Autumn Term 1
Monteney Primary School This is an exciting term for Y3 pupils with the first group of children due to go to Whirlow Hall Farm. The whole school transition project on Narnia started at the end of the summer term and will continue for the first 2 weeks of the Autumn term. This will then lead on to one of the most popular History topics in school–
Ancient Egypt. We will be doing lots of exciting things based on the Ancient Egyptians including: Creating mummies from modrock
Locating Egypt and looking at the route of the River Nile
Egyptian timeline
Studying Egyptian numerals and hieroglyphics
Exploring Ancient Egyptian artefacts and then creating observational drawings And many more interesting things If you have any Egyptian artefacts in your family we would love to look at them or put them on display. Look out for things to research and explore at home linked to our Egypt topic on the Y3 zone of the Monteney Web Site. Feel free to come and spend some time with us in class, you are always welcome.
What you need in Y3 for PE Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school for P.E. They need a plain coloured tshirt and shorts. They also need plimsolls that fit correctly.
