Another field fire

Many thanks to Gordon Findlay for his photo showing the devastation of fields in Hale Lane caused by a fire on Saturday 13 August. Thanks to the heroic efforts of local firefighters and farmers, local homes, livestock and Wendover Woods were all unharmed. Thank you to everyone who helped. This local difficulty followed on from a field fire at Butlers Cross on Monday 8 August and a continuing water leak at Nash Lee Lane. Thames Water are aware of the latter but at the time of going to press have not fixed it.

Wendover Scarecrow Trail

Don't forget Wendover Scarecrow Trail is 8am 19 September to 8pm 3 October. Now in its third year, the Wendover Scarecrow Trail has always engaged people of all ages. We are so grateful to Alison who worked so hard to launch this great event which helped us through the first and second lockdown summers. To enter, pick up a booking form (£5 admin fee) from the Rennie Grove Hospice Shop at 5 High Street, Wendover, HP22 6DU. To follow the trail, pick up a map and form (£3) to guess the scarecrows from the Rennie Grove Shop closer to the time. For queries email scarecrowtrailwendover@gmail.com.
