Weston Turville Parish Council

Mark Bayliss

I have lived in the parish at Hampden Hall with my family for 3 years. I have a passion for mountain biking and enjoy the excellent mountain bike terrain locally. I work as a senior safety manager for a construction company. I joined the Parish Council 18 months ago, following the resignation of the previous councillor from Hampden Hall as I was looking at ways to get more involved with the local community. mbayliss@westonturville-pc.gov.uk

Rachel Blackmore

I am Rachel Blackmore and pleased to be joining Weston Turville Parish Council. We've lived in the village for 24 years and I have been involved in various groups in the parish, including running the Youth Café. I'm looking forward to being able to contribute to the Parish Council’s work making Weston Turville a great place to live. rblackmore@westonturville-pc.gov.uk

Michael Conolly

I have been on the parish council since 2013. Three matters concern me. Extensive building will envelope the parish, increasing it from about 3,000 people to over 13,000. The implications for our community are considerable, an issue being ignored, because of the democratic weakness of local government. Secondly, the village’s east side has no public transport. There is a simple solution also being ignored. Lastly, many older people live here. We need well-shod, serviceable footpaths. mconolly@westonturville-pc.gov.uk

Martin Jarvis

I have lived in our Parish since 2008 and prior to that on Bedgrove I enjoy being involved with community groups, I joined Weston Turville Parish Council where after serving on several committees I became chairman in 2013. I enjoy my role and hopefully ensure our meetings (which can be formal) have a lighter side and make sure that our councillors and residents are able to speak and get across their views. mjarvis@westonturville-pc.gov.uk

Jim Paterson

I moved to Weston Turville in February 1984. I was a Traffic Officer and vehicle examiner. I am from Morayshire, I joined Buckinghamshire Constabulary in 1959, retiring in October 2001. Early 2009 I was “volunteered” to chair the Community Led Plan Steering Group, resulting in the publication of The Parish Plan. In 2014 I was co-opted as a Parish Councillor. My responsibilities are: speeding matters, roads and footpaths. jpaterson@westonturville-pc.gov.uk

Mandi Simons

I have lived in the village since 1984. My community activities started after I retired in 2010 and when I decided to immerse myself in village life. I now volunteer in several community organisations including the Parish Council, which I have been vice chair of since 2013. My main interest is in ensuring that this lovely place in which we live will give pleasure and enjoyment to future residents and not become a dormitory settlement of Aylesbury. msimons@westonturville-pc.gov.uk

Catherine Terry

I have lived in Weston Turville since 1982. My son went to the village school and then John Colet School. I have served on the Parish Council for over 10 years and I particularly look forward to the bulb and tree planting that we undertake during the autumn. I enjoy being on the Parish Council and hope that the work we do helps to make the village a great place to live for all residents. cterry@westonturville-pc.gov.uk

Val Trowell

I have lived in the parish for many years and became a councillor after raising some concerns specific to Wendover Road. I am a retired teacher and taught in a secondary school in Aylesbury. I was rather sceptical regarding local government, however since joining WTPC and gaining first hand experience of the knowledge and dedication of the councillors and clerk, my unfair negativity has become one of positivity. I look forward to continuing as a councillor. vtrowell@westonturville-pc.gov.uk

Martin Watson

I have been a resident of Weston Turville since 2013, 2 adult children although one is currently back home for work. Dog lover – lost our 14 y/o Lab in January and have been, so far unsuccessfully, seeking a replacement ever since. A lifelong aviation enthusiast, a (fine weather) cyclist and passionate anti-litterer with a deep cynicism of the (all too frequent in-) actions of the upper echelons of our local Government. mwatson@westonturville-pc.gov.uk
