moke Media is the University of Westminster’s student-led media collective. We produce a monthly 16-page newspaper and 28-page magazine, broadcast live radio shows 24/7, and produce regular videos and video livestreams. We are operated and led entirely by student volunteers, and are supported by staff at the University of Westminster Students’ Union. The QH newspaper publishes news and features affecting our audience, including local stories, national news from the
student movement and national politics. Smoke Mag specialises in culture and lifestyle content, including how to make the most of London on a student budget. Smoke Radio airs shows with mass appeal during the day, and after 5pm specialist and spoken word shows take over, catering to a vast range of niche music tastes and interests. Smoke Media volunteers receive training for their roles and are committed to upholding all relevant professional and ethical codes.

he QH newspaper and Smoke Mag are now printed every fortnight, distributed for free at all our central London campuses (including Regents’ Street) and up in Harrow. Smoke Radio broadcasts 24/7 during term-time, producing over 3000 hours of live radio every year. We reach a broad profile of students from all walks of life. Our audience are highly connected, heavy consumers of mobile content, and are influential online. They’re interested in current affairs, travel and international issues. They’re also keen on London culture and nightlife. More than anything else, they love a discount.
