Year 1 News Spring Term 1 Welcome back. We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas Break. This half term our topic is ‘Polar Explorers’. To support this we have created an Arctic/ Antarctic area within the classroom. We will be learning lots of facts about polar animals and the people that live in these regions Within this topic we will be learning all about non-fiction texts and using these books to find out information. If you have any Encyclopae-
dias at home or children’s dictionaries please share these with your child as this will reinforce our learning at school. If you have access to the internet then you can show your child how to find out information that way. Our new role-play area will be based on our Polar Explorers topic. If you have any old or spare hats, coats, gloves, scarves etc. that could be used, please bring them in and they will be greatly appreciated! We will return
your items at the end of the half term.
