Year 3 News Summer Term
This term we are focussing on
Exhibitions
SPACE!
Thank-you for all the support we had for our Antarctica exhibition. The children loved being able to show off some of their fabulous work. This term we will be working towards a space exhibition and we will let you know in due course when this is scheduled to take place.
We will be doing lots of exciting things based about space including:
Writing poetry to describe the Iron Man Finding facts about the moon landings Making our own rockets Learning about stars and constellations Learning about the space shuttle and space missions Linking our literacy to the film ‘Home’ And many more interesting things!
Look out for things to research and explore at home linked to our space topic. Make sure you check out our Y3 blog and twitter account.
New Y3 Twitter Account It’s great to see some of you following us on twitter. We really recommend you do; we post pictures and details about what we’re getting up to in class and also ideas for home learning!

Assemblies Assembly days for Y3 this term are : Shine Assembly—Friday at 8.55am. We will try to let you know as soon as possible if your child is in Shine Assembly.

PolESTAR PLANETARIUM Will be visiting us in school on Wednesday 6th May. The children will be finding out about our solar system and different star constellations.
YOUR SUPPORT Homework and spellings We are really impressed with how many children are managing to bring in their homework every week. We are now expecting children to complete maths, literacy and spelling homework. Homework will continue to be handed out on Fridays and due in the following week. Attendance Fantastic efforts with punctuality and attendance...well done Y3s!

Calling all creative Y3s Home projects please! We would love your child to have a go at a project at home this half term linked to our topic “space”. Especially if they haven’t already had a go at making or presenting something to show in class since the start of the year. Please encourage your child. Page 2
