Holiday ArtWalk “decks the walls” Artwalk Downtown Billings will “deck the walls” of downtown Billings during its Holiday ArtWalk on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5 – 9 p.m.
The Holiday ArtWalk features 31 Season Members. Among them, Toucan Gallery and Terakedis Fine Art and Jewelry Gallery are hosting annual juried, invitational shows entitled “20x20” and “12Squared” respectively. Six One-Time Participants: • Photo Creations Photography, 2816 3rd Avenue North; • Century 21 Hometown Brokers Downtown, 2715 1st Avenue North; • TOGS Studio at 2704 2nd Avenue North; . • Far West Gallery, 2817 Montana Avenue; • Art2905 featuring Mark and Marina Dotson, 2905 Montana Avenue; and • Sherri Cornett Studio, 2720 Minnesota Avenue. Artists making a first ArtWalk appearance include: Scott Hicks at Century 21, Dominique Fritz at Jake's, Molly Dennis at Well-Pared, Dave Shumway's photography students from Rocky Mountain College at This House of Books, Susan Witchy and Melissa Smith at Barjon's, Mark and Marina Dotson at Art2905 (Montana Avenue), Lacie Tucker at Liberty and Vine Country Store and Gary Slane at Cushing Terrill (formerly CTA).
ArtWalk is free. Gallery notes, images and a mobile-friendly, downloadable map are at www.artwalkbillings.com. Like us on Facebook @billingsartwalk. Many locations offer music and refreshments. On-street metered parking is free after 5 p.m. Parking garage rates vary. The Skypoint Loop 25th Anniversary ArtWalk gift basket will be on view at Aspinwall, 104 North Broadway. Each Skypoint Loop location will have free raffle tickets. The winner's name and photo is posted on Facebook@ billingsartwalk after the event. For 25 years, ArtWalk Downtown Billings has promoted artists, skilled artisans, studios and fine art galleries in downtown Billings. ArtWalk began with a handful of galleries in 1994; it has grown into a “not-to-miss” event that engages artists of all ages, patrons, visitors, friends, and families six times each year. ArtWalks are organized and paid for by Season Members, One-Time Participants and Sponsors. Some Season Members have been with the ArtWalk since its beginning. Newer Season Members and One-Time Participants recognize ArtWalk's value to their respective organizations, the downtown arts and business community and the city as a whole. Uptown Loop First Congregational Church UCC 310 North 27th Street, welcomes photographer Cheryl Hudson for a return appearance. Hudson’s images evoke a sense of peace, wonder, and amusement.
Global Village 2720 3rd Avenue North, presents an exhibit by Carlin Bear Don’t Walk. Entitled “The Sun that Never Sets.” the vivid, colorful works evoke an emotional response and incorporate culturally rich Crow and Northern Cheyenne stories.
This House of Books 224 North Broadway, welcomes Dave Shumway’s photography students from Rocky Mountain College. Their exhibit includes images on metal created by 24
February 1, 2019 April 5, 2019 June 7, 2019 August 2, 2019 October 4, 2019 December 6, 2019 students enrolled in a Nature Photography class.

Cascading Color Studio 2814 3rd Avenue North, is the gallery of artist Nyd Kraushaar. St. Vincent DePaul joins Nyd to sell a small number of limited edition prints by James Bama, Robert Bateman and others (at very reasonable prices).
Barjon’s 223 North 29th Street, showcases funky sculptures created from found, repurposed objects by Susan Witchy and archetypeinspired paintings by Melissa Smith. Live music plus a special visit from Father Christmas.
Skypoint Loop Kennedy’s Stained Glass 2923 2nd Avenue North, Billings’ premier stained glass studio, has filled its space with lovely holiday ornaments and exquisite splash bars. Yellowstone Repertory Theatre members sing Christmas carols at Kennedy’s before traveling to other ArtWalk locations.
Sandstone Gallery 2913 2nd Avenue North, features new watercolors and ceramics by Donna Moore and Jennifer Baretta respectively. The Golden Camera Award will go to one of twenty photographers whose work was selected for display by Billings’ two camera clubs.
Stephen Haraden Studio and Gallery 2911 2nd Ave. No. #235, has delightful nudes, large and small, for your holiday gifting. Small paintings make great stocking stuffers. Larger pieces create intrigue
under the tree. Stephen will be on hand to help you find just what you need.
A&E, 124 North 29th Street, welcomes BunnyK (Rylie Kaiser). Her colorful paintings exude the excitement and energy often found in mere moments. The paintings embody BunnyK’s personal struggles with cancer and her resilient, survivor spirit.

Aspinwall, 103 North Broadway, welcomes returning artists/ photographers, Trevan Hiersche and Sean McCotter. Their photography reflects a shared passion for the outdoors and the panoramic vistas found across Montana and the Rocky Mountain region.
Free Spirit Rock School Band, 109 North Broadway, plays popular and jazzy Christmas tunes at Hooligans.
Stapleton Gallery 104 North Broadway 2nd floor, presents “Move the Needle, Volume 1”, a collision of visual art and music. Join the celebration that marks the launch of Stapleton Records.
Bishops Cuts/Color 108 North Broadway, hosts Nick White, of Bad Canyon Designs. Nick unveils his “Bootlegger” series, a modern take on the Art Deco era, created around the “Roaring 20s” theme of Bishop’s anniversary.
Terakedis Fine Art and Jewelry Gallery 112 North Broadway, presents “12Squared,” its annual juried Holiday ArtWalk show. In its second year, the exhibit invites visitors to vote for “Patron’s Choice Award.”
Sculptures Under Skypoint is a collection of three public art pieces created by Billings artists Bryan Keith Scott, Sherri Cornett, and Jennifer Tolton. A fourth sculpture will be added to the group in 2020.

Century 21 Hometown Brokers 2715 - 1st Avenue North, hosts Scott Hicks for his ArtWalk debut. Specializing in oils, Scott’s most recognized painting is “Old Cobb Field.”
Well Pared Juice Bar and Eatery
2710 2nd Avenue North, is the working studio/gallery of Tyler Murphy. The gallery features young, dynamic artists who explore new, contemporary ways to express western landscapes and icons.
2710 First Avenue North, welcomes Molly Dennis and her mandalas and pencil drawings. Janette McGovern’s “Be Inspired” pop-up store moves to Well-Pared for Holiday ArtWalk, offering original art, home, and gift items and jewelry.

2704 2nd Avenue North, features Megan Fetters and Ruby Hahn who’ve taken on the task of depicting historic and western towns in the abstract. Both emerging artists, they are returning to ArtWalk with brand new pieces.

2817 Montana Avenue, hosts Leland W. Stewart (Crow). Stewart who is known for his abstract figures that recall pre-reservation days. He draws inspiration from his Crow elders who worked with hide, feathers, bones, and beads to create art pieces that moved and danced.
Western Heritage Center 2822 Montana Avenue, welcomes Tatiana Gant, Montana Arts Council Director, its staff and Board of Directors from 5 – 7 p.m. Through exhibits “Hazel Hunkins: Billings Suffragist,” “Thrift Art” and “Vietnam Voices,” you’ll experience the struggle for women’s voting rights, marvel at thrift store art, and better understand the Vietnam War.
Art 2905 2905 Montana Avenue, is the “pop-up” location for artists, Mark Dotson, formerly of Billings, and Marina Dotson. The couple live in Russia. Marina, an academic artist, specializes in portraiture. They’ll be at Art 2905 from December 6 – 13th.
Kirks Grocery 2920 Minnesota Avenue, presents Jane Deschner’s exhibit, “Found.” It explores family and community using vintage photographs and snapshots, thrift store doilies, jewelry, and other repurposed items.
Sherri Cornett Studio 2720 Minnesota Avenue, wants you to share memories and thoughts about home in two evolving community
art installations: “What [(is it) About My] Memory” and “Home Grove.” Conversation is encouraged; seasonal refreshments and holiday cheer served.
Dickey’s BBQ 2519 Montana Avenue, welcomes returning artist Britney Patek. Currently, Britney is completing a graphic design internship through MSU-Billings and teaching classes at Q’s Art and Framing.

13 North 23rd Street, hosts photographer Gary Slane. Gary discovered his passion for photography while working on his high school yearbook. Now he explores Montana’s wild places in search of nature and wildlife images.
McCormick Cafe 2419 Montana Avenue, hosts artist, Justin Dowler, who is best known for his abstract, colorful horses that seem to gallop off the canvas. Allison Martin will be on hand with her artisan jewelry.
2019 Montana Avenue, welcomes Lacie Tucker, visual artist, and Billings art educator. She showcases large scale, hard edge landscape paintings from her current studio practice, prints, and natural stone jewelry.

Audubon Center & Outdoor Exploration
The Montana Audubon Center, adjacent to Billings and on the Yellowstone River, is a great place for walking, trail running, nature-watching, and learning about the plants and animals of the area. The site is located on the Riverfront Park portion of the Heritage/Dutcher Trail system. Its fifty-four acres of managed habitat contain three miles of accessible trails and three ponds as well as a variety of native plants, most of which have been planted as part of its 20-year restoration process from a gravel mine. One popular feature of the site is the Shepard Nature Playspace, Billings’ first and only Nature Playground, where kids are free to balance on logs, dig in the dirt, and build forts with our supply of sticks. A series of demonstration gardens near the building, including the Helen Carlson Cummins Bird Garden, are also an opportunity for learning about native plants and birds. Because of both wildlife and year-round education programs on site, visitors are asked not to bring pets. The public is welcome from sunup to sundown every day. There’s ample parking and easy on-off access to Interstate 90. On the immediate site and adjacent Norm’s Island and Riverfront Parks, staff at the Center offer a variety of public and private programs for exploring and learning about the natural world. Our on-site Fledglings Nature Preschool and Nature Nuts programs are designed for the under-5 set. Family and adult programs are held multiple times each month are are low-cost or free for members. Montana Audubon Adventure Camps provide week-long day camp fun each summer, and we host nearly 100 classrooms each school year for field trips. We also offer Homeschool Science classes, themed birthday parties, and private events through the year.
