PRESIDENT’S Report

Dear Members,

As we transition into the latter half of the year, I am excited to reflect on our club’s significant achievements and look forward to the promising developments ahead.

Firstly, I am thrilled to announce that Wenty Leagues was nominated for three awards at the Clubs and Community Awards. Whilst we didn’t walk away with any awards, the event was a testament to the incredible work and dedication of our team, but also the commitment to community within Cumberland Local Government Area. The night also highlighted the pivotal impact the club industry has on local communities across our state.

Alan

Additionally, our participation in Clubs NSW Perfect Plate competition has been another tremendous success. I’d like to thank all our teams from the Chefs designing the dish, to our Marketing team and of course our Food & Beverage team for all of your efforts in this campaign. We are deeply grateful for the enthusiastic support from our members who tried and voted for our dishes in this competition. Wenty Leagues finished 3rd in our region for our main dish - Beef Short Rib. Your involvement and votes have been invaluable in seeing us grow from strength to strength in this competition, and we appreciate your continued support.

Magpie Family Fun day was held on 7th July at Ringrose Oval. The weather held up just enough to see strong crowds and many families enjoying the day, whilst cheering on the Wenty Magpies. We saw strong wins for all three grades playing on the day, with the Harvey Norman Women’s, Sydney Shield and Ron Massey Cup teams all recording big victories on the day.

In terms of our business developments, I am pleased to report that Wenty Leagues continues to maintain a strong financial position. This stability allows us to confidently move forward with our renovation project aimed at evolving your Entertainment Hub. Our goal is to enhance the club experience for all our members and provide a state-of-the-art facility for entertainment and community gatherings.

Moreover, it is essential to acknowledge the Fair Work Commission’s wage increase. We have applied this increase to our dedicated staff, demonstrating our commitment to supporting our team amidst the rising cost of living. Our staff are the backbone of Wenty Leagues, and their hard work and dedication are what make our club a standout venue.

We also want to take this opportunity to encourage all members to visit the club and experience all we have to offer. Whether it’s enjoying a delicious meal, attending one of our exciting shows, or participating in our diverse activities, there is something for everyone at Wenty Leagues. Your presence and participation helps us continue to create a vibrant and engaging club for you to enjoy.

As we look to the future, we are filled with optimism and excitement. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to Wenty Leagues. We look forward to creating more memorable moments with you and continuing to build on our successes.

Warm regards,

CEO’S Report

Dear Members,

Welcome to our latest journal. I begin my report by updating members that on 1st July this year, clubs with gaming machines were required to implement new measures as part of the Gaming Machines and Liquor Amendment Regulations 2024. Those requirements included the introduction of Responsible Gaming Officers (RGO’s) to our gaming floor at all times whilst our gaming machines operate, as well as the introduction and review of a venue Gambling Incident Register, and Gaming Plan of Management. All of these measures are introduced with the aim of assisting venues to further identify, record, and document any instances of potential or actual gambling harm identified within our venue.

Wenty Leagues Club are a founding member of the Betsafe Responsible Gambling Program and have always taken the approach to responsible gambling

very seriously. We have adopted these additional measures with a philosophy that if we can further assist anyone at risk, or experiencing gambling harm, we now have further proactive measures in place to assist any patron.

From time to time, my team may check in with you whilst you visit with us, but equally, please feel free to speak to any of our responsible gambling officers or staff on shift should you need any further information or guidance. These conversations can be completely private and confidential and again, they are there to assist anyone experiencing any type of gambling harm.

As we continue to strive for excellence across all that we do at Wenty Leagues, our focus remains on enhancing the member experience through diverse and engaging events. From entertainment to dining, our goal is to offer something for everyone. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere where members can relax, enjoy, and create lasting memories. Our commitment to quality and innovation drives us to continually improve and expand our offerings, ensuring there is always something new and exciting happening at the club.

Looking toward the coming months, we look forward to welcoming families to celebrate Father’s Day with us. This year, we will be hosting a buffet breakfast in The Plaza, along with live entertainment and Father’s Day raffles to secure any last minute gifts, we are providing a wonderful opportunity for families to gather and celebrate the special men in their lives.

Our younger patrons will be able to enjoy the fun and excitement of the holidays this October as we have an array of school holiday activities lined up, including a Science Camp and a Magic Show. These events are designed to engage and entertain children, providing them with memorable experiences during their school break. Be sure to check out pages 24 and 25 for a full list of activities and details.

For our sports enthusiasts, we encourage you to come to the club to and gear up to catch all the Footy Finals action. Our venue will be the perfect place to enjoy great food and great company as you cheer on your favourite team.

Looking further ahead, please mark your calendars for our Carols on Ringrose event on December 10th. This festive celebration is a highlight of our year, bringing the community together to enjoy the holiday spirit with beautiful carols and a joyful atmosphere.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at Wenty Leagues, enjoying all the wonderful activities and events we have planned. Your participation and enthusiasm are what make our club a special place, and your home away from home.

Emergency Services Day a Hit at Wenty Leagues Club

Under our community banner, Heart of Wenty, we hosted our first Emergency Services Day earlier this year.

The event aimed to encourage closer ties between local emergency services and the community, while also providing valuable educational opportunities for all attendees. The event saw a gathering of various local emergency services, including St Johns Ambulance, State Emergency Services (SES), and NSW Fire and Rescue. Each organisation had its own interactive stations and demonstrations, drawing crowds of curious onlookers of all ages.

St Johns Ambulance held live demonstrations of crucial medical procedures such as CPR and basic first aid. Volunteers enthusiastically engaged with attendees, ensuring that everyone, from children to adults, had a chance to learn life-saving skills firsthand.

Meanwhile, the SES and NSW Fire and Rescue delighted younger visitors with displays of their impressive vehicles. Children eagerly explored fire trucks and SES response vehicles, guided by personnel who explained the functions and equipment on board. “Paddy Platypus,” the beloved mascot of SES, made appearances throughout the day, charming attendees and posing for photos.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, activities such as face painting and balloon twisting proved to be a hit among families. All proceeds from these activities were generously donated to the Holroyd SES, supporting their ongoing efforts in the community.

Events like these not only showcase the incredible work our emergency services complete, but also provide a fun and educational experience for everyone involved.

Walking in Their Shoes

Wenty Leagues proudly participated in Parramatta Mission’s impactful 2nd Annual Rich Person Poor Person Dinner, held at the Parramatta Mission dining hall. This unique event aimed to foster empathy and awareness about homelessness, emphasising that it is not always a choice.

The evening was designed to give guests a firsthand experience of the challenges faced by different socioeconomic groups in our community. Each attendee drew a ball upon arrival, determining whether they would dine as ‘rich’ (Gold Ball) or ‘poor’ (White Ball). Only 15 fortunate guests received a gold ball, treated to a luxurious three-course meal. Meanwhile, the remaining guests, symbolised by the white ball, were served a simple yet nourishing meal of pumpkin soup and a bread roll.

We were honoured to once again be the diamond sponsor for this significant event and contributed by providing table settings for the ‘rich’ tables and meals for all attendees. Our Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef dedicated their expertise to preparing and cooking each meal, ensuring that every guest had a memorable dining experience.

The dinner not only raised awareness, but also generated vital funds to support Parramatta Mission’s efforts in providing essential services to those experiencing homelessness and hardship in the local area.

Parramatta Mission’s Meals Plus Service

Our partnership with Parramatta Mission continued, with a dedicated team from Wenty participating in Parramatta Mission’s renowned Meals Plus service, demonstrating our commitment to community welfare.

The initiative saw staff members step up to prepare and serve lunch to individuals facing challenging times within our community. This collaborative effort highlighted the ongoing commitment of both organisations to address the needs of homelessness and other vulnerable members of our community and showcased the dedication of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to make a difference every day.

Parramatta Mission’s Meals Plus service has long been a pillar in providing essential meals and support services to those experiencing hardship in our local community. The initiative was able to shine the spotlight on the amazing work that the staff and volunteers deliver on a daily basis, and we couldn’t be prouder of the continued support we are able to provide the team at Parramatta Mission.

Clubs and Community Awards 2024

The 2024 ClubsNSW Clubs and Community Awards celebrated the remarkable efforts of registered clubs in making a positive impact across New South Wales. Wenty Leagues proudly participated in this prestigious event, receiving nominations in the categories of Arts Culture & Entertainment, Social Inclusion and Health Care.

While we did not secure a win this time, we were grateful to be acknowledged amongst outstanding colleagues in the industry and give our congratulations to all winners. Each winner was recognised for their outstanding contributions and commitment to improving the lives of others within their communities.

Thanks also goes to ClubsNSW for organising a remarkable event that celebrates the impactful work of clubs across NSW.

Cupcakes for Cancer

Wenty Leagues proudly participated in ‘Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’, rallying support and raising crucial funds for Cancer Council Australia. The event was a resounding success thanks to the generous contributions from members, guests, and staff.

A highlight of the morning was the donation of cupcakes by our supplier, Abe and Gezelle Patisserie. Their contribution ensured that every dollar from cupcake sales went directly to the Cancer Council, supporting their ongoing research programs.

The community spirit was truly alive as Wenty Members and guests enthusiastically purchased cupcakes, participated in raffles, and generously contributed to donation boxes. Together, their collective efforts resulted in a total of $782.15 raised for the Cancer Council.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to all who supported our ‘Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’ event. The generosity of our members, guests, and staff will go towards supporting cancer research, prevention, and support services for those affected by cancer.

Charity Bowls Day

Despite challenging weather conditions, staff representatives showed their unwavering support for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia at a Charity Bowls Day held at Club Merrylands Bowling Group.

The day started with enthusiasm as teams geared up for a day of friendly competition on the bowling green. However, the weather had other plans, and the event was moved indoors after a few ends due to rain. Undeterred, participants shifted gears and engaged in a lively session of Bingo. Raffles, fundraising balloons, and live auctions added to the excitement, all contributing to the fundraising efforts for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia.

In a remarkable show of solidarity, the Charity Bowls Day raised an impressive $20,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia. These funds will directly benefit the Foundation’s programs aimed at brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families across Australia.

Serving Heartwarming Meal at Ronald McDonald House

A select group from Wenty Leagues had the privilege of participating in the ‘Meals from the Heart’ initiative at Ronald McDonald House, Greater Western Sydney in Westmead. This initiative aims to provide comfort and support to families during challenging times.

Residents of the house were treated to a delightful Italian feast, expertly prepared by our talented chefs in addition to delicious desserts generously donated by Bad Boy Bakehouse adding a sweet touch to the meal.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth and gratitude as families enjoyed a meal together, momentarily escaping the difficulties they face. Our team had a truly rewarding experience being able to contribute in this meaningful way. It is a small gesture, but we hope it brought some joy to the families staying at Ronald McDonald House. The charity provides a vital sanctuary for families with seriously ill children, offering accommodation and support services during their hospital stays.

The New Super Tee is OUT OF THIS WORLD

Our team were honoured to participate in the unveiling of SuperTee’s latest innovation aimed at bringing joy and adventure to sick children. The launch event introduced the all-new “Space Commander” design of medical garments.

The innovative “Space Commander” design is not just a shirt, but a gateway to a world of imagination for young patients. Each garment comes with accessories that transform a hospital bed into a spaceship, enabling children to embark on thrilling adventures right from their hospital rooms. This imaginative approach aims to uplift spirits and provide a positive distraction during challenging times.

We were delighted to provide the space for the photoshoot of the new design, in our Wenty Events functions space, in the preparation of the unveiling on the new design.

Kicking Goals with Magpie Family Fun Day

The rain cleared for a fun day at Ringrose Oval, as Wenty Leagues had the pleasure of hosting the annual Magpie Family Fun Day. The annual event brings together families, friends, and our local community for a day filled with joy and excitement.

Three games of Footy were the highlight of the day, with the Wenty Magpies securing victory in all games on their home turf. As families cheered on their team, they were treated to a range of family fun activities!

The face painting station was a popular spot, transforming children (and some adults) into a colourful array of unicorns, superheroes and of course there was a magpie or two.

Rides and dodgem cars brought another fun element to the day, as energetic breakdancers captivated the crowds with their impressive moves and gravitydefying stunts. The petting zoo provided a hands-on experience where children could interact with a variety of friendly animals, from fluffy rabbits to curious goats.

Beyond the fun and games, the day had a deeper purpose that highlighted the generosity and community spirit of our attendees. Thanks to the efforts and contributions of everyone present, we were able to raise much needed funds for the Children’s Cancer Institute. This underscores the caring and supportive nature of our community, coming together to make a difference in the lives of children and families facing challenging circumstances.

Thank you to our incredible community, members, and everyone who participated, making this day one to remember. We look forward to seeing you all again next year for another unforgettable Magpie Family Fun Day!

Thank you, to all who attended, for helping us successfully raise an outstanding $1,534.65 for the Children’s Cancer Institute.

Celebrating 45 Years of Dedication at Wenty Leagues!

We are thrilled to acknowledge a remarkable milestone for one of our cherished team members, Glinys, who has dedicated an incredible 45 years to our club.

Starting her journey on July 4th, 45 years ago, Glinys almost didn’t come back after her first day. However, she stayed, and we are immensely grateful she did. From working at the bar to the Chinese restaurant, the Board of Directors noticed Glinys’s clerical experience, leading her to work closely with them during Wally Webster’s tenure as secretary manager and through the subsequent CEOs. When returning to work after having her daughter, Glinys then became the warm and welcoming face of our reception. She has embraced every role with dedication and enthusiasm.

Reflecting on her time here, Glinys shared, “The most rewarding part of my job is the respect I receive from both staff and members. It’s a joy to be able to put a smile on people’s faces every day.”

In addition to all the changes she has seen at the club, Glinys fondly recalls the days when a typewriter was used at reception, and the ribbon would often fall off the desk. Reflecting on the changes, Glinys said, “It has been an honour to witness the evolution of our club’s regulations, policies, and structures, particularly seeing more women rise into managerial roles. Being part of this transformation has been a privilege.”

Her commitment and unwavering dedication have been an integral part of our community, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere that embodies the spirit of Wenty Leagues.

Please join us in expressing our deepest gratitude to Glinys for her outstanding service and congratulating her on this extraordinary achievement. Here’s to many more years of shared smiles and wonderful memories!

Thank you Glinys!

Meet the heart and soul behind the seamless operations and pristine condition of Wenty Leagues - our incredible maintenance team. This dedicated group of professionals ensures that our facilities are always in top-notch condition, providing a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for all our members and guests. Let’s dive into a Q&A session to learn more about the people who keep Wenty Leagues running smoothly.

Paul Felice

BUILDING & FACILITIES MANAGER

How long have you worked at Wenty Leagues? I’ve been with Wenty for nearly 25 years, starting at a very young age. It’s been quite a journey!

What type of work do you complete?

My role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. I work closely with the Board and

Executive team to implement strategic initiatives. This includes managing capital works, overseeing renovations and expansions, and handling day-to-day operations. The diversity of my role is one of its most rewarding aspects.

What do you enjoy most about working at Wenty?

There are two things that I cannot split, but firstly I have to mention the people that I work and deal with every day. Wenty Leagues is a friendly and welcoming place, it is in our fabric, it is our culture, it is our DNA.

The aspect I most enjoy and get most satisfaction from is that we are creating for the community. When I first started at Wenty, whilst enriched in history, our Clubhouse was somewhat ‘humble’. The Club is now a large, modern, beautiful building that caters for so many. We dramatically improved the building whilst respecting the history, this is something I am particularly proud of.

Membership Growth and Community Engagement

The Bowling Club continues to thrive with a robust membership of 235 enthusiastic bowlers. This vibrant community showcases the club’s growing popularity and commitment to promoting the sport.

Pennant Players Appreciation Day

On Saturday, 8th June, the club held its highly anticipated Pennant Players Appreciation Day in the Pavilion. About 80 of our dedicated Pennant players gathered for a day filled with friendly competition, camaraderie, and celebration. Participants enjoyed a fun game of bowls, followed by a delightful lunch and refreshing drinks. The event was a resounding success, with everyone leaving with smiles and stories to share.

Wenty Ladies’ Remarkable Run in State Finals

Our Wenty Ladies Division 3 team made us proud by competing in the state finals held in Ballina. Demonstrating exceptional skill and determination, the ladies reached the quarterfinals, showcasing their prowess on the green. Their journey was a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Men’s Division 3: A Nail-Biting Finish

The Men’s Division 3 team also had an impressive run in the state finals at Belrose. In a dramatic turn of events, the team reached the semi-finals. After 42 ends, the score was tied, necessitating an extra end. Even after the first extra end, the scores remained level. In the second extra end, Wenty held a three-shot lead but faced a heartwrenching defeat on the final bowl. Their effort and sportsmanship were commendable.

Success in Zone 10 Open Gender State Pennant Finals

Wenty’s performance in the Zone 10 Finals was exceptional, with four teams—2’s, 4’s, 7 White, and 7 Black—progressing to the finals. Notably, two teams advanced to the Open Gender Zone Finals. The Grade 2 team faced a tough match against Merrylands and was narrowly defeated. However, the Grade 4 team triumphed over Northmead, earning a spot in the State Playoffs at Figtree and Wisemans Park. The Grade 4 team fought valiantly, reaching the semi-finals before being defeated by Scone, who eventually won the championship. Finishing in the top 4 of the State’s 16 Zones is a remarkable achievement for our Grade 4 team.

Upcoming Presentation Day

We eagerly anticipate our Presentation Day, scheduled for Sunday, 14th July. This event will celebrate the achievements of our members and teams throughout the season, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Conclusion

The Bowling Club’s recent events and achievements highlight the dedication and passion of its members. From thrilling state finals to community appreciation days, the club continues to foster a sense of community and excellence in the sport. We look forward to more exciting events and successes in the future.

FISHING

We were fortunate to have two trips in April. The first resulted in 17 Morwong, 12 Snapper, 2 Long Finned Perch, 18 Flat Head, 6 Sergeant Baker and 25 Latchet. The Biggest Fish went to Anand Junior with a 1.77kg Snapper and the biggest bag also went to Junior with a total of 8.0 kgs. The catch was spread across all who went that day.

The second trip resulted in 18 Morwong, 1 Snapper, 1 Long Finned Perch, 16 Flat Head, 6 Sergeant Baker and 14 Latchet. The biggest fish as caught by Lewis, a Flat Head weighting 0.80 kg, and the biggest bag coming in at 9.0 kgs also caught by Lewis.

The weather on both trips was great with a gentle wind making it very pleasant on the water. Anglers were able to hold bottom which assisted in the number of fish caught as above. All went home with fish making the trips worthwhile.

Unfortunately, the trips scheduled for May and June were cancelled due to rough seas. Those on the list to attend were disappointed, nevertheless, safety first as always on the water.

For details on the Fishing Club see a member of the club or contact the committee. The Committee meets on the second Wednesday on each month at 6pm in the Sports Bar area.

Till next tide

GOLF

A chilly welcome from Wenty Leagues Social Golf Club, having experienced some very cold days and nights that have hit us with a vengeance of late.

To begin this month’s report, we played our annual foursomes event at

Woodville with the winners being Frank Pagano and Dominic Scali. Our runners-up were Sione Fangupo who partnered with Leon Plotkans. Straight after the event was our quarterly meeting back at the club. Thank you to all those who attended and especially thank you to those who contributed their feedback. It is always great to hear what our members have to say.

I would like to comment that the Woodville course has improved considerably over the past year or so and they are upgrading the par 3 fifth hole which is due to be reopened very soon.

Our Leagues club cup was played on the 12th May at Liverpool, but unfortunately our numbers were limited due to the wet conditions. The results were as follows:

The A grade winner was Charlie Ghaleb & runner-up Kelekolio Fangupo.

The B grade winner was Matt Pittas and runner-up Rob Trent.

C grade. Winner was Sione Fangupo and runner-up Gary Franklin.

Congratulations to all who competed.

Our second COW round concluded at Penrith on the 26th May. Well done to all those who progressed to the third round.

We were scheduled to play our RSL challenge on the 26th June at Gosford, but due to some rather inclement weather, they were forced to close the course as a result and the event unfortunately had to be cancelled.

We commenced our Stableford event at Glenmore Park on the 9th of June, normally played over four weeks. This was supposed to conclude at Richmond, however due to the persistent wet weather, the Liverpool game had to be cancelled. This means that our championship should now conclude at Penrith on the 7th July. Fortunately, our committee was able to find an alternate location at Springwood with limited numbers so some of our members were able to play a game. We are grateful to Springwood, as they have been able to accommodate us on numerous occasions in the past.

Next order of business. An offence of the most heinous variety has been reported. We allegedly had an air swing executed by Frank Pagano on the sixth hole at Glenmore Park. Frank was however very gracious in accepting his penalty shot all involved enjoyed a hearty chuckle on his behalf.

I must offer my apologies as I neglected to mention some new members in my previous report who attained their handicaps. I would also like to take the opportunity to officially welcome them to our club.

Please make welcome Steve Adams, Gary Franklin, Frank Pagano, John Iocca, Aaron Dixon and Gracian Marando. We also have the pleasure of welcoming back a former member, Billy Hilder. Please do say g’day and make them welcome when you see them next.

That about a wrap for June. We are always looking for new members so if you are interested or know someone, please check the sub club website for contact details.

Kind Regards.

NETBALL

Due to rain and the state of the Netball Courts at Blacktown we have had a few postponed games. These games will be ½ games when we next play against the teams that games were postponed. Wenty Leagues Netball, as well as other clubs, have been working tirelessly with Blacktown Netball Association to express the need of court maintenance to Blacktown City Council. This has resulted in the allocation of engineers to check and create a plan moving forward, to ensure a safe space for our sport to continue to grow. We will keep members updated on this progress.

Our skills program, for children aged 3-5, has been running for the past few months. This is available for all members of the community. We thank our volunteer junior coaches, for giving up their time to share their love of netball and supporting the growth and development of future players.

Our 14 Division 1 side has been invited to participate in a tournament called Kurungaituku Netball Tournament in Rotorua New Zealand. The Tournament is a 2-day tournament (14th & 15th September) consisting of teams all over New Zealand and our team will be 1 of 3 International teams invited to compete.

This is a great opportunity for this team, who will be the first team representing Wenty Leagues Netball Club internationally, along with an amazing opportunity for each player to experience international netball. This team has only lost 5 games since they were in Under 8’s - 6 years ago and have won 3 of a possible 4 premierships, 1 of these premierships was won playing in the age above their own age group. We wish this team all the best for a successful trip.

SUB CLUB Reports

Congratulations our senior coaching coordinator, Vanessa Arena, who recently was nominated for coach of the year at Blacktown City Councils annual sports awards.

We will have that weekend off, then play through to July School Holidays and have 2 weeks off. The last round game will be 24th August with the final series taking place over 31st August, 7th September & 14th September.

Presentation date is confirmed for Juniors and Seniors for Saturday October 26th.

Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership & Ron Massey Cup

On Sunday the 7th of July Wenty United and Wenty District Rugby League clubs, in conjunction with Wenty Leagues, celebrated Family Fun Day. For the first time in many a Sunday the weather gods were kind to us, no rain whatsoever and with wins from our Harvey Norman, Sydney Shield, and Ron Massey teams made for an even better day. A special thanks to Wenty Leagues and all the staff involved to make the day a huge success with all the money raised from donations going to the Children’s Cancer Institute.

As we are now at the beginning of July, we find ourselves well in to the Ron Massey competition but at round 1 for the Harvey Norman season. The girls have started with a bang, a comprehensive 36 – 0 victory over St George. To hold a team like Saints to nil is a fantastic defensive achievement and the attack was exciting with great shape on both sides of the ruck. With practically a new squad this year including some very important signings, and none more than 2023 NRLW Broncos premiership winning player Breanne Eales who proved her worth earning player of the match honours. This week the girls head down to the Shire to take on the Sharks.

The Ron Massey is currently sitting 3rd on the ladder, a great win on the weekend over the Bulldogs 34 – 4 cements their position in the top 4 with this Saturday, Back to Wenty Day at Ringrose, sees the boys come up against Mounties who just 1 point behind.

Without a doubt the highlight of the year thus far came a couple of Saturday’s ago when the Ron Massey squad had the privilege of travelling to Wentworth Falls and having a training / oppose session with the NSW Origin team before game 2. What a great experience for the boys and a real eye opener watching and training with the elite players in our game. NSW played at a greater speed and intensity which was a real learning curve for our players, and who knows, that training session could have been the contributing factor to the NSW huge win over QLD ???
