WISENT-HÜTTE THE WISENT-HÜTTE RESTAURANT AND BISON WATCHING
Erleben Sie Wisente, die größten Landsäugetiere Europas, in freier Natur. 2013 wurde eine Gruppe Wisente im Rahmen eines Artenschutzprojektes in den Wittgensteiner Wäldern ausgewildert. Dort lebt sie auf 20 Hektar in ihrer natürlichen und naturbelassenen Umgebung. Besucher können in der „Wisent-Wildnis am Rothaarsteig“, einem 3 Kilometer langen Rundweg, die Riesen aus nächster Nähe beobachten. In direkter Nachbarschaft befi ndet sich der Naturerlebnisplatz – ein Naturspielplatz für Kinder.
Experience bisons in their natural habitat and get up close with Europe’s largest terrestrial mammal. In 2013, a herd of bisons was released into the wild of the Wittgenstein forests as part of a large-scale wildlife conservation project. The herd still roams free on 20 hectare of land. Visit the Wisent-Hütte restaurant and embark on the 3-kilometre circular walk to watch the giants. For your children, there is also a nature-inspired playground along the way.
