Netbook UI Design
10 Weeks, 3 People, Roles on Research and GUI Design
In this sponsored project, we, the IxD students, cooprated with the industrial design students to help our client, Freescale, to develop the new concept of netbook in emerging market. Differed from the form development of ID team, our focus was to
evolve the initial framework and vision for a new graphical user interface to run on top of an existing operating system (like Linux) that can take advantage of an ARM CPU chipset on something akin to a netbook or a smartbook. Moreover, we explored the tween market (age 11-14) in order to find out more opportunities for the future.

GAG Pricing App Design
10 Weeks, 4 People, Roles on Information Architecture, Wireframe, Concept
The focus of this project was to help the Graphic Artists Guild reframe their business model and generate new revenue through the digital product design. One of the products is Bottom Line. Bottom Line is the artist’s pricing calculator that generates a quote based on current industry standards. Users can generate their price with a basic hourly calculation or a more detailed, project specific calculation. The timesheet function allows users to use a stopwatch-type function to time and track their hours on each project. The aim of this product is to provide freelancers a convenient and professional tool to help them succeed in their business.

This project is to successfully create a family of unified products, defined by the design language of the Bugatti automobile company using an iterative design process. The
design language of a certain product can be applied to seemingly unrelated toiletry through the use of elements such as signature lines, curves, colors, products materials, and intersections/changes in surfaces. 4 weeks, Solo project, All roles

Product Research - Toiletries set
Through understanding the Bugatti brand identity we have learned that their customers are unique individuals with a taste for luxury and desire for speed. This knowledge has simplified the selection of potential products to include in the toiletry set. Through breaking down daily hygeine rituals we compiled a list of the most commonly used male toiletries. Even though a carrying case or some sort of consolidation system is included with the products, five speperate items may be somewhat cumbersome to transport which is why the factor of space economy is also considered.

One of the most obvious and powerful elements in Bugatti design is the two-tone color scheme. The red/black color scheme is the mostvisually intense and easily associated with Bugatti. Other characteristics associated in all of Bugatti’s models are the definition between the fenders and hood, both throguh use of color as well as transition of surfaces.

Water Conservation System
S r a w n b
Sustainable design is not only about recycling or energy saving, but also a way to twist people’s logic. logic When water conservation is not a necessary need for life, it must be show its value by a different way. I know water conservation, but I have a lot of water. I don’t need….
WOW, so water can be used in such a different way. If I can save water….

Apply sustainable and recycled material in manufacturing process. PLA (Polylactic Acid)
Instead of satisfying the basic need for life (drinking, irrigation), the water conservation system should show its value and make people want to access it in an educational way. The goal is to advance the awareness level to action level of water conservation.

Design a flexible water conservation system that can be applied to different areas.
Problem Define
Design Aspect What you see is what you need ! Based on the research phase, we found that people in Pass Christian and Savannah don’t have much awareness and knowledge about water conservation. In order to improve this situation, we would like to design a clear water system in the community that can make people involve in the system. Moreover, by the clear water circulation system, people can be educated the possibility of water usage and conservation.

Design Objective To solve the problem of urban heat island effects To increase the green space in built-up centers To educate the concern of water conservation in public area
Redesign Bus Station According to the study from the University of Manchester, a mere 10 percent increase in the amount of green space in built-up centers would reduce urban surface temperatures by as much as four degrees Celsius. Therefore, this design is to rebuild the bus station to be a water conservation center. The more conserved water we have, the more green space we can get. In order to utilize the water resource effectively, we can collect rain water by the bus station and irrigate the green ground by the water. To complete a water circulation, the rain water can be collected by the leaf shade, go through the pipe, simply clean by the bio-filter, store in the bench, and be used on the irrigation and cooling the heat. People can release the water when they sit on the bench and see how much remains in the tank by the glass window. Also, the bus station provides people an opportunity to get closer with the water conservation system and feel about it.

Trend 1. More than 3.6million people over the age of 65 now live alone. Some rarely leave their homes. 2. The number of men over the age of 65 living on their own has passed one million for the first time. 3. The figure is far higher for women with more than 2.5million female pensioners currently living alone.
By gathering the power of volunteers and NPO, we can provide an environment to restore the life of the elderly living alone.
