Wendover Parish Council Matters Arising

View from the Chair

This month there are a number of updates from the Parish Council. The cycle path improvements, led by Buckinghamshire Council and part funded by HS2, are well underway with the sections from Worlds End Lane to Grenville Avenue completed to the required width of 3m and finished in a lovely smooth tarmac. Other parts will be completed in April so I look forward to seeing more cyclists using it.

Also moving to the next stage is the Parking Review which should be going into the Statutory Consultation in March with the view to getting works completed in the next financial year. Please do respond, especially if you are a resident on the roads specified as it is a numbers issue.

At the start of February there was a meeting with Bucks Council Local Area Technician about the highways trees which should be planted by the end of February. Those adjacent to the new cycle path have been delayed until that has been finished but should be imminent.

On the 20mph zone and traffic calming, conversations have revealed that to put anything in on South St would require the removal of the current parking bays, something that would not be considered at the moment. The WPC are looking to buy two speed indicator device (SID) cameras which record the speed and number of cars passing which will give data on the times when speeding occurs. These can be moved to problem areas so that issues can be monitored. Thames Valley Police have cleared an area along the bypass so that mobile speed vans can be deployed to help reduce speeding.

That’s all for now, enjoy the daffodils!
