HS2 Construction Update

Over the next few months we have planned works around the A413. As part of our strategy to reduce construction traffic on the A413, EKFB will be constructing a temporary conveyor system to move excavated materials across London Road.

We anticipate the conveyor to move the equivalent of up to 32,000 articulated dump truck journeys worth of materials. Using a conveyor system will help enable the works for the Small Dean Viaduct structure that will span the A413 and for the re-alignment works which are due to start later in the year.

The conveyor itself will sit 6m in height, with green panelling to help blend into the tree line. It will be fully covered so will not be visible from the ground, and only operational during core working hours.

In order to carry out the installation, there will be times where we need to install trafficmanagement with some short duration road closures, as wecreate a break from highway for access off the A413 and when we lift the conveyor into position.

We aim to be operational from Summer 2022 and for the conveyor to be in use for approximately two years.

To find out more detail about these works, we have prepared an advanced works notice which you can find on the in your area section on the HS2 website www.hs2inbucksandox.co.uk.
