cake and another read in our 'Mad Reader's Tea Party'. The finale of our exciting week was the visit of

author 'Steve Way' who led a great whole school assembly before doing lots of different projects with children across school. Overall, we had a wonderful week and would like to thank staff, children and parents for their enthusiasm and support.

School Footwear Please can we remind parents of the school’s dress code for footwear. Several children have come to school in footwear not following our dress code. The school’s policy states that children should wear appropriate black footwear, such as trainers, flat enclosed shoes (no heeled shoes, flip flop type shoes). Laces in shoes should also be black. Please help us keep standards high at Monteney Thank you.
