As you begin the process of forming a group (or thinking about it), you may not be able to Imagine how it will all come together. We understand. As our theme verse (Ephesians 3:20) says, “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!” That’s true for the women who will come to the event as part of your group, as well. They may not even know what they need, but God does. We believe God will bring to mind women you can invite to join you. Thank you so much for partnering with us. Spread the Word Tell everyone—you never know who may be interested or know someone else who is. Think outside the box: use announcements, email, Facebook, skits, posters, newsletter articles, your blog…use your imagination and have fun. • Tell everyone you know, even men—they may know someone who’d be interested. • Show the Preview Video every chance you get. • Think outside your normal group “box”—invite women from your office, hair salon, gym, day care…
• Challenge women to bring a friend as an outreach opportunity and a way to grow your ministry. Women of Faith events are a fun, easy way to introduce someone to the message of God’s love and grace. • Hang posters (inside the stalls of the women’s restroom, maybe?), pass out flyers, and place announcements in newsletters and worship folders. • Do you blog? Tell about your group there—and don’t forget to provide contact information. • Enlist others to help spread the word; word of mouth is your best advertisement. • Make a note: The Official Women of Faith Sunday is November 15, 2009. Cast a vision for what women can expect at a Women of Faith event. Capture their imaginations and get them excited about the possibilities. Preview Video Think of the Imagine Preview Video as a movie trailer—it gives people a feel for what the event will be like in person. Plus, it’s fun to watch! Show it anywhere you can—in your church service, at your Bible study, women’s ministry group meeting…it’s a terrific sales tool. Real Life Stories
A heartfelt testimonial from someone who has been to a Women of Faith event is a great way to persuade others they need to come. Be sure to have them include where and when group members can sign up. Printed Pieces Group Flyer/Poster: You can customize them by adding your name, contact information, and group price. Half Page B&W Flyer: An inexpensive way to promote the event; makes a great program insert, bag stuffer, or handout.
Signing Up Group Members Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to come out and ask, “Would you like to join our group? I can sign you up right now.” At the same time, that is the most important thing you can do when talking to a potential group member. Many times they are just waiting for you to ask. • Be prepared: have sign–up sheets (available online) for them to fill out or a notepad ready to take down their information. • If you register with our GPS system (see next page), you can send group members to GPS.womenoffaith.com to sign up with your group online. • Many Group Leaders set up payment plans for their members. That’s up to you—but we do recommend asking for a small security deposit to confirm their commitment. • Be sure to touch base with your group members occasionally so they remember when payment is due and the date of the event.
