P.E. We are still encouraging children to bring their full PE kit each lesson, including PE pumps. If some children’s feet are getting too big for PE pumps, a spare pair of trainers to change into is required to take part in PE. This half term Y5 are lucky enough to be working with ‘Tricky Wingers’ and also learning to fence! A fencing competition will be held and a fencing duel will also be exhibited in our end-of-year exhibition!
Immersive classrooms! As a way to engage the children with our topic, the Y5 classrooms have been transformed into scenes from Macbeth, including castles, witches woods, and even stages to perform on!
Feel free to pop in to look around when you drop off / pick up your children and if you have anything that would help to engage the children’s interest any further please let us know!

Macbeth During last term we had lots of fun finding out about Caribbean and enjoyed learning about this exotic, exciting place. This term we will be looking at Shakespeare and in particular, his play Macbeth! It will involve lots of acting and drama and hopefully produce some great pieces of writing! This is an exciting play full of underlying themes and our driving question for this topic is ‘What are the Exhibition in Y5: To help enhance our learning we are planning to have a ‘walking exhibition’ around our school grounds to showcase all the interesting and exciting projects we will take part in . (Tues 7th July) @2pm)
What can you find out about Shakespeare’s life? What other plays did he write, apart from Macbeth?
Conisburgh Trip As Macbeth is partly set in a castle, we will also be learning more about castles and their features-even building our own out of Mod Roc materials, which you’ll get to see in our end of year exhibition. As part of this learning we will be visiting Conisburgh Castle to experience more closely life inside castle walls! (Thursday 4th June)
