PRESIDENT’S Report

District Rugby League Club, where is a life member and also serving as President. Rod is a 35-year Wenty club member, has a wife and 2 adult children and will bring his managerial expertise from his senior executive roles covering Sales, Commercial and Strategy. Welcome Rod.

BOARD OF

Dear Members,

I’d like to begin my report by acknowledging the many members who recently turned out for the Clubs 65th Annual General Meeting, held on Sunday 28th May.

It was a privilege on behalf of the Board to be able to present to members the outstanding financial results of your club in 2022 and the overall healthy financial position our club is in, given the disruptive past 3 years. It’s certainly showing that the Master Plan that was developed and ultimately delivered has positioned the club for a very bright future amongst our community.

The Board and Executive Management have a strategic planning session set down for June 2023 where we will continue to discuss the next steps of the club’s journey, I look forward to sharing those details shortly with the membership.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing Director Rob Willis for his tenure with the Board of Wenty. Rob has made the decision to stand down from his position as he will be relocating away from Sydney. Rob has been an integral part of the Board for a number of years, he is a life member of the Cricket Club, and worked closely with a number of our sub clubs during his time. Rob, thank you and best wishes.

As one door closes another opens and with Robs departure, the Board have welcome Rod Pritchard as his replacement. Rod is heavily involved with the Wentworthville

I am delighted to inform you that your club’s fiscal performance remains exceptionally favourable as we are near the halfway mark of 2023. Wenty continues to remain a leader in our industry and consistently thriving in the current market. As we venture into the latter half of the year, we remain steadfast in our commitment to achieving exceptional outcomes across all facets of our operations with the best facilities for our members.

It was a great pleasure for us to witness club members filling our premises with the joyful presence of families and friends, as they celebrated the special women in their lives. It is clear our club serves as a cherished gathering place for commemorating milestones or spending quality time together with loved ones, over meals and entertainment. I look forward to seeing this positive momentum carrying forward into 2023.

In the coming months, I invite you to enjoy the array of dining offerings at the club. Indulge in the comforting flavours of our curated Winter menu, which will be featured across our dining outlets, namely Wenty Café and Chef’s Grill. If you are yet to experience CHAR (Steak & Seafood) and ENVY, gather with loved ones to unwind and enjoy great food, a relaxed atmosphere and live music. ENVY boasts an exceptional selection of beverages, ranging from exquisite cocktails and beers to fine champagne and wine. Do not miss the opportunity to experience it firsthand!

That concludes my report for this edition of The Journal and I look forward to seeing you on your next visit to the club.

the Year. Whilst we didn’t come home with any awards, it was great to celebrate the incredible work all clubs are achieving in their local communities. Clubs really are the heartbeat of their communities and something we strive to achieve here at Wenty Leagues. On pages 6, 7 and 8 you can read through some of the community initiatives we have been a part of recently here at Wenty Leagues.

Dear Members,

As we head into Winter, we are pleased to welcome you to the June/July edition of the Wenty Journal. May was all about the special women in our lives, with Mother’s Day bringing a wave of guests through our doors, which were open all day long for families eager to commemorate this special occasion. In The Plaza, our dedicated staff went above and beyond to manage the huge crowds who gathered, ensuring that every member of the family was content with exceptional food and service.

Last month some of our team attended the Clubs & Community Awards where we were thrilled to be finalists in two categories, Education and Club Person of

As we transition into the colder months, our food specials are all carefully curated to bring you that cosy feeling, whether you crave a warming soup, a premium pie or a beloved Wenty classic. Each of our food outlets is proud to offer an array of incredible dishes that will leave you satisfied, and no doubt warm our bellies.

Coming off Queensland’s victory in Game 1, Australia’s Greatest Sporting Rivalry, “State of Origin” continues with games 2 and 3, showing live and loud in our Magpie Bar. Take a look at our Footy Specials on page 21 to see what food you can enjoy while you cheer on your State!

July also gives us the opportunity to embrace the wintery Christmas spirit. We’ll be weaving a touch of festivity into our food offerings and even giving our Thursday raffles a ‘Christmas in July’ makeover throughout the month. Join us as we celebrate this unique twist on the holiday season.

Lastly, we are incredibly excited to be taking part in the Perfect Plate competition for 2023, with our dish delivering a taste sensation like no other. A decadent Slow Cooked Smoked Beef Cheek, with all the extras you would hope for, to give the perfect taste to the perfect plate. We are so proud of our Sous Chef, Ferdinand who has been with us for many years and has stepped up this year to deliver an incredible dish. A big thank you to Ferdinand for putting this dish together with so much care and precision. We can’t wait for you to try it and we would love your support to make 2023 another winning year for us! Please see our fabulous team when you’re next in club, to learn more about the Perfect Plate competition this year and importantly how to vote for us.

In closing, thank you to the Board of Directors and Members who turned out for the recent Annual General Meeting held up on level 1. Congratulations to the Board of Directors, elected by the membership for the next two years. On behalf of myself and my executive team and staff we look forward to working closely and collaboratively with you.

Thank you Members.

WENTY LEAGUES IN THE

Clubs & Community Awards Night

On the 18th May, we attended the Club industry night of nights, the Clubs and Community Awards. Held under the magnificent big top at Luna Park, this year’s event offered a breathtaking backdrop for an amazing night. While we may not have claimed the coveted awards, the experience was truly remarkable as we witnessed the unity of the club industry, united in celebration and acknowledgment of the remarkable efforts undertaken by individuals and clubs within NSW.

The event itself served as a stage to spotlight an array of extraordinary programs and initiatives spanning various categories and the inspiring work taking place throughout the state. We left the event filled with renewed inspiration, eager to continue our own journey of making a difference within our local community.

Rich Person / Poor Person Dinner Children’s Cancer Research Centre

In May we were proud to be the gold sponsor of Parramatta Missions inaugural Rich Person Poor Person Fundraising Dinner. The event was attended by representatives of Wenty Leagues including Directors, Management and Staff. The evening was marked by a unique and thought-provoking concept with attendees, including ourselves, participating in a captivating dining experience, where the distinction between being a “Rich Person” or a “Poor Person” was left entirely to chance. Each guest selected a card that determined their meal for the night, showcasing the disparities and challenges faced by individuals in our community.

Many of us were humbled as we were served a simple meal. It was a powerful reminder of the daily struggles faced by numerous community members. In contrast, a fortunate few enjoyed an exquisite three-course meal, highlighting the stark contrast in circumstances that exist within our society.

Beyond the captivating dining experience, the event held a deeper purpose. It aimed to raise awareness among both individuals and businesses in attendance about the realities faced by the less fortunate in our community. The evening provided a brief glimpse into the daily lives and challenges endured by those who are often overlooked or marginalized.

Wenty Leagues representatives were enriched by the experience and were able to witness first-hand the great work Parramatta Mission conducts each day within our community. We were inspired by the tireless dedication of the Mission’s team, who work hard to make a positive impact within our community.

In December 2022, Wenty Leagues donated a sum of $50,000 to the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. This contribution was dedicated to the Foundation’s remarkable initiative, Lights for Kids, aimed at advancing research and treatments for Sarcoma, a devastating childhood cancer.

As a token of appreciation, Wenty Leagues received a special invitation to a heartwarming morning tea held at the Sydney Children’s Cancer Research Centre. This event provided a unique opportunity for attendees to witness firsthand the impactful allocation of the funding to the vital area of Sarcoma research.

Within the walls of the research centre, distinguished doctors, esteemed professors, and industry experts passionately shared their ground-breaking work. Their collective efforts were geared towards developing innovative treatments that would enhance the chances of survival for brave children battling Sarcoma. The research focused on finding viable alternatives to conventional chemotherapy and radiation, seeking new approaches to offer a brighter and more hopeful future for young patients.

Wenty Leagues took immense pride in their role as initial contributors to the research’s foundational stage. The donation aided in establishing the necessary infrastructure, implementing crucial systems, and ensuring the correct processes were in place to propel the research forward. This “Base Work” formed the cornerstone of the ongoing investigations.

From this “Base Work”, the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation was successful in receiving the highly competitive $2.3 million dollar grant from The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) to assist in funding further research, with hope of the additional funding will lead to the next breakthrough in this research field.

Lipstick Lunch Youth off the Streets

Over the years we have been a proud supporter of Youth off the Streets (YOTS). In May of this year, some of our team had the privilege of attending the Lipstick Luncheon, an annual event dedicated to both raising awareness and vital funds for the continuation of YOTS programs. The luncheon proved to be an wonderful experience, where an inspiring panel of women shared their stories. These extraordinary individuals recounted their personal journeys towards success, highlighting the triumphs and challenges they encountered along the way. Moreover, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as a remarkable young lady, from a tumultuous background, shared her moving journey. With the invaluable support and guidance provided by YOTS, she not only managed to reclaim her life but also discovered her true calling. Today, she stands as a beacon of hope, studying nursing and igniting the flame of inspiration in others.

Making a Long-Term Impact on Children’s Learning & Wellbeing

Children and adolescents throughout the Cumberland Local Government Area continue to receive life-changing support for their learning, development and wellbeing thanks to Wenty Leagues’generous funding of speech therapy, psychology, literacy and numeracy programs in schools.

The club has a long-term partnership with Learning Links, a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing evidencebased programs to empower children with learning difficulties anddisabilities for over 50 years. Over the last five years, Wenty Leagues has committed more than $175,000 through its ClubGRANTS program to extend Learning Links’ support to 200 students in local primary and high schools.

“Wenty Leagues has had a long-standing relationship with Learning Links and we are proud that our support has helped take their programs to local schools to assist students experiencing learning difficulties, as well as mental health issues, along with their families and educators. We are honoured our ongoing support is helping to change the lives of so many children and families in the local community, so they may go on to achieve their full potential,” says Stuart Jamieson, Wenty Leagues Chief Operations Officer.

In the current school year, funding has enabled Learning Links to offer an ongoing speech, language and communication intervention program at Holroyd High School. The program targets students who are at risk of poor academic and social outcomes due to underlying speech and/or language difficulties that impact their learning. The interventions help to improve the students’ ability and confidence to communicate effectively with others, contribute to class discussions and express their interests and needs.

Learning Links’ psychologists are also running small group programs with primary school students. These evidencebased programs are for children experiencing mental health challenges and help to build skills with managing emotions, building peer relationships and overall wellbeing. They are also upskilling teachers and parents to better understand educational and psycho-social challenges to support the mental health and socio-emotional development of children.

Learning Links CEO, Birgitte Maibom, says, “The generous funding that Learning Links receives from partners like Wenty Leagues makes a life-changing difference. Most of the students who participate in our in-school programs would otherwise miss out on this vital support at such a crucial time in their lives, when it can truly impact their future success. We are incredibly grateful to Wenty Leagues for enabling us to work with these schools and extend our support to more children in need each year.”

Learning Links’ school-based speech therapy, psychology, and literacy and numeracy programs are delivered in small groups and one-to-one for students who require more targeted support. They focus on skill development in the areas that students experience difficulties in, but ultimately lead to greater confidence, self-esteem and belief in their abilities, so that they can effectively learn alongside their peers.

Wenty Leagues also provides generous support to Learning Links through its Charity Housie sessions, which run at the club Monday through to Saturday.

Learning Links is a not-for-profit charitable organisation established in 1972 that empowers over 5,000 children each year to learn, develop and thrive. Learning Links works in partnership with families, schools and communities to provide evidencebased program that help children gain vital skills and confidence, while building the capacity of teachers and other professionals to support them. Our vision is to create a community where difficulties learning are no longer a barrier to a fulfilling life.

Celebrating 60 Years of Bowling Excellence

WENTY LEAGUES BOWLING CLUB

As the Wenty Leagues Bowling Club commemorates its 60th anniversary, we would love to reflect on the remarkable journey they have embarked upon.

Cameron introduced changes to the conduct of social bowls, initially met with resistance but ultimately embraced by the members. The increased prize money attracted quality bowlers and visitors from different regions, enriching the club’s bowling community. Jeff Gallagher, a respected member, provided invaluable support and guidance, ensuring that all members felt welcome and included.

The club faced new challenges with the arrival of COVID, but the Committee’s resilience and adaptability ensured its survival. Despite restrictions and limitations, the club remained financially viable and continued to support its members. The bond between the men’s and women’s clubs grew stronger, leading to the eventual amalgamation of the two entities, a decision supported by both sides.

With the distinction between men and women bowlers set to be abandoned statewide, Wenty Leagues Bowling Club took control of its destiny and initiated the amalgamation process. The women’s club voted in favour of the merger, leading to a review of the club’s constitution and the formation of a unified club.

Even looking at the last 9 years, the club has seen extraordinary growth and changes. In 2014 the Leagues Club recognised the need for improvement and announced plans for major extensions that would transform the club. These ambitious plans included the addition of an undercover artificial green with seating for spectators, LED lighting for night use, and designated smoking areas. These modern facilities would ensure that competitions could continue regardless of the weather, attracting bowlers from all over the metropolitan area.

A new social area, The Pavilion, became the club’s clubhouse, complete with a discrete bowls office, storage area, toilets, and noticeboard facilities. The members were thrilled to have a dedicated space that provided comfort and convenience, with integrated air conditioning, eliminating the need for cooling sprays and heaters.

During the construction period, the club temporarily moved to a comfortable demountable building above the underground car park, enjoying the privacy they had longed for. The addition of locker rooms and ramps further enhanced accessibility and convenience for all members.

Under the guidance of Mick Harry, the Bowls Coordinator, the club experienced a renewed interest in winning, leading to greater success in Pennant Competitions. Mick left in 2017, leaving a void that was filled by Cameron Curtis, former Australian National Coach and Representative Player, whose expertise and leadership further elevated the club’s standing.

The club’s success was not only due to the efforts of the Committee but also the unwavering support of sponsors. The club fostered relationships with existing sponsors and attracted new ones, implementing modern approaches to fundraising and revenue generation. The introduction of Club shirts as merchandise proved highly successful and financially rewarding.

The Wenty Leagues Bowling Club’s 60th anniversary is not only a celebration of the past but also a testament to the club’s ability to adapt, grow, and thrive.

From humble beginnings to a modern, inclusive, and vibrant bowling community, the club has come a long way. The members, united by their love for the sport and their unwavering dedication, look forward.

Celebrating 60 Years of Success

WENTY LEAGUES NETBALL CLUB

This July, the Wenty Leagues Netball Club are celebrating an exciting milestone – 60 years since their establishment. Starting in 1963 as the Wentworthville Leagues Women’s Basketball Club, the club underwent a transformation in 1971, becoming the Wentworthville Leagues Netball Club (now known as Wenty).

With humble beginnings, the club started with just one Junior and one Senior team, gathering at Monty Bennett Oval in Wentworthville for their training sessions. The dedicated members poured their hearts and souls into the sport they loved, and their efforts soon paid off. Under the guidance of their passionate coaches, the players honed their skills and fostered a strong sense of friendship within the club.

At the forefront of this journey were the founding members who dedicated themselves to the success of the club. Glenys Lobsey, an unwavering supporter of the sport, was elected as the first President, laying the foundation for the club’s future endeavours. Doreen Rigby, took on the role of the first Secretary, ensuring that the club ran smoothly both on and off the court. Betty Brown, was elected as the first Treasurer, skilfully managing the club’s finances. Their commitment and vision set the stage for generations to come.

they continue to uphold the rich legacy of the club while fostering its growth and development.

Throughout its history, the club has been blessed with numerous long-serving players and members. Judy Paton has dedicated over 55 years of her life to the club, inspiring generations of players with her unwavering commitment. Sharon Nasser, has been a part of the club for than four decades, embodying the spirit of perseverance and passion. Their enduring presence showcases the sense of belonging and the familial bonds that the club cherishes.

In the current 2023 season, the Wenty Leagues Netball Club proudly boasts an impressive roster of 23 teams, ranging from the Junior to the Senior level, showcasing the club’s commitment to nurturing talent across all age groups. Competing in the prestigious Blacktown City Netball Competition, the players exude determination, skill, and sportsmanship, leaving their mark on the local netball scene.

As the Wenty Leagues Netball Club celebrates its 60th anniversary, it stands as a testament to the power of community, dedication, and passion. From its modest beginnings with just two teams to its current thriving state, the club has not only shaped the lives of countless players but also fostered a strong sense of unity within the Wentworthville community.

Looking to the future, the Wenty Leagues Netball Club aims to continue nurturing talent, providing a safe and inclusive environment for players of all ages and backgrounds. With a legacy built on six decades of success, the club is poised to make even greater strides, leaving an incredible mark on the netball landscape for years to come.

Six decades later, the Wenty Leagues Netball Club still thrives, thanks to the unwavering dedication of its current committee members. Jody Manson, a passionate advocate for the sport, now holds the title of President, leading the club with boundless enthusiasm. Kellie Denning takes charge as the Secretary, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. Melissa Morris expertly manages the club’s treasury, safeguarding its long-term stability. Together,

CRICKET

We recently held our cricket presentations and attendance was great at both events, we were fortunate enough to have test umpire Greg Davison as our Guest Speaker at the senior presentation. He had some great insights on his career and how he sees the game differently from the umpire’s angle.

Our Senior Player of the year was Ramesh Jayathunga and our Junior Player of the year was Rohan Girvan, well done Ramesh and Rohan.

In our ladies club triples championship final, it was a victory for Lisa Chant, Dorothy Cragg and Marie Farmer by a couple of shots over Joy Loh, Betty Packer, and Lyn Skeers. In other Championship events, Sue Cunningham & Betty Hammond were victorious in the Two-Life Handicap Pairs over Janice Patten and Sheryn Batcheldor.

Sheryn Batcheldor and Lyn Skeers won the Major Pairs over Chrissy Hillman and Mure Lilje. The Major Singles was a fantastic event with eventual champion, Chrissy Cadman, surviving two one-shot victories in the semifinal and final to claim the blue-ribbon title over Lyn Hickey.

In the Minor Singles, it was a win for Shylie Little over Jean Chester and in the Minor Pairs, Janice Patten and Sue Cunningham defeated Gil Chaperon and Jean Chester. In the women’s Club Fours championship, it was a terrific win for Heather Davis, Elizabeth Varecka, Robyn Eagles and Betty Packer who defeated Victoria Ghanbary, Maria Kang, Sharon Walpole and Sonia Baitieri.

We also had some very good performances in the Zone 10 State Singles Championship recently. Unfortunately, our boys were defeated in the semifinal, but put up a great performance along the way. Bob Edgar was defeated in the Senior State Singles and Peter Bird in the Reserve State Singles.

We also have our annual social bowls day with the NSW Police bowlers, which will be held on Wednesday 7th June at 12 noon. Keep this date in your diaries along with the annual Zone 10 Presentation Night, which will be held at Club Merrylands on Friday 25th August.

A reminder that our 60th Anniversary tournament week of bowls is coming up, 10th – 14th July. We have over $20K on offer and a different tournament event each day. Places are filling quickly, so if you want to be part of this great week of celebration, then see the Bowls Coordinator, Cam Curtis, very soon and get your team in or put yourself down as a single entry.

At our recent AGM Robert Willis stood down from the vice president role due to his recent move. We would like to thank Rob for all his efforts for the cricket club over the XXX number of years he was involved. Rob was always there to help the cricket club whenever we needed him, and he held many roles over those times. I’m sure we will still catch up when he is back in Sydney. All the best to you and Lisa on your next chapter.

Next seasons registrations will open early in July, so keep an eye out on our social media sites.

FISHING

With the change in the weather the fishing has been good. In March there were two trips, the first was on the 18th and the seas were relatively calm and we were able to fish near the 100 meter mark, 32 Morwong, 6 Snapper, 12 Pig Fish, 10 Flathead, 6 Sergeant Baker and 3 sweep were caught. The biggest fish caught by Lewis Marmgion was a Morwong weighing 1.02 kgs and the biggest bag also went to Lewis with 9.55 kgs. Lewis had a great day.

The next trip was on 25 March, it too was a calm day and the current slow which meant anglers could hold bottom, so again fishing near the 100 meter mark. The catch consisted of 21 Morwong, 2 Snapper, 3 Leather Jackets, 4 Pig fish, 34 Long finned Perch, 22 Flat Head, 14 Sergeant Baker and 3 sweep, a great number of fish all keepers caught. The biggest fish

went to George Schembri with a 1.29 kg Flat Head and the biggest bag went to Anand (Senior) Naidoo with 5.73 kgs.

The planned annual fish off with Blacktown Workers Club in April was postponed due to severe weather warnings which proved to be true, the rain was heavy and strong winds, and there was a lot of it.

A trip on 22 April went ahead which pleased all those who were scheduled to go. The outing was rewarding with 18 Morwong, 10 Snapper,2 Leather Jackets, 3 Pig Fish, 2 Long Finned Perch, 10 Flat Head, and 3 Sergeant Bakers caught. The biggest fish a 1.38 kg Snapper was caught by Paul Jelicich with the biggest bag going to Anand (Senior) Naidoo. Also, on that trip 2 King Fish were caught, but they were just under size so back they went, Andrew and Lewis were disappointed but back in the water they went.

The Small Boats weekend 5, 6 and 7th May at Greenwell Point was able to go ahead, the seas look to be calm and the wind just a breeze. It will be nice out on the water for those who are going. The guys will be looking for a good catch and expecting Flat Head and with the colder weather Snapper. We will see when the report comes in just how successful they were.

If you are interested or would like to know more about the Went Fishing Sub-Club, we meet every second Wednesday at 6pm in the Sports Bar, come along and meet some members.

Till next tide

GOLF

For my second update of 2023, I am happy to report that events are flowing much more smoothly when compared to the last couple of years, as life slowly returns to normal. Our new committee members are also settling in quite well as they adjust to their new roles.

We have recently had two Jackpot holes go off. The third at Glenmore Park where Frank Soballa collected the spoils, and the third at Penrith, taken humbly by myself.

March 10-12 saw us at the Illawara as we attended our annual trip, playing three courses, Wollongong, Calderwood Valley and Shell Cove. A great time was had by all.

The Gosford Leagues Club Challenge, which is held twice a year (once at Gosford and once at home) saw us snag a victory at the home club in Penrith, with a resounding win of 271 points to 188.

Next on our calendar was the Summer Ambrose which was played at Leonay Golf Club. Our winners were Ryan Payne, Charlie Ghaleb, Dominic Scali and Tim Willet with runners-up Jim Clarke, Frank Soballa, Rob Lavery and Avner Dahari.

SUB CLUB Reports

Our first round of COW was played on the 2nd of March at Glenmore Park. Three games were played which saw Troy Tyson, Rei Reihana and myself progressing to the second round.

Our Foursomes event at Woodville took place on the 9th of April which saw line honours going to John Huizing and Wilson Solomon and runners-up Rob Ruffle and myself.

I would like to pass on a heart-felt congratulations to all winners and runners up.

Unfortunately, the Leagues Club Cup that was scheduled to be played at Camden Lakeside on the 30th of April has had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. Hopefully this is the first (and last) time we will have to endure a weather event. This will see the event rescheduled to take place later in the year.

In signing off for this period, I am delighted to inform everyone that we have had five new members join our club this year. I am sure I share the sentiment with everyone when I say that I hope to see more taking the plunge as the year progresses. If you have a spare Sunday, come and join us. We play every Sunday and anyone interested in playing can find our details in the Club Journal, on the website or on the Sub Club noticeboards in the Club House.

Kind Regards.

SWIMMING

We are currently in our Winter recess having completed half our season at the end of March.

We had some members attend the AIF Swimming Association Carnival held at the Des Renford Swimming Centre at Maroubra on Saturday 11th March, 2023.

David Burns had success winning the 40/44 years 50 metre Freestyle Championship with a time of 26.19. Well done David.

We also have members attending the Queens Legacy Carnival to be held at Dubbo over the June long weekend.

Our Club has been attending this carnival since its origin at Wellington in the late 1970’s, then known as the Wellington Rose Bowl Carnival. When Wellington lost their pool the Carnival was transferred to Queanbeyan where it ran for 30 years.

The Carnival is now hosted by Dubbo Swimming Club.

These carnivals have raised funds for the respective branches of Legacy Just a shout out to our members who are not 100% at the moment and hope that you make a speedy recovery.

We shall re-commence our season on Sunday 8th October, 2023.

WDRLFC (HNWP & Ron Massey Cups)

Due to an early season start to coincide with the women’s NRLW the Harvey Norman Women’s competition has come to end and after a promising start to the season a couple of unfortunate defeats saw the girls slip out of the top 4 and miss out on semi-final football. Needless to say, this season was a much improved year from the girls actually beating the eventual premiers in their round game but a couple of close loses ended their season early.

Congratulations to the award winners for the season :-

Rookie of the Year Jamee Taitoko

Coaches Award Chloe Leaupepe

Player of the Year Elsie Albert

Also a massive congratulation to the following girls who have secured NRLW contracts for 2023 :-

Elsie Albert, Jade Fonua, Amelia Mafi, Tyla Amiatu, and Rosemarie Beckett to Parramatta with Rima Butler moving to Newcastle.

The Ron Massey are half way through their season and after round 9, 21st of May, the boys are equal 3rd with 5 wins, 4 loses, and a bye. The Ron Massey ladder is very tight and the team has shown some good form over the last 2 weeks with wins over Fiji 28 – 20 and Canterbury Bulldogs 38 – 22. This week the Ron Massey travel to Wentworth Park to take on the second placed Glebe which will be a great test now leading into the second half of the season.

All information relating to the WDRLFC including complete draws for the Harvey Norman Women’s, Ron Massey, and Intrust Super Premiership teams can be found on our website
