Greeting from the President & CEO and Chair Greetings Chamber Members and Friends, It's been a very busy few months here at the Chamber. The 29th Annual Business Excellence Awards on April 24 brought our business community together to celebrate outstanding individuals and businesses in Windsor-Essex. We've also partnered on events with Windsor Star, Rotary 1918 and Bridging North America to bring our members informative sessions that will help them to successfully operate in the region by bringing tools to their attention that can aid them in expanding their customer base. Rakesh Naidu President & CEO
In March and April, the Chamber hosted Minister Navdeep Bains and Minister Todd Smith. These meetings allowed Chamber members and key stakeholders to highlight the needs and challenges that businesses face in Windsor-Essex.
We are actively identifying and creating new ways the Chamber can partner with local businesses to offer our members exclusive discounts on products that will save them money and make their businesses more efficient. One of these new partnerships is with InspireHUB. Chamber members will receive a discounted price on the InspireHUB communications tool. Please see the article on the next page for detailed information on this tool which will increase your internal and external communication efficiencies and overall business productivity. If your company would like to discuss Affinity partnership with the Chamber or to offer WERCC members an exclusive deal, please contact the Chamber office today.

NEW CHAMBER AFFINITY PROGRAM “We're sending out more email to see why no one is reading our email.” Karolyn Hart couldn't help but burst out in laughter as she reviewed the comic that one of her employees had designed to capture the frustrations that many busy professionals experience.
| Business Briefs - May/June 2019
“Sadly, it's so funny because it's true. We all know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result, but many professionals don't know there's a better way when it comes to communications,” explains Karolyn Hart who is the Founder and President of InspireHUB, a company who is the creator of the awardwinning IHUBApp that helps organizations better engage with their audience. “One of the things our team loves to do is sit with businesses as they vent about their communication frustrations and then show them how the IHUBApp not only fixes those frustrations but does it in a way that is unique to their teams and organizations.”
4
Indeed, the unique approach to digital communications is why the IHUBApp won the 2018 Innovation Award from the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce. InspireHUB was founded in 2013 at the request of the late Nelson Mandela for assistance in engaging the people of South Africa towards a common cause. Six years later InspireHUB continues to attract attention for their innovative technology and is now focused on helping a growing roster of clients across North America. One of those clients is the prestigious Boy Scouts of America. The team at
InspireHUB is now working with multiple councils, and their website showcases a testimonial from one of the largest councils in America that boasts 57,000 Scouts, 14,000 leaders and an army of volunteers and staff. When Karolyn is pressed to try and select a favourite client she gets a knowing smile. “That's a bit like asking a parent who is their favourite child?” She laughs gently. “I love what we are doing with Boy Scouts because it really shows the capabilities of the platform on a larger scale. When we arrived, they had tremendous challenges managing all their different audiences and program c o m m u n i c a t i o n s . We ' r e n o w working with multiple councils and hearing from their Scout Executives that parents are loving the technology. Impressing parents is really important, so that makes us tremendously proud.” “From a design and mobile experience perspective, I would
have to say that I really am impressed with what the team at Cooper's Hawk Vineyards is doing. They are using us for their website, their app, and their internal communications with staff. They really invested time in thinking about the mobile experience for their visitors. From being able to call with a click of a button to making it super easy to get directions and hours... they just got so much right. Plus, I really love how they created the ability to easily sort through their wines. It showcases our platform in an entirely different way.” So what exactly is the IHUBApp? Is it a website maker, collaboration tool, app, text notification manager, social community platform, intranet, or internal communications wizard? “Yes! To all of the above. All of those items listed are simply digital solutions for communications. We spent years meeting with nontechnical people who gave us their very long list of complaints around the tools they were using and then contin. pg. 5
Chamber News designed solutions to help them. It ends up that when you listen to your customers and give them what they actually want that you will end up being successful because you are making them successful.” Introducing the IHUBApp® We are on a mission to help you engage your tribe whether it's your employees, suppliers, vendors, volunteers, clients or fans. Our awardwinning enterprise collaboration and notification software is all about making it really easy to target communications in a way that actually
engages people, elevates communications, and energizes your tribe. The IHUBApp reduces the risk of critical information being missed. It's more than just a new type of collaboration network: it's an alert and notification system, a content curator, an event organizer, and your organization's private and professional social network. Our cloud-based Progressive Web App Technology can be accessed from anywhere, at any time, on any device without having to 'install' anything.
