Pivotal scenes were filmed in the Victorian Mansion at Bletchley Park, where The Imitation Game Exhibition gives a peek behind the scenes of the movie with props, costumes and exclusive interviews. Oxfam’s Herts Hike 24th September An event for people to enjoy our beautiful countryside while giving to others less fortunate by donating to an Oxfam project. Walkers have a choice of 3, 5, 8, 14 or 20 mile routes. The 3 and 5 mile walks take place in Heartwood Forest and the longer walks are circular routes taking in villages further north such as Wheathampstead, Ayot St Lawrence and Kimpton. National Teen Trust St Albans parents Patricia Seabright, Kerry Cobb and Wendy Powell formed the National Teen Trust for parents of teens and tweens in Hertfordshire, run like the NCT, offering a network of support, advice and the latest psycho-educational theories. Times have changed and parents now need more skills to support our tweens and teens. With reports that young people have increasing mental health issues, the time has come to do what’s not been done before – a training manual for parents – a teen building kit! We’re not alone in the problems we face, so NTT offers and tests practical theories in a warm, safe, fun environment. Courses so far have received positive feedback and have proved enlightening! One participant said: “Recently, I attended a parenting course with the NTT - it was a course like no other.... I finally realised I am not alone!! It was good knowing that other parents go through similar issues to mine. It was the first time I started to understand what is going on in the teens’ brain.... it's like a messy bedroom. Kerry explained it beautifully. It was a great day, I met some fantastic mums - I highly recommend it if you're interested in having a happy home life” Kerry, an NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) practitioner and former drama teacher, says “I noticed during the transition from primary to secondary school that I needed help with the change from parenting a child to parenting a tween and didn’t want to sit in a draughty hall thinking I’d done something wrong. I’ve studied brain development and communication theories and now share how extra tools in our kit can help our relationships.”
