NEW DAWN… NEW EGYPT While you read these lines the results of the presidential elections will be out and Egyptians will know by now who their leader is and who will take the heavy burden of changing this country to the better. So far all the signs and the polls show that Abdel Fattah El Sisi is the coming president of Egypt, apart from all the previous confusing phase of Egypt’s history, I believe this is the first lawful official president after the revolution, he is the one who was able to fight ignorance tyranny and religious manipulation to take the people’s side who filled Egypt’s streets calling for a better future. Three years have passed since the revolution, and Egyptians still know that they deserve better and they didn’t over thrown a tyranny who’s reign lasted for 30 years to replace it with a whole gang. As president Sisi said in his interviews, and being a man of deeds rather than empty words he made it clear that the situation in Egypt is really stressful and he doesn’t have much to promise us unless we are really serious to work

hard hand in hand with him for a better future for this country and in order to raise it higher and make it reach a distinguished position. As president Sisi said, there is no time for hatred and revenge its time for standing side by side because the economical condition of the country is getting worse and worse, the only way out from this crisis is the cooperation of the entire nation regardless of their political views or backgrounds. At the end, it’s our country, our Egypt and it’s where we all belong so I hope this will be the right time Egyptians will push aside their disagreements to agree that we all want the well fare of this country, and all of us without exception will bear the consequences if the situation of the country gets worse. I wish this presidential elections will be the end of the instability, political conflicts and violence and I wish we are all able now to see the bigger picture and help in bringing this country to the right direction, where Egypt and the Egyptians are our first and only priority.

ADELE SUGGESTS THAT NEW ALBUM, ‘25,’ WILL BE RELEASED LATER THIS YEAR

Adele has celebrated her birthday by posting a tweet that seems to hint her new album will be released later this year - and that it will be called “25.” The singer turns 26 on the 5th of May and took to Twitter to post a picture of herself with the caption “Bye bye 25 ... See you again later in the year x.” Unless she’s let slip a secret ability to time travel, this seems to suggest a new album is on its way. Adele’s previous two albums, “19” and “21,” were named after the age she was when they were written - so it seems likely that her third offering will be named “25”.

SHOW OFF YOUR LASHES

Do you know whats the secret of a mascara that delivers its promises? It’s the perfect match and balance between the formula and its brush. Smart Volume 1 Seconde mascara brush developed by Bourjois, takes its inspiration from professional round hairbrushes. It “brushes” lashes to the maximum and creates instant volume. It cleverly alternates bristles fitted with small wraparound spheres and straight bristles. The first perfectly envelopes the whole lash to coat it and the second defines each individual lash without forming clumps. For best results, apply to the top lashes and then the lower ones: the “blow dry” brush on Volume 1 Seconde mascara lends itself particularly well and the effect will be even more spectacular.

CELEBRITY BEAUTY TIPS T

his Summer, Lounge brings you top tips for a glowing look from the mouth of A list celebrity beauty experts. Don’t miss their tips on the best beauty products and magical tricks to save your glow for this season.

Rihanna’s Hairstylist Ursula Stephen said: if you can avoid your blow dryer and straightener in the summer, that’s a plus. Go natural and don’t fight your hair. Use leave-in conditioner; you can apply it in the morning and re-apply mid day. Or you can use other moisturizers during the day to keep your hair shiny and soft. Also, wearing your hair up and piled on top of your head is a very cute look for the summer. It shows your face and neck and beautiful tan skin. Putting your hair up will also keep it protected. “A lightweight foundation works best. You have to keep product to a minimum in the warmer part of the year. However, layering is key to making it last all day. If you want your eyeshadow to stay put in the humidity, apply a thin layer of a matte powder shadow to your lids, then take one of the CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlasts and tap in on top. Your shadow will become practically waterproof and stay gorgeous all day. Also, it goes without saying water resistant formulas always work best, like with the CoverGirl LashBlast mascaras,” said Selena Gomez’s CoverGirl Celebrity Makeup Artist Karan Mitchell.

Lupita Nyong’o’s makeup artist, Nick Barose, has a great tip for tweaking red lipstick - simply apply a little gold eyeshadow to the center of the lip using your finger. Barose added that a golden lip looks especially stunning on dark skin. For Lupita’s BAFTA Awards look, she used DiorAddict Gloss in Cygne Noir and Sisley Paris’ Phyto Ombre Glow Eyeshadow in Amber.

Beyoncé loves Smith’s Rosebud Salve. “I did this trick last summer when I was on vacation: I used it to prime my lashes before curling. It was like a natural mascara. It made the lashes hold the curl and look shiny. I use it for everything! And I love L’Oréal Elnett hairspray. It’s very light and holds whatever hairstyle you want.”

The Amazing Spiderman 2 star Emma Stone mentioned in her own words that “with such fair skin, I have to wear sunscreen. EltaMD has one that’s SPF 45. It’s really great!”

Kim Kardashian’s tip for the summer is all about the lips; “I know it is hard to believe, but you can burn your lips. A lip balm with SPF 15 is in every single one of my bags.”

WAYS TO TURN A SUMMER FLING INTO A REAL THING

LOUNGE 26

s

ummer is a great time for you to explore new places and meet new people, and summer flings are generally the best part. Summer flings can be fun, but there are risks. If you are looking for something more than just a summer fling then, there are some do’s and don’ts you need to know first to make a summer fling last. Reem El Shennawi brings you some of her tips to follow, read on

1. MAKE SURE YOUR FLING IS SINGLE

You don’t need any unnecessary drama over your summer break. You sure don’t want to hurt someone else, even if you don’t intend to, better be safe than sorry.

2. DON’T BECOME SOMEONE YOU’RE NOT Deciding to dress completely different, lying about yourself, and pretending to be someone you’re not for someone else is stupid. Be yourself! If your fling doesn’t like it, that’s their problem, not yours. You wouldn’t want somebody lying to you about who they are.

3. BE POSITIVE

There’s nothing sexier than a girl who’s smartly positive, so throw your worries out the window and flash him your killer smile. Good vibes don’t only attract good vibes; they can also attract the man you’ve been eyeing.

4. BE OPEN TO CONVERSATIONS

Get to know each other by making small talk. Ask him about the places he has been to, the books he has read, and the pets he has at home. Keep the conversation intelligent, but remember to avoid subjects that can cause arguments.

5. DO SOMETHING FUN TOGETHER

Flings aren’t just about finding someone to hold your hand while walking along the beach. Having a fling could be all about meeting somebody you can have genuine fun with. Be bold and confident enough to ask him to join you on your summer adventure. Inviting him to do stuff together will strengthen your newfound friendship.

6. GO ON AN ACTUAL DATE

If you want to see if your summer fling will last, scope out a space that’s conducive to conversation. For the romance to last, you need to click on more than just a physical level. Chill at a cafe, have drinks on a patio -- but whatever you do, choose a location where you can talk. You’ll find out if you have anything else in common besides a love for the beach and pool parties. The more you get to know about each other, the better the chances are of your fling turning into something more significant.

7. INTRODUCE HIM TO YOUR FRIENDS It’s important to introduce him to your friends to see how comfortable they are together, as well as how serious he is about you. If you want to make this last, you need to know that you won’t be going out together alone forever, both of you will have to go out with friends too. Besides, you need to see how he deals with other people around.

8. TELL HIM HOW YOU FEEL

Don’t just assume things will end as soon as your vacation is over, there might be a chance he wants things to last too. Be straight about it and tell him you’re hoping to continue seeing him, and see if he feels the same way. Sure, it’s a bold move with potential for rejection -- but if you don’t ask, you don’t get.

9. SPEND TIME WITH HIS FRIENDS

Just like he should meet your friends, you need to meet his as well just for the same reasons. Friends do tell you a lot about the person you are dating. Observing him in his comfort zone, with his friends, will also tell you a lot about him.

10. START TO PLAN THINGS IN THE FUTURE

If he gets the sense that you are thinking of him as more than just a summer fling, he may be more likely to think of you that way as well. Suggest some activities that you could do after the summer and see how he reacts.

11. COMMUNICATE THE RIGHT WAY

Texting and emailing reduces interpersonal connection. Make sure you’re touching base by phone between outings. Show him that you’re a woman of substance who has interesting things to say.

12. DON’T BE A GOOD TIME GIRL

If you’re giving it up every time he sees you, and that’s pretty much all you do together, then the mystery in the relationship will quickly fade. Set the precedent early on. It’s much harder to back off than it is to speed things up.

13. PLAY A LITTLE HARD TO GET

You don’t want to drop everything the minute you see your phone light up. Show him that you have your own life by being unavailable sometimes, but don’t be too mysterious that he feels you are blowing him off. Men like a little bit of a chase. Give him enough to get his workout, but not so much that he’s exhausted.

14. DON’T PLAN TOO MUCH

After all, you need to know that planning too much won’t help you, but actually can ruin things. Don’t focus on a target too much because you won’t be yourself, and you will forget to enjoy doing stuff with him. Go out, have fun, talk and laugh, and forget about ‘planning,’ just be cautious that’s all.

A TODDLER’S ADVENTURE

TO THE SEA WORLD Confession: I am not a summer person, hush hush, yet vacation time, sea, sun and summer breeze are the best part of the summer to me, and they are actually worth waiting for or even better baring hot summer for. Beach and summertime is usually something we as adults long to enjoy, and feel like they are the getaways. Gazing at the sea, reading a good book and your favourite music can actually be a good way to heal a soul and clear a mind. But, the moment you have your little additions to your summer vacations, its no longer quite or relaxing as it used to be. Actually, it gets better but different, its all the fun you can experience with your kid’s spirit in you, the way they explore the beach usually takes your breath away, and wearing their little swim suits running here and there, oh God; it’s the most adorable thing. Now, you can start taking an enormous amount of photos and start enjoying with these cutie pies a different kind of summer. Usually, kids respond differently towards the beach & the sand, some kids may even have mixed feelings of acceptance and resistance towards the beach and the sea. My boy was blown away with his first experience on the beach when he was eight months old, he was very happy and excited about the water, sand and the best part was that by the time he was out of the sea, he would have a long nap, lucky me. Babies at that age enjoy the water and the splash sound of it, and as a mother, I was excited as if it was my first time to experience the beach seeing my baby’s reactions towards a new experience for the first time. You will never forget that memory, it will be documented forever, I will never forget the time I was putting my baby in his first swimsuit.

t

his month yummy mommy Youmna Gad shares with us her toddler’s first experience to the sea world and how it changes when he grows older… I remember when he was almost 18 months, he responded totally different to the scene, he hated the beach and the pool and got irritated by the sand and no matter how hard I tried to make him get excited about the water again, he would hide inside my clothes watching people, and sometimes scream. I remember I was worried if it would turn into a phobia, but I chose not to push him, and I was right. The funny part was watching other kids eating sand, which drove their mamas mad which made me feel comfortable that my kid is hiding. When he became 36 months old, his love to the sea & sand came back out of no where, and I started to fight to get him out of the water. When kids turn 3 years old, things get better and they really start enjoying and exploring that part of the world, the look in their eyes watching and memorizing new names of things is amazing and keeps melting my heart every time.

My beach time is no longer a book, an absolute gaze at the sea, or listening to my favourite type of music, my summertime now is a bit louder and busier yet, nicer, enjoyable and full of joy. That’s because the moment you see your kids’ pure smiles and hear their loud laughs, the vacation becomes more meaningful; it’s the actual meaning of vacation at this point of our lives. Through the several vacations I had with my kid since he was a baby, I have realized that packing is so important, I didn’t want to miss anything and be prepared for every incident that might happen. I made a list of important items and tricks for my summer packing. You can consider this list if it is your first time to travel on a summer vacation with your baby.

A PARENTAL TIPS A trick I use to keep mosquito bites away from my son is massaging his uncovered skin with baby oil at night, mosquitoes hate it, and you can try it on your skin too.

You value your time away from work and want to spend every second you have resting up and soaking in those rays. ON STAYING FIT, SUMMER & POLITICS

t

his month Lounge welcomes summer with stunning star Ghada Adel. The terrific mother of five reveals all in an exclusive one to one interview with Amira Tharwat about her role in her coming most anticipated TV serial ‘Saraya Abdeen,’ her diet tips and her wishes for Egypt during President Sisi’s reign. Tell us more about your role in Saraya Abdeen… I play the role of a servant at Khedive Ismail’s palace, a very simple girl who was in love with her colleague, but fate changed her destiny upside down to find herself one of the Khedive’s maids and Ismail’s favourite, and that is where the conflict starts between her, his wives and his mother. The serial is very rich with actions as it was made with a great budget, and I am really happy to be part of this serial. A lot of stars participated in the serial, are you pro this? This is actually the thing that encouraged me to accept my role. When a serial is full of stars and such big names it makes audience feel interested to watch the serial and know that it will be full of characters and actions. How was the shooting behind the scenes? Actually, most of the stars in the serial are my friends in real life like Nour whom I worked with before in ‘Malaky Iskendria’ and we became friends since then, Nelly Karim is my friend as well ever since we played our role as sisters in ‘Wagh El Amar’ TV serial, and of course Mai Kasab too. As for Yousra, working together for the first time resulted in a great relationship between us, she is such a beautiful person. All that plus other Arab stars that I get to know for the first time. Behind the scenes is really fun and I had a blast shooting this serial despite the difficulty of the character itself as sometimes I shoot drowning and murder scenes, but because of the great atmosphere it was a piece of cake. The first look of the serial’s trailer gives a feeling that it’s a copy of the Turkish Serial ‘Hareem El Sultan,’ what is your response to that especially that Kosay Kholy looks like Sultan Soliman? I haven’t watched ‘Hareem El Sultan,’ yes, there is some similarity not to the story itself but in the nature of this era. The story is totally different because it tackles Khedive Ismail’s history and of course the historical story is different however; yes there is a similarity between the conflicts the character face because that’s the nature of the age. If you google any of the character’s names in the serial, you will find him/her. Your latest TV serial ‘Makan Fel Kasr’ was shown recently and won huge success; do you think this broke the norm that any successful TV serial must be aired during Ramadan only? Actually, I am over the moon that it was not aired in Ramadan, in the beginning the cast was not happy about the idea of airing it before Ramadan, but I felt it would be great for the serial because all the serials in Ramadan are either too intense or farce comedy and ‘Makan Fel Kasr’ doesn’t belong to neither of the categories. The serial is very soft and has a romantic story like the Turkish serials. My intuition was right and I am very grateful for the feedback I got after it was aired. Who are the stars you are keen on watching this Ramadan beside stars of ‘Saraya Abdeen’? Adel Emam, Yehia El Fakharany, Ghada Abdel Razik, and Hend Sabry are the ones that I know their serials will be out in Ramadan. Unfortunately, I am not following because I am still shooting ‘Saraya Abdeen.’ Recently we saw a lot of selfies for you, Indji Ali and Menna Shalaby… The three of us met in Gouna; Indji & I are close friends, and Menna Shalaby is Indji’s friend so, the three of us met there and we really had fun to the point that we abused Instagram with our photos (laughs). So are you into technology? At all, I just love photos which made me a big fan of instagram and encouraged me to create an account. I like to watch photos related to fashion or natural scenery, but I don’t like social media sites that are full of writing and discussions like facebook or twitter, to me instagram does the job.

What is your favourite hotspot for relaxation? Sharm El Shiekh and Gouna, any place by the Red Sea in general, as for outside Egypt I love any country by the sea like Italy, Spain and Greece, but there is no place like Egypt for sure. After having five kids, how do you maintain your figure? In the beginning, I was never a fan of the gym, I was just watching what I eat, but now as I grow older I figured out that any body needs more than just a good diet to stay in shape so I started going. It’s great to go on a daily basis. Pray for me that I will be able to carry on, I’ve been hitting the gym only for 3 months now. What is your favourite perfume? I like flowery perfumes; I don’t like those with intensive smell. You know that smell that makes you feel fresh or as if you just came out of the shower!? That’s my favourite smell, I love jasmine in general. I don’t like to feel I have perfume on, I like the simple light smell of flowers.

Did you vote in the previous presidential elections? Yes of course I did and it was for Sisi. What are the things you ask him to do as the current Egyptian president? I will ask him to do all what he promised us to make this country better in all fields; education, medicine everything. This is a great country, you can feel that through the Arab world’s feeling being touched by what Egypt has witnessed recently, I ask him to make the country as it was or even better. In your last interview with Lounge, you were really depressed about the current situation of the country, are you more optimistic now? Sure, we all now have hope and I wish it’s real and I hope the coming years will make it up to us because the last phase of the Egyptian history was very gloomy and depressing. I wish things will get better for our children and the next generation in general. I miss feeling secured, but I am starting to feel it these days. I hope there won’t be poverty and we become independent as a country as one of the top countries in the world. There is no more time for conflicts anymore, it’s time to work and make this country better.

Looking back at the many roles that we have seen you portray in the past, it is a very dramatic trajectory that you have taken. How refreshing was it for you to let go with this film? For me, any job is refreshing because each one is so different. Drama can be refreshing as well. I have always said that I never want to go to work with my eyes closed and feel like I can do it. Doing this movie, there was definitely a sense of something that was foreign to me. It is scary because you just want to be able to deliver. It was a whole different process. Were you a fan of the western genre? I do have a soft spot for those old spaghetti westerns, and I always find myself flipping through the channels and landing on them. It’s always the same story but told a little differently. I love that world. Seth MacFarlane mentioned that you understood your character right away. Did you feel that in your early conversations with him? Yes, I think this humor is very specific; either you like it or you don’t. I think that is a reason why I haven’t done a lot of comedy. Most comedies have not been my taste, but I am a huge fan of what Seth does and a huge fan of “Family Guy.”Watching him work in his process is something that I have really responded to, so there was definitely a sense of us getting together and just automatically feeling the same way. It was the same way when I met with Patty Jenkins for MONSTER. It is a chemistry thing and thinking that we are on the same page. Can you tell us about Seth MacFarlane’s comedic tone? It is a very specific tone, and you have to figure out a way to fit into that tone. You can’t just do what Seth is doing or what Sarah Silverman is doing. You have to kind of find your own rhythm and fit into the storytelling. I think that when Seth touches upon things that people find sensitive, he always does it in a sense and a tone that makes me realize that he’s commenting on social issues in our world, which is sometimes better to do through humor than to simply preach. To kind of hide away from things or to only explore those themes in drama is very unfair. The arts are supposed to express what is happening in society, whether it’s drama or comedy. I find all of that commentary useful. Do you feel the film makes a commentary on the dynamic between a man who is not the alpha and a woman who is? I think Seth is actually right that there is

LOUNGE 42

something dramatically interesting about that dynamic. I guess watching a male ego have to recover from that bruise is interesting and also funny. It is the old saying that you have to create that opposite notion or something to ignite rivalry, but I always find it to be interesting when that male ego gets put in the mix. Shooting this film, were there scenes where you were not sure of what was happening regarding the timing of the humor? Even in situations when you are not sure, you have to go for it. In general, you have those days where you just don’t know how it’s going to turn out. Then, there are days when you completely own it, but it doesn’t end up working. Sometimes what you thought was a negative ends up being the greatest positive to a scene. The movie plays off the joke that back in the Old West there were so many different ways one could die on a daily basis. Have you ever been in an environment where you felt that way? I am from Africa. I’ve had experiences with spiders that were pretty bad! However, for me, it’s such a big part of my life and how I was raised. I was raised in farm life, but I went to art school in Johannesburg. I had a really good balance between the two that I don’t feel odd in one place or the other. I am very comfortable on a horse, and I am definitely very comfortable in the city. There is something to be said about growing up on a farm, especially in Africa, where it is rough and tumble. Does your sense of humor reflect your sensibility of growing up in South Africa? What makes you laugh? I think the kind of humor in this film was very reminiscent of what South Africans find funny. I think in a place of turmoil the humor points to that kind of brutal truth of what is happening in society. I always found that South Africans had a dry sense of humor and don’t like to take themselves too seriously. How was the atmosphere on set? Did you play pranks or was it very serious and businesslike? There were maybe a few pranks that were pulled on set, but I think the material, more than anything, was fun to work on. I think most of the time I was laughing because of the things that were just organically happening with different takes. We had a great time making the movie. This movie made me realize, in a big way, how much I love making movies. I did a movie before this film that was emotionally, physically and logistically very hard, so this movie really kind of brought back the joy.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF APRICOTS

Apricots are those beautifully orange coloured fruits full of beta-carotene and fiber that are one of the first signs of summer. Apricots are rich in many plant antioxidants. Some of these are the vitamin antioxidants so familiar to regular users of this site. Others are more difficult to obtain from other foods, and may be responsible for specific health benefits. Overall, consider the apricot to be a great food that provides you with the protective effects of antioxidants while adding very few calories to your daily total. Apricots contain a number of potent antioxidants, and are a good source of both vitamin A (from betacarotene) and vitamin C. The health benefits associated with each are multiple and welldocumented.

OMAR SAMRA t

his is the very core philosophy of Omar Samra’s Wild Guanabana: Samra’s travel company, which is centered on the belief that the world is an incredible place worth exploring and discovering. That by removing ourselves from the distractions of everyday life, and taking on new and challenging experiences, we grow and learn more about ourselves and the world, in ways we never thought possible.

DAYS AT THE 10HIMALAYA LOUNGE 46

“We fondly think of ourselves as a platform for Life Changing Journeys to unfold and know nothing more fulfilling than creating then sharing these experiences with others,” says Omar Samra. Samra leads two or three trips a year abroad; as well as locally from students and companies. The focus in students’ trips is on character building, leadership and self reliance. For companies, the trips are generally for general team building. Last May, Samra led a group on a 10-day Himalayan trekking trip in one of the most remote regions of the Nepalese Himalayas. Trekking through wilderness and from one small village to the next, the diversity of this trek is spectacular as one walks through Rhododendron forest and then, higher into the white Himalayan vistas and fantastic lush greenery. “Like all our trips, this trip caters for anyone with a passion for self discovery. Most of our clients have never been on an adventure trip in their lifetime,” says Samra. “We are always keen to offer the best destination value with a very competitive budget. In this trip, for example, the accommodation is designed in basic hotels in town and tea houses across the mountain with local families, which offers a great opportunity to experience this unique ethnic culture,” he added. Upon arrival to Kathmandu, the capital of Nipal, representatives from Wild Guanabana met the group at the airport and transported them to the hotel; giving them a briefing before departure the next day. “We have a very well trained team, who is very passionate; and we only travel to places we have been to ourselves and know the destination very well to be able to offer a first-hand experience and a memorable adventure,” comments Samra. As the trip began, the group trekked through the scenic valley until the Tamang settlement of Dunche, 2,030 meters high, to enjoy the views of this picturesque village overnight. On the next day, the group left the village and followed the trail passing the terraced potato fields, crossing over a small stream, and continued to climb up a steep ascent through lush forests and a cliff for a striking view of the rocky mountain of Gosaikund deep in the valley. Then, the trail continued on a ridge filled with Rhododendrons to Shing Gompa to visit a small cheese factory and an

old Buddhist monastery. On the fourth day, the trek followed a steep trail that bridges the rich moist forests on the northern slopes, which is the sanctuary for the red panda, an endangered species that the Nepali calls cat bear; and the dry scrub vegetation on the southern slopes. The trail reached Chalang Pati, entering the peaceful Goisakund protected area where animal killing, lighting wood fires and grazing goats are prohibited. The next day, the trek reached the largest lake known as Gosainkund Lake (4460m). The Lake has a black rock in the middle, said to be the head of Shiva. Legend has it, Shiva created the lake when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after consuming poison. Hundreds of pilgrims come here to worship and bathe during the full-moon festival each August. On this day Hindu men perform their annual change of Janai, a yellow cotton string worn across the chest or tied around the wrist of the right hand. This cord initiates Hindu Pilgrims into manhood and commands them to faithfully follow the religion. “The ‘triple cord’ is a symbol of body, speech and mind, and when the knots are tied the wearer is supposed to gain complete control over each,” Samra clarifies. On the sixth day, the trail skirted the shore of the lake Gosainkund before ascending towards the Laurebina Pass (4610m), through roofless stone herders’ huts, crossing several streams and passing two beautiful waterfalls, and overhanging rocks form a cave that is used as a campsite by trekkers to see the lights of herders. The trail continued through a thick Pine forest, before the final ascent to Tharepati (3490m), a grouping of small stone huts used in the summer by herders. The descent continued the next day to Thare Pati – Kutumasangu (2,471 meters), with magnificent views of the breathtaking Himalayan mountain of Annapurna and Masalsu. On the last day of the trek, the trail took in the sunrise over the snowcapped mountains, as the group started trekking down to Chisopani (2,194m), another spectacular view point and an opportunity to explore the tribal culture and mountain lifestyle, before continuing the trail across the Mulkharka and Shivapuri National Park, and drive back to Kathmandu.

One of London’s best kept secrets now opened its doors to visitors. Beefeater London: The Home of Gin, the Capital’s first dedicated gin distillery visitor centre, lifts the lid on the extraordinary stories and events behind one of the world’s favourite spirits. Beefeater gin is the only historic dry gin still distilled in the capital city and, as such, is uniquely qualified to tell the remarkable story of the history and production of gin in London. The interactive experience takes visitors on an enthralling journey through the cobbled Victorian street markets of Covent Garden, to the secret watering holes during prohibition, and allows fans of the spirit to get up close and personal with the fragrant botanicals used in the creation of gin. The tour continues with a walk through the live production process in the distillery’s cathedral-like still house, and ends with a complimentary drink – the classic Beefeater gin and tonic.

zodiac

Capricorn Dec.23 - Jan.20 In June 2014, your heart will be more tender and the body more vibrant, more predisposed to sweet pleasures. You’ll seduce without efforts, you’ll find proposals more attractive now and the universe will work towards bringing love in your way. There might be some shadows as well, especially in the second week of June 2014, all you’ll need to do will be to show it who to point its arrow at. Cheerfulness, playfulness, fun and creativity will also contribute to fulfilling the needs of the heart. In order for June 2014 to be fully happy, it will take a lot of communication. Sincere and honest communication, but friendly, kind and tactful, that can bring many benefits to your couple in the first half of the month. Also, June 2014 will be a very active month, with significant progress at the career level. Strategy, order and method will become more important than ever. Use them, because they will be at hand if you know what you want. And, it is now beginning to be clearer what you want to do with your career.

Aquarius Jan.21 - Feb.19 The first two decanates of June 2014 will be the time of flirts, of romantic affairs and especially of erotic experiences. And, because you like novelty and experiments, you won’t turn down any indecent proposal and you’ll be anxious to try new sensations and things in the privacy of your welcoming and stimulating love nest, excellent for both lighting the fire, and maintaining it. However, it is possible that at one point your gallant evolution intersects work and other current obligations in a not very happy way. You’d better not mix things, especially in the first part of the month. The most romantic period will be the last week of June 2014 and especially the last days. At the career level, you’ll have a great capacity to express yourself so you’ll do well with creativity and artistic manifestation, but you’ll also benefit from good physical vigor, which allows you to have high sportive performance.

Pisces Nicole Kidman, June 20, 1967

Feb.20 - Mar.21 This month, you will express emotions and feelings, of sentimental discussions, of romantic messages and love declarations. You’ll get close to the person beside you more easily, your company will be more pleasant and more desired. You’ll have sweet words, you’ll find the right thing to say and the music of your voice will seduce without warning. On the other hand, diplomacy could be very useful to you. The most fervent interests or problems, in case they appear, will be related to the accommodation, children or sexuality. Your thoughts will gravitate around the personal life rather than around the career. In June 2014, you’ll feel the need for privacy, for closer contacts with home, with nature and with the very close people in order to recharge your batteries before starting an attack again. It is possible that you will work from home or benefit from the support of the family as concerns matters of a professional nature. June 2014 will be a good period for mending things around the house or for re-negotiating a rental contract, but not for purchasing something new.

Aries Mar.22 - Apr.20

Happy Birthday

Gemini LOUNGE 62

This month, you will be able to settle things and direct them as desired when it comes to relationships. You will also be oriented towards stability and safety. You will be impregnated in the first week of June 2014 with some romantic thrills too. The sentimental life will be influenced by money, or financial decisions will be founded on sentimental reasons. The mix that results could be difficult to digest towards the end of the month. The last week of June 2014 will be happy and relaxing and could bring you interesting news or a significant meeting. At the career level, collaborations will begin to work more coherently and be more profitable. In the second week of June 2014, you could face a financial block or experience another trouble of a material nature.

Taurus

Gemini

Apr.21 - May 21

May.22 - Jun.21

June 2014 will bring along chance and understanding, and stimulate closeness and give birth to favourable circumstances so that love flourishes. In this period you’ll look sexier, you’ll have the power to attract and seduce more easily, you’ll behave in a more loving way and will receive proofs of affection and tenderness. It’ll be the right time to start a new relationship, to initiate reconciliation or improve your cohabitation with the person next to you. In June 2014, there will be some interaction between love and daily tasks (job-related or others). An affair might begin at the workplace or the couple tasks might be settled and assigned. If the partner faces work or health problems, your help will be very important. You will also work very hard this month and, as it seems, with pleasure. Your professional life will be dynamic, and the coordination will be much better.

This month will be associated with disappointment, sadness or loneliness. Fortunately, the troubles will go away at the end of the month. At the career level, your authority will strengthen, your prestige will grow, your self-confidence will be higher, your vigor will be bigger, so you’ll have everything you’ll need to carry out your projects. Yet, there might appear some delays or mix-ups concerning money. Therefore, it is recommended that you avoid important transactions and are careful what you buy or do with money. Also, from June 7th to the end of the month (but especially after June 17th) you’ll need to weigh your decisions carefully and take action cautiously and patiently, because sometimes things can have atypical or slower than usual developments. Your axis of health will also be quite loaded. You should spare yourself, avoid tiredness and tense situations. Stay away from toxins and excesses.

Cancer

Leo

Jun.22 - Jul.23

Jul.24 - Aug.23

Your social life will intensify and you’ll gladly take part in all sorts of parties, in activities that will gather a lot of people, like congresses, shows or reunions of some organizations. These immersions in collective activities represent as many chances to start a new relationship or to improve the existing one. A friend may introduce you to somebody or play the role of the mediator. It is also possible that the spirit of friendship will prevail over Cancer’s relationships. The period will be favorable to the couple’s good time together, but also to deciding on some joint projects for the medium or long term. The days in the middle of June 2014 will need to be approached tactfully, because they can bring blocks or other complications, sincere and open communication will help.

Your relationships this month will be in the spotlight, we can even say that they will be in the center of the others’ attention. It is possible that your relationships come to be connected with the career or the public life. Some professional decisions could be influenced by the professional life or vice versa. On the other hand, you’ll have quite high expectations of the other one, or the attraction that you’ll feel for somebody will be according to their status, fame or performance. The second week of June 2014 foreshadows to be rather tense, so watch out and try to avoid confrontations or conflicting discussions. Maybe you give it a try to see if you can give in from time to time, show your tender and generous side. At the career level, everything will go more smoothly.

Virgo

Libra

Aug.24 - Sep.23

Sep.24 - Oct.23

June 2014 will be a month in which your sentimental life won’t fit the usual borders, either geographically, or mentally. You’ll be drawn to remote places. You can travel together with your partner, take a sentimental trip, or feel the thrills of love for somebody hundreds or thousands of miles away. In June 2014, you won’t want a person by your side to go shopping with or watch TV in the evening, but a person to look up along with you, to open broad horizons of culture and spirituality, to help you evolve or to evolve along with you. Maybe you won’t see eye to eye all the time (and this could be more visible at the middle of June 2014), but you’ll definitely need to share your thoughts, impressions, visions, projects. And, the projects need to be noble and grand. Also, this month promises success and fulfillment at the career level.

In June 2014, your couple life will not exactly be smooth. Some clarification can occur, but not very peacefully, or your partner can go through some difficult moments. Until June 23rd 2014, your love and companionship life won’t be in a great situation either. The period can nevertheless be excellent for analyzing the couple problems or the psychology of the person next to you, or for obtaining information that can improve cohabitation and erotic expression. At the career level, you will overcome some limits, extend your knowledge, and diversify your experience in the first two decanates of June 2014. The best way to do it is by culture, studies or traveling. Here you can have nice achievements, but it is still here that you have to weigh your decisions carefully.

Scorpio

Sagittarius

Oct.24 - Nov.22

Nov.23 - Dec.22

This month will generate warmth and benevolence on partnerships, both on the sentimental ones and on the work or business ones. You’ll show special attention to the couple and in which you’ll have a lot to offer to your significant other. The need to interact and share will be stronger than ever. The thirst for love will be very big, you’ll want proofs of affection and gestures of tenderness. If you don’t have a relationship, you’ll strive to build one and you’ll use all your capacity to seduce in order to achieve it. You’ll generally prove more benevolence and tolerance, you’ll even be ready to make some compromises for the good development of things. June 2014 will be auspicious and favourable to happiness; use it fully. At the career level, it will be a month of analysis and introspection.

In June 2014, the partner will become the most important person in the universe. Work and money will be seriously involved, either influencing the relationship or being influenced by it. Anyway, you’ll invest a lot in the other one and you’ll have, in your turn, quite high expectations. Things could evolve atypically or maybe even in a bothering way after June 7th 2014. Older problems will be under discussion again, the flaws of the relationship will be examined. With patience, in a few weeks there will be conclusions and solutions, communication is essential. At the career level, all clues lead to the idea that this month will be focused on cooperation. Regardless of what you want to do, you’re meant to do it with the others. Career and work cannot be described in other words than: partnership, collaboration, mutual support, friendship, etc.
