Year 4 Class News Spring
Key Skills
Our key skill this half term will be independence. We will be encouraging children to develop their independence skills and grow in confidence. Part of developing their independence will be children completing their weekly homework. Children need to take responsibility for completing this work themselves.
Homework Homework will be sent out again from Friday 12th January and will all be available via google classroom.
We are also really excited about our new Y4 Homework drop in every Monday where children can come and use the learning zone facilities, with an adults, to complete their homework. Children can also use the ICT suite on a Wednesday to complete homework.
Creative curriculum! Our topic this term is the USA. We will be exploring the question ‘ How would life be different if I was born in the USA?. We cant wait to see some of the fantastic learning this half term! We will also be announcing details of our new USA shoe box project over the next few weeks...
Swimming! This half term we are super excited for be starting our swimming lesson at Concord. The swimming lessons are free to children in year 4 and they will be following the National Curriculum programme of study. We will be sending further details out about the swimming sessions next week! Your child will need a towel and a swimming costume. For girls, this will need to be a 1 piece bathing suit, not a tankini or bikini. Boys need to wear trunks or shorts. Surfer shorts or long shorts are not allowed.
