Matters Arising Wendover Parish Council Page
View from the Chair
Where else but as a Parish Councillor can you get such a variety of opportunities to improve our community. We’re still prodding away at HS2 and I’ve had a meeting with Wendover Library to see how we can help them with a bid to fund an extension that will ensure that this much loved community resource remains relevant into the future. The WPC has, with parishioners, instigated three new working groups to investigate how the community, through working with other authorities and partners, can develop solutions to problems that we share. One is to consider play provision, open spaces and the skate park. Another is to look at the Bypass noise and to evaluate whether a 20 MPH speed limit would work for Wendover. The third group stems from the work that WPC did with the village Wardens during lockdown. We discovered that while there is a wide range of support available to those that need it, accessing it is more difficult than it should be. This working group is to look at whether a community led resource could make the process easier. So, there is something for everyone on the cards heading into the winter. Tom Walsh

2021 – Wendover Parking Review Consultation
The pandemic has impacted on all our lives, businesses and working arrangements. This includes the Wendover Parking review which was postponed during March until the team met again on Wednesday 9 September. Taking a positive view, whatever happens with the pandemic going forward, we now have the services in place to ensure the review will continue throughout 2021!
Wendover Produce Market Saturday 21 November, 9am to 1pm Manor Waste concerns are expressive and will enable the team to make pragmatic decisions on which roads should be included. If you have identified a road, please gain the support of your neighbours and wider residents. This increases the credibility of your claim and presents the views of the street which will not be ignored! The consultation period runs from 1 to 30 November and your responses can be emailed to the Clerk at: clerk@ wendover-pc.gov.uk or posted through the letter box at the Clock Tower.
Initial proposals have been made based on known areas of concern around the village and these can be viewed by following this link to our website: www.wendover-pc.gov. uk/parking-consultation. Without doubt, there will be areas not identified and that is where we need your engagement. Please take this opportunity to review the current proposals, comment on them and provide feedback on areas of concern not identified. For the consultation to be productive, whilst individual views are important, collective
It should be noted this is the initial consultation. Over the coming months we will undertake further direct consultations to confirm residents’ proposals. Once we have this information, we will make a formal legal advertisement in the local press and request feedback. The necessary legal orders can then be made, and the new parking lines and signs will be completed in the latter part of 2021. This is your opportunity to assist in addressing the parking concerns around Wendover and your input will be greatly appreciated.
