Warren Miller himself returns in 67th film ‘Here, There & Everywhere’ shown at ABT on Dec. 2
Warren Miller Entertainment’s sixty-seventh film Here, There & Everywhere comes to Alberta Bair Theater on Friday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. Tim Hedin, owner of SkiBoot Rx, will, once again, emcee the event and announce raffle prize winners. “We are thrilled to return to the screen with the support and inclusion of the patriarch of winter stoke, Warren Miller” said Managing Director Andy Hawk. “This year’s project has been an incredibly rewarding opportunity for the athletes, film crew and staff who were able to work directly with him again.” The 67th installment of iconic winter fun brings the thrill of action snowsports to enthusiasts everywhere, as the world’s most accomplished skiers and snowboarders scour the globe for untracked powder and the pursuit of adventure. Narration by
Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley and on-screen interviews with the legendary Warren Miller deliver the nostalgia of skiing’s roots and a zeal for discovering new terrain. Venture with world-renowned athletes JT Holmes, Jeremy Jones, Seth Wescott, Jess McMillan, Ingrid Backstrom, Marcus Caston, Wendy Fisher, Tyler Ceccanti, Kaylin Richardson and others as they push the boundaries of their talent on snowcapped peaks, vast glaciers and towering, big-air jumps. Globe-trotting from the U.S. and Canadian Rockies to sparsely populated lands like Greenland and the Swiss Alps, these skiers and snowboarders prove that the joy of winter can be found wherever you seek it. Here, There & Everywhere opens the door to showcase a progressive side of snowsports, from fat biking, backcountry snowmobiling and hill-climb racing (featuring Polaris pro Keith Curtis) to dogsledding and the ever crowd-pleasing pond skimming. And, as with every annual tour, the film awakens our desires to hit the slopes and sparks excitement for the coming winter season. This screening of Here, There & Everywhere is sponsored by ClockTower Inn/Stella’s, Uberbrew and The Zone 96.3. Tickets, $14 general admission, are available at the Alberta Bair Theater Box Office on the corner of 3rd Ave N and N Broadway, by phone at 406-256-6052 (box office hours are Monday through Saturday, 12 Noon until 5 p.m. ) and/or online at www. albertabairtheater.org.

You and your children will be dazzled by both the story, told in a children’s theater production, along with a “magical” visit from Santa! This historic train station will be transformed into a winter wonderland where dozens of children in footie jammies will snuggle in on a fuzzy red rug surrounding the stage, where a children’s theatrical production will enthrall everyone with the wonderful story of Jimmy and the gang in the Polar Express. At just the right moment, a magical sound and light show heralds the arrival of Santa on a “magical train” bound for the North Pole! Santa stops at the Billings Depot for a visit, singing Christmas carols and taking professional pictures with each child. Santa even has a present for each kiddo to take home with them! This year, each child will receive a GINGERBREAD TRAIN KIT to take home and make with their family! Each child will also get to participate in a dozen other fun activities including a miniature train ride, hot cocoa, and cookies, making several different crafts, decorating cookies, and “elf dancing”. The cost for all this fun will be $12.95 per adult, $19.95 per child. Everything is included in the ticket price, even the professional photo by Jeff Hosa Photography! Billings Depot, 2310 Montana Ave. 6 p.m. $19.95 Kids, $12.95 Adults DEC. 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, & 18

Community Partners Initiate #ShareTheHappy Campaign In an effort to highlight the positive aspects of our community and region, Billings365. com, the Billings Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Billings Alliance proudly partner with businesses and individuals across the community banding together to #ShareTheHappy. “While looking through my Facebook newsfeed recently, everything just seemed so negative,” explains Jessica Baldwin, owner and founder of Billings365.com and an active leader in the Chamber’s NextGEN group who came up with the idea. “I was feeling disappointed in some of the very real, negative experiences local people were having. I just got to thinking, ‘How could we interject some positivity into the community?’" With the recent influx of the extremely polarized political environment and unfortunate local hate messages, the news feeds have shown a discouraging side of not only our nation, but our community. #ShareTheHappy is a simple effort to flood the local social news feeds with more positivity while also encouraging businesses and individuals across Billings to seek out
simple and meaningful ways to leave a positive, lasting impression on others. Some businesses, like Billings365.com, are paying for coffee or treats to surprise patrons while also leaving them with an additional free coffee or treat to gift to someone else and tag the recipient on social media using #ShareTheHappy. “When Jessica approached us with the idea, we were eager to be part of the effort,” John Brewer, President and CEO of the Chamber shared. “There is so much good in this community and it is important that we all talk about it and celebrate it with each other. These types of efforts are a great example of what sets Billings apart from other communities; why we’re the Best Town in America!” The initiative is explained in depth along with a downloadable #ShareTheHappy card and ideas to get started at www.BillingsChamber.com/ sharethehappy. Billings365, The Billings Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown Billings are participating encourage the community to adopt the concept in their own ways.

The Greater Billings Area
Shaped by the Yellowstone River and sheltered by the Rims, Billings is a regional hub for commerce. Whether you’re looking for bronco busting rodeo action or the relaxation of fishing or hunting, you’ll be in good company around Billings. Watch Montana’s wildlife by grabbing your binoculars and heading to the plains or hiking in the mountains that surround Billings. Use Billings as a central point to the best western attractions, events, hospitality, shopping and cuisine. Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument
Courtesy of www.visitmt.com Located in southeastern Montana, Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument memorializes the site of the Battle of the Little Bighorn which took place on June 25-26, 1876 between the United States Seventh Cavalry Regiment led by Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer, and the Sioux and Cheyenne under the political and spiritual leadership of Sitting Bull. The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument was originally named Custer Battlefield National Monument. President George H.W. Bush renamed the site on December 10, 1991. It is now representative of those who were in the battle, Native Americans and the 7th Cavalry. A visitor center and museum contains exhibits relating to the 1876 Battle of Little Bighorn in which a total of 263 US Cavalrymen, of the regiments 650 men, were
killed in action by Sioux and Northern Cheyenne warriors. Lieutenant Colonel G.A. Custer was killed leading a contingent of 209 men. The Museum features exhibits of the history of the battle, Custer, weapons, archaeology, Plains Indian life, and a walking tour with interpretive markers. It is wheelchair accessible. Adjoining the visitor center is Custer National Cemetery, which includes interments from abandoned frontier military posts, the world wars, Korea and Vietnam. A 4.5 mile self-guiding tour road connects two separate battlefields, the Custer Battlefield and the RenoBenteen Battlefield. Handicapped parking is located at these two locations and at the visitor center. Ranger programs are scheduled throughout the summer, and bus tours of the battlefield operate from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. During the off-season a

Hidden western treasures at the Yellowstone County Museum A hidden treasure western history enthusiasts will delight in discovering, the Yellowstone County Museum has exhibits dedicated to ranch life, homesteading, antique firearms, and one of the largest collections of American Indian artifacts in the region. Charting the New Frontier New as of 2014 is “Charting The New Frontier: An Exhibit of Mapping and Surveying the Yellowstone Valley.” In this exhibit history buffs will find a timeline of maps that date from 1778 to 1927 detailing railroad development, mining, fur trade, settlement and exploration. The maps are printed in a high quality, fine art form by Kim Lugthart of Artful History Reproductions in Missoula, MT. The original maps are on loan from William Cole of Cole Law Firm in Billings. Visitors will also find antique surveying equipment with descriptions on loan from Selby’s in Billings. Cattle Drives of Yesteryear A J.K. Ralston original painting, spanning the breadth of the room, is displayed above the Yellowstone County Museum’s (YCM) authentic chuckwagon exhibit. It is a trueto-life depiction of the valley’s first settlers and the gear they brought west. Short-horned beef cattle were trailed into the Yellowstone
River valley from Idaho and Oregon by Charles Yegen in 1879. Beef cattle production became a linchpin industry in Montana Territory once rail service to Billings opened access to eastern markets. The pilot wagon had to be driven by a seasoned guide, often old trappers, explorers, and men who had been in country and knew the trails. Behind the guide came the chuckwagon, driven by the cook. The cook worked out of a converted freight wagon built to house supplies and kitchen tools. Behind the chuckwagon was the bed wagon, piled high with quilts and treated canvas, the forerunners of today’s camping gear. Then came the bawling, tail-twitching mass driven by outriders. A cattle drive could cover about 5 miles per day. Native American Collection Yellowstone County Museum is the kind of museum that tells the stories of the people and places, tools, art, and triumphs and heartache of the early residents, both Native American and settlers, who populated the Yellowstone Valley. The displays are considered some of best of its kind in the state. The museum enjoys expansive space around the building. The patio affords a spectacular view of the Yellowstone Valley. The museum gift shop is full
of Native American reproductions and books of Yellowstone Valley topics. The Yellowstone County Museum is located in the historic McCormick log cabin at 1950 Terminal Circle. Follow the
roundabout through the airport and loop around. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Learn more at ycmhistory.org or call 406-256`6811. Free admission.
