The fall weather has been spectacular thus far and it is wonderful to see so many members enjoying the facilities around the Club.
The recent Ladies Member Guest event was extremely well done having received very positive feedback from all who participated. Thank you to the great staff involved to deliver on our brand promise. We look forward to the Men’s Member Guest event which was rescheduled to this month due to the Hurricane Ian.
Please join me in welcoming Craig Kandravi, our new Club Manager, along with Robert Mosco, our new Food and Beverage Manager. Craig and Robert bring new ideas for the club calendar and will strengthen our training standards for the dining areas. Their highest areas of focus will be on Friday and Saturday evening programming and consistent food and beverage service at Waves.
As we move toward hiring a permanent General Manager, it will be important for the professional staff and Board to receive feedback from you on the club amenities specifically pertaining to your levels of satisfaction and use of various recreation and dining areas on the upcoming Member Survey. For example, Waves is a very active amenity which the membership has varying opinions on regarding the hours of operation and scale of services. We ask for your input to the Member Survey for us to properly schedule and program
what the consensus of members desire opposed to a vocal minority. Management’s commitment to fulfill member satisfaction can be challenging due to the varying opinions and inputs. The Member Survey will provide great information and clarity to the direction so we may bring forward a consistent program and standard to please as many of our members we can.
I would like to thank the management team during my three-month tenure for their great support. You are fortunate to have such a dedicated group of professionals not only in the management level but throughout all departments. It has been an honor to work with such a great group who are very proud of working at Wexford. As we enter the holiday season, I
you all a very blessed
families and friends and to celebrate each day with good health and happiness.
with
Kind regards and best,
As our Wexford family prepares for the busy holiday season ahead, we’re thankful for many things, including a mild storm season here in Hilton Head this year thus far. We send our good thoughts and best wishes to all our members during this season, especially those whose families or friends to the south or north were impacted by the recent hurricane.
Vince Sullivan PresidentIn the spirit of thanksgiving, we recently held a celebratory Committee Happy Hour for all 2022 committee volunteers and Wexford department managers. It was an upbeat evening with great conversation and a fun way to show Wexford’s appreciation to our committee members for their time and efforts during a very busy and challenging year. Thank you all for your civic contribution to our beautiful community. As we begin to prepare for the new year, please remember to consider applying for one of our 13 committees in 2023. Further information and application details will follow in separate announcements over the coming weeks.
The highlights of our Employee Engagement Survey were presented by Craig Martin at the Community meeting in October. Craig also announced that the Member Satisfaction Survey would be coming in early November. These surveys will not only provide valuable insight for Wexford’s management and Board but will also serve as a benchmark to compare our future performance year over year. Thanks to committee
members and staff who worked together to develop survey questions on topics relevant to Wexford, and to also to our staff and members who have embraced these surveys to help us better serve Wexford’s members.
Craig Martin will conclude his full-time, on-site interim General Manager role in November; however, I’m pleased to say that Craig will continue to work with us on a remote and periodic on-site basis for the next few months as our GM search progresses and a new GM is hired. We are currently nearing the final stages of GM interviews. Craig’s experience and insight into Wexford’s operations and member expectations will be valuable for us to draw on as we transition to a new GM.
Some key dates upcoming for Wexford members are as follows:
November 2 - Special meeting & announcement of Amenities Plan Vote results
November 3 - Candidates night for new Board candidates
November 11 – Ballots for Annual Meeting distributed to membership
November 15 - Budget Workshop to aid members in understanding considerations and assumptions included in the 2023 ballot
December 7 – Annual Meeting electronic voting closes December 9 – Annual Meeting
Thanks for all you do to make Wexford the premier place to live and work in Hilton Head!!
Sincerely,
Please consider donating to the Wexford Employee Holiday Fund, a time-honored tradition, to show our appreciation of the staff’s dedication and commitment to elevating the Wexford experience, contribute to the beauty and sense of community we enjoy each day and make Wexford one of the premier communities in Hilton Head.

2022 Annual Meeting
December 9th at 4:00pm
Sylvia and I are relative newcomers to Wexford, having moved here from Raleigh, North Carolina. We first visited in 2019 looking for an active retirement community with milder winters and fell in love with Wexford.
I am a retired Orthopaedic Surgeon that practiced for 28 years in Raleigh with the Bone and Joint Surgery Clinic. I specialized in Sports Medicine and adult reconstructive surgery, and in addition to full time private practice, I spent 21 years as the team Orthopaedic Surgeon for North Carolina State Wolfpack football.
I have served on several boards, including being appointed twice by the Governor of North Carolina to the State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, the Board of Governors for Capitol City Surgical Center, amongst others. My experience includes managing our seven-man Orthopaedic practice for many years. Though this is a small business it required my direct involvement in
insurance contract negotiations, human resources, implementation of electronic medical records and IT as well as being responsible for daily operations.
I, along with one of my partners, developed the plan for an 11-room outpatient surgery center. In partnership with Wake Medical Center and other surgical partners, that I secured, we took the facility from concept, design, and construction to full operational status. It remains the largest outpatient surgery center in Wake County. I served on the steering committee that brought the facility in on time and 20% below projected budget with quality and operational efficiency that exceeded that of the hospital partner. As part of the medical staff at Duke and UNC hospitals, I served on multiple committees throughout my tenure including the Ethics Committee, Utilization review, Quality Assurance, and Surgical staff amongst others. We love Wexford and given the active nature and the recent history I believe it would be a good time to have a Physician on the Board with expertise in both Sports
medicine and Infectious diseases. I would also bring the experience of running a successful small business where the key to competing with the big hospitals and university systems was cooperation, results and customer satisfaction.
Wexford is going through some growing pains, in part due to demographic changes as well as the need to maintain, update and improve our facilities. The next board will have the challenge of navigating through necessary changes at a time of great economic uncertainty. In order to preserve and improve the quality of life in our neighborhood the board must understand the realistic desires of the residents, offer options with a cost benefit analysis of each and deliver on what is ultimately decided.
I think my experience as a physician and healer will hopefully help to bring us together as a community. My career as a successful businessman allows me to bring a broad range of skills to the board including experience with property development.
Thanks for your friendship and support and if elected I will serve with the consent and best interest of all the owners.
My wife, Suzie, and I have owned and lived in Wexford for four years. We love the members we have met, the amenities and the beauty of the neighborhood. As a firstyear member of the Wexford Governance Committee, I feel I have brought a different perspective and approach to the challenges, issues, and policies of the Board.
My overriding objectives are:
1) Increasing transparency, representation and communication between the Board and the Wexford Members
2) Consistency in administering the rules and regulations
3) Incorporating South Carolina and Hilton Head’s sustainability objectives
4) Maintaining and increasing Wexford home values based on any and all Board decisions.
I am currently President and Chief Operating Officer of Ojai Energetics Public Benefit Corporation. The company holds the majority of IP coverage pertaining to the cannabis plant globally and provides a variety of products from pharmaceuticals to supercapacitors to building supplies. In my prior role as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Pike Corporation, I had a broad portfolio of responsibilities including human resources, corporate
communications, government and regulatory relations, legal affairs, and corporate administration in addition to serving as senior counselor to the Chairman/CEO. Before joining Pike, I served as Vice President of the Comcast Corporation where I oversaw employee safety, environmental programs, operational & HR compliance, business continuity, sustainability, and facility management for over 3,500 facilities and I was a member of the mergers and acquisition team evaluating, closing and integrating close to 100 transactions.
As a native of Kentucky, I graduated from Bellarmine University with a B.A. in Business Administration, completed post-graduate work at Rutgers University, and I am a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional.
I currently serve as a Board Member for Give Water, Give Life and the American Made Filtration Corporation in addition to the Global Advisory Council for the Presidential Precinct and as a National Science Foundation Energy Advisor for Columbia University’s NYCRIN program. Previously I served on the National Safety Council Board of Directors, as a Good Will Ambassador for Armed Forces Motorsports and on the US Department of Homeland Security’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee as a member of the Communication Section Coordinating Committee, Pandemic Ad-Hoc Task Force and Electrical Sector Committee. Additionally, I was appointed to the South Carolina Energy Committee/Council by Governor Nikki Haley.
As a member of the Wexford Board of Directors, I would bring a fresh perspective and focus to our community, and I would consider it a privilege to work together with neighbors and administration to achieve our shared goals. I strongly believe we should honor and respect other’s viewpoints and approach each situation and person with respect and dignity.
I respectfully ask to be considered for a Board of Director’s position.
Jim and I moved to Hilton Head Island in 2009 shortly after retirement. It did not take long to assimilate into the Wexford Community and soon established wonderful friendships, and a lifestyle that offered many opportunities to immerse ourselves in the community. Jim was given sage advice years ago by a friend “Don’t move where your children live, move where they will want to visit you”. Wexford has certainly provided us that place. Both families visit often. We love living here and hope to
continue enjoying all Wexford has to offer for many years to come.
I graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S. in Education, continued with Graduate Studies in Early Childhood Education at The University of Maryland, and received an M.S in Severely Profoundly Handicapped from Johns Hopkins University.
Most of my teaching career was in Special Education, Early Intervention, Birth to Three. As an Early Intervention Specialist, I assessed, developed, and implemented educational programs for families and assisted them as they negotiated the school system’s Special Education Program, and the challenges and difficulties of the new normal for their family. To the families I was often an advocate for their special needs child, but at times had to reverse roles and be a spokesperson for school systems policies in lieu of what the family desired. However, throughout my career I was able to maintain a good working relationship with my families regardless of the role I was playing.
During my career I was selected staff in the opening of two new schools in Howard County, Maryland, and team leader of the Regional Early Childhood Center’s staff in three different schools.
Since retirement, I have been active both on Hilton Head Island and in Wexford. Early on I volunteered at Hilton Head Hospital, and the Beaufort County Schools Early Childhood Center. Currently, I am on the Board of The Children’s Center and serve on the Governance Committee. In Wexford, I have served on the House and Social Committee, and the ASC Committee. I am a current member and past president of the Wexford Event and Travel Club and have chaired or co-chaired several committees in ETC. I am also on the Board of WWGA. As to enjoying Wexford’s amenity offerings I play golf, pickleball, mahjong, and bridge. Being so involved provides many opportunities to engage in conversations and gauge the pulse of the community.
My career and volunteer work has helped me develop the ability and skills to be open minded and view all sides of an issue, use listening as a key component in discussion, how to work toward difficult solutions through compromise, and the need to be able to separate personal emotions while dealing with difficult and challenging situations. If elected to the board, I would hope to bring these strengths to the table as I represent the membership as a whole and work to provide reasonable oversight and governance as we move our club forward through the current challenges we are facing.
A little background for your reference; I met my beautiful and lovely wife Karen in California 40+ years ago while I was in the Navy. We have one talented and brilliant daughter Paige who resides in Columbia, South Carolina, with her husband Christopher.
After graduating from the University of San Francisco with a BS in Human Development and Organizational Behavior, we moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to begin the first of two phases of my business career. I spent 25+ years in automotive retail for three organizations. In the latter years of this phase of my career, I was responsible for logistics, marketing and store operations for a $5.0 billion public company, with the privilege of leading 25,000+ employees.
In my second career, I was President and COO for a family-owned $4.0 billion U.S. Division of a multi-national electrical distribution business. This was a very unique experience as the controlling families started the business in France and has expanded to 38 countries to date. I joined them in 2008 and fought hard to weather the economic crisis while ensuring we could capture market share as the construction and manufacturing business cycles went thru the recovery.
I officially retired in 2013 and now live full-time in Hilton Head for several reasons. Karen and I love the island and all the exclusive amenities of Wexford. The folks we have met here and spend time with are talented, fun-loving, and kind-hearted which makes this a very special place to reside (and relax!).
Wexford Experience — Board Member Wexford 20132019; and was honored to hold the title of President of the Board from 2016 to 2019 as well as Vice President in 2015. I worked with the management team as Secretary of the Wexford Yacht Club (2014) and Long-Range Planning (2014), as well as the Golf Committee (2015).
We all know (I hope) that the only way we sustain our wonderful community is pitching in and helping out. Many, many people on the committees understand this as well. So, with your endorsement I’ll continue to do what I have done for the community in prior years: help to balance the needs/desires of all members with the limits we have on maintaining costs levels that are competitive and prudent.
I will continue to work hard to make sure all owners have a voice and hold management accountable to drive efficiency and productivity while providing us all with the quality of service and amenities we desire.
We have experienced a serious setback to the community during the failure of the last General Manager. My expectation is that we will recruit a person with sensitivity and awareness of our culture and someone who has strong commitment to supporting and retention and growth of our staff. I will ensure the Board of Directors appoints a mentor for the next General Manager to avoid the mistakes of the past.
My wife, MC, and I have been coming to Hilton Head for over 20 years. In 2012, we chose Wexford to build our southern home here based on the inherent beauty of the community, the quality of the people and the excellent golf course. Our home, which was completed in 2016, has been our primary residence since 2019 though we usually spend some of the summer months in Metropolitan New York where our children (Paul C. and Carolyn) reside.
I attended Georgetown University and NYU and spent the next 10 years with Manufacturers Hanover Smith Barney in banking, finance and real estate. I was an original partner of a startup real estate investment company sponsored by the Dreyfus Corporation (now DRA Advisors). Serving as Senior Managing Director over the next 30 years, we built the company into one of the most established U.S. real estate investment firms serving domestic and international investors.
I have been actively involved in club and community involvement as well as nonprofit service. In the Wykagyl Country Club, I served on multiple committees and two separate boards responsible for a $5 million clubhouse renovation and a $6.5 million total golf course renovation. I have also been on the Advisory Committee to the original founder of Chechessee Creek.
On non-profits, I was the founding board member and the President of MAC Angels in Metropolitan New York which has assisted 500 families impacted by ALS. I also served for 10 years on the Board of Iona Preparatory School where I restructured their endowment investment program creating scholarships for qualified student athletes.
In Wexford, I currently serve as a Trustee and Development Chair of The Wexford Foundation. I have also served on several committees including Golf, Greens & Grounds, Long-Range Planning and the Playability Task Force.
Based on our interest in philanthropy, MC and I feel very fortunate to be part of the warm and generous Wexford
community. However, two years of Covid, leadership problems and significant turnover of membership suggests that we need to do more to bring people together. We need to foster trust and respect among owners, employees, and those who volunteer their time and talents. Based on my career of service, I hope to be able to use those skills to help bring unity to Wexford.
While my passion is principally in golf, I care about continually enhancing the Wexford experience for everyone. That means that we all should continuously strive to enhance all amenities and operations conscientiously and cost-effectively. I support the plans for the Harbour Center and Clubhouse. With the burgeoning growth of Wexford, our existing facilities are clearly inadequate. I think the committees and Board have worked diligently in recent years to formulate what the membership want and their current plans reflect this. We should also have confidence that we will hire effective management and be able to staff any expanded amenities appropriately. I would also hope that we will go beyond our own parochial interests and make investment decisions in the collective interest of the whole Wexford community.
My sister-in-law, Mary Faas, introduced us to Wexford many years ago. Liz and I loved the area and have owned property on Hilton Head since 2005. Having lived in various parts of the country, we wanted to retire closer to family and have been members since 2011. Wexford is an idyllic place. The portfolio of amenities, natural simplicity of our surroundings, and shared social experience are second to none. Liz and I participate in many clubs and events at Wexford, and I enjoy the camaraderie and friendly competition of several of my golf and tennis groups. Over the past two years, I have routinely attended Board meetings and am a member of the Finance Committee. We are so happy to call Wexford our permanent home.
I hold a BS in Microbiology and Public Health and a Master in Hospital and Health Administration. Professionally, I have served in various executive roles (CEO and COO) with non-profit hospitals and healthcare systems. I would describe myself as analytical in my thinking, inclusive in my process, intuitive in my deliberations, and guided by common sense. As an Executive, I have overseen strategic planning and deployment processes and been accountable for the development and execution of Annual Operating Plans and Master Facility Plans. My volunteer governance experience includes serving on boards
for various, community-based healthcare and service organizations whose mission was to meet the needs of the poor and underserved. The capstone of my career was when our healthcare system was recognized as a role model in the healthcare industry and awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2020.
Much like a private community such as Wexford, governance and leadership in healthcare requires the ability to engage with and develop consensus amongst a diverse group of stakeholders and constituents (e.g., physicians, community members, employees, governmental agencies, insurers). There is also a reliance on committees serving critical, fiduciary roles in strategic planning, financial oversight, marketing, fundraising, employee relations and facility planning. I believe my personal attributes and professional background make me uniquely qualified to serve on the Board during this pivotal time in our community’s narrative.
With the leadership transition and vote for the Amenities Plan underway, Wexford is at an important juncture, requiring thoughtful dialogue and decisionmaking. While I acknowledge and can appreciate the tremendous amount of work that has gone into advancing the Amenities Plan and support a significant capital investment in our facilities, I do not believe we have yet developed a plan that effectively captures and responds to member feedback. Whatever the outcome of the vote and, if elected, I would work diligently with the Board to execute and oversee the approved Amenities Plan.
A Board member’s role involves striving to discern the voice of membership — a tall order indeed! At Wexford, there exists a confluence of opinions that aren’t always aligned, making consensus building a challenge. Despite this, I believe that diversity is our strength, and we all benefit by unifying around our commonalities and safeguarding our civility. Never has this been more important than now, as we work toward recapturing some of the “culture” that once defined our community. I remain optimistic about our future and, if elected, pledge to listen, hear your voice, and apply my financial and operational acumen to help grow and sustain our community going forward.
I have chosen to run for our Board of Directors because of my passion and adoration for the place we all call home, and because I feel I have a skill set that is uniquely relevant to this chapter in our community’s history.
My wife, Amy, and I bought our home on Wicklow in 2015. The welcoming staff of Wexford and the residents we met, combined with our Harbour, led us to want to settle here. We chose Wexford not because of a house we found, but because of the place.
From a career perspective, I often explain to people that I have made a great living building things and fixing things. In my 40-year career I have had the pleasure of building one of the fastest growing banks in the country, serving one of the nation’s most efficient and profitable banks for more than 20-years and saving a national retailer and public company from bankruptcy and reputational disaster.
I have been either CFO or CEO of a public company since I was 34-years old and that makes me hard-wired for complete and utter honesty and, even more importantly, complete accountability to shareholders. Each of us in Wexford is a shareholder in this community and we deserve a Board that takes this volunteer experience even more seriously than a paid position or a job.
As part of my personal due diligence in making this decision to run, I have attended, and will continue to through elections, at least one or more of each of our Standing and Advisory Committees to ensure I am up to speed on current issues and challenges. This is the same homework I would do taking on any new project, and it has already proven to be extremely valuable in being prepared to jump in immediately as a new member of our Board. Professional interests and strengths that are relevant to this time in Wexford include:
• Leading organizations, especially those facing internal or external challenges, and stagnant shareholder value
• Managing organizations in crisis, especially those desiring to survive and rebuild
• Effectively reorganizing or restructuring assets – both hard and soft
• Identifying and retaining talent – both internal and external – and utilizing a proven track record of mentorship and development
• Applying knowledge gained through a history of creating shareholder value even in times of organizational stress
I graduated from Rhodes College (Memphis, Tennessee) with BA in Economics and Business Administration, and, with $40 in my pocket, sat and passed the CPA exam. I am humbled to this day to be able to live in such a beautiful place with such talented and caring people.
I would welcome the opportunity to have a conversation with any of you who would like to visit with me directly in the coming weeks. Feel free to contact me at 804.678.9894 (cell/text) or at john@presley-consulting.com.
Born and raised in Delaware County, Pennsylvania (DELCO BOY), Craig has always had a passion for the hospitality industry ever since he started working at a local country club back his senior year of high school. He lived in Miami, Florida, for eight years and managed a country club in Marathon, Florida, and then moved on to hotels for a time.
Craig met his wife Marie when he returned north and managed Hershey Country Club where her mother was the dining room manager and introduced them. Their jobs then brought them to Hilton Head where they were married at Windmill Harbor. Their careers took them back to Pennsylvania two years later where Craig served as the General Manager/COO of several country clubs in the suburbs of Philadelphia and vicinity.
Craig attended North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and studied Business Administration. His hobbies include spending time with Marie, playing golf, sports cars and boating. During his Miami days, Craig was a Professional Offshore Powerboat racing champion driver.
Prior to coming to Wexford, Robert was with Montage Palmetto Bluff where he served as General Manager of the Octagon, the premier restaurant of the resort and oversaw all resort bar functions. During his tenure, Robert played a role in the resort achieving the prestigious Forbes five-star award, given to the top luxury resorts in the world. He was also instrumental in seeking and developing talented individuals that could maintain the level of standards and service to Palmetto Bluff members and guests. Robert also participated in task force opportunities relating to grand openings of other Montage resorts, food and beverage summits and is currently in the process of achieving his sommelier certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
Robert held several roles within the industry from ownership, development of concepts, design and construction, licensing and management. His principle techniques of food sales and marketing, analyzing financial statements, forecasting and production plans are his favorite skill set.
Robert attended the University of Florida and will tout the Gator Nation. He is a seven-year Hilton Head transplant originally from Pass-a-Grille Beach, Florida, where he met his wife Kirsten of 28 years. They have two adult sons and a Bull Mastiff named Duke.

Adding drop shots to your game is a great way to improve the variety of your game. If you are used to playing a predominantly baseline game, playing a soft, short drop shot may not come naturally. However, this can give you a tactical and mental edge on the court since you know you will always have an ace up your sleeve.
Drop shots act as an element of surprise when executed correctly since they completely change the pace of the rally and the court position of both players. A well disguised drop shot can freeze an opponent in their tracks, and plant a seed of doubt in their head for the rest of the match.
This is an added bonus of using drop shots, as your opponent will never know when you will play the next one, meaning they may hedge their bets and step further inside the court. With the threat of a drop shot occurring, this can then make playing deeper balls even more effective!

Q: When did USTA adult league tennis begin?
A: 1980. The first year of league tennis there were 13,000 players. In 2021 there were over 350,000 registered players!
Getting to the Kitchen Line or 7 Foot line is very important to be successful in Pickleball. Here are three basic ways of getting there.
1. Return serve and immediately move to Kitchen Line.
2. When serving if the return comes to you try the third shot drop and move into Kitchen Line.
3. When serving and the return goes to your partner, immediately move into Kitchen Line non hitter movement.
Try these out the next time you play and see the improvement.

The Wexford Boat Commissioning ceremony was held on October 9th, commissioning eight new boats into Wexford Harbour. Nautical tradition was on display, and so were the cocktails, as champagne bottles were smashed on the bows of boats!
In addition to the commissioning, a new Yacht Club Commodore and a new Vice Commodore were announced. Standing in for Commodore Cathy Sumpter was immediate Past Commodore Peter
Carlson, who on Commodore Sumpter’s behalf, thanked the Harbour staff and Yacht Club Committee members for an excellent 2022 boating season. Carlson then presented Steve Duvall with his new Commodore badge and flag, and Commodore Duvall’s first order of business was to promote Amy Presley as the new Vice Commodore.
With ceremonial festivities complete, the crowd retired to the Clubhouse for a great dinner buffet.
Are these sailboats we are seeing in the harbour?
In conjunction with the Wexford Yacht Club’s junior sailing program initiative, we have partnered with the Heritage Academy and their sailing program to our mutual benefit. This year, Wexford took delivery of four brand new “Optimist” sailboats, which are widely used for teaching kids sailing, and will be used in our junior sailing program.
Heritage Academy has ASA Certified Instructors (certification
is required to teach sailing) and have agreed to provide their instructors for Wexford’s program. And in return, we provide space and a safe place for Heritage Academy to conduct their program.
Watch for announcements soon on the start of Wexford’s program! In the meantime, you’ll see Heritage’s sailboats (a different model called a 420) in and outside of the harbour.
Take a moment to watch to see what fun sailing can be!
November 16th-18th
The Wexford Yacht Club is planning our annual trip to Beaufort on November 16th - 18th. This event is always a good time and includes Docktails, a group dinner, plenty of shopping opportunities and several different historic tours available. Non-boaters and small boat owners are welcome on this trip. There are many bed and breakfast options in the downtown area.
You will need to make your own arrangements on Dockwa for a slip as soon as possible as this is during the southern migration and space has been difficult to get this season. Please email Al Klein to let him know that you plan on going and how many will be in your group.

ETC’s Charcuterie Evening was a great success. Debbie at Hazel Dean instructed us on how to create personal charcuterie boards for each attendee to take home. Everyone
enjoyed the wine as well! Congratulations to Local Committee co-chairs Teresa Kelly and Brian Nelson for organizing yet another memorable event!
On behalf of the “Rays,” adults with disabilities at Pockets Full of Sunshine, thank you to the Wexford staff and friends for hosting a magnificent fun day!
Patrick Mason and Brian Kiggans kicked off the day with pickleball drills and thrills and played some great music to move and groove to! The grand finale was an exhibition with the pros and PFS job coaches! Exercise and smiles were abundant and everyone is still wondering “where is the pickle?”
The crew then enjoyed a leisure walk to the Harbour Center and an al fresco picnic before boarding the Wexplorer. The harbour tour was both educational and very relaxing. Big shout out to Captain Mark Dryden for organizing and ordering a perfect day of blue skies and sunshine! “The best day ever,” exclaimed Jason, one of the Rays.
Special thanks to members Mark Brown, Cat Socha, and Dana and Dieter Sommer for joining us and all the hugs and high fives. It was a very happy day and one the Rays will never forget. Thank you Wexford for your kind ways and for making a difference.
Carol Bartholomew Member Co-founder, Pockets Full of Sunshine Pocketsfullofsun.orgAs we wind down our 10th Anniversary year, the Wexford Foundation is once again asking Wexford members to help us to continue the valuable work we are doing to support the many adults and children in our community who are suffering from a lack of food, housing, medical attention, and education.
This year, the Foundation will be making a concerted effort to broaden our donor base. We are pleased to announce that to support this effort one of our very generous Trustee members, Paul McEvoy together with his wife MC, have pledged $50,000 in matching funds for every donation we receive from a new or first-time donor. We sincerely hope that many prospective donors will take advantage of the McEvoy’s generous offer and help us raise up to $100,000 in new funding to support programs that help those in need in our local community.
If you can, please help us by sending a check to the Wexford Foundation, P.O. Box 4100, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928 or by asking Wexford Finance to charge your donation directly to your Wexford account. On behalf of the Trustees and volunteers of the Wexford Foundation, thank you for your consideration and your support.
The Foundation is pleased to announce that Harvey and Pam Geiger have become the first Charter Members of the Legacy Society with their bequests of $250,000. Other members who include or have included the Foundation in their estate planning this year will also become Charter Members of the Wexford Foundation Legacy Society.
The Foundation is proud to announce that once again our Business Sponsors have continued to provide their support during this special 10th Anniversary year.
South State Bank, Island Environments, Howell Chase Heating and Air and Arbor Nature Tree Experts are
all sponsoring the Wexford Foundation again this year and we truly appreciate their support. These companies already have strong customer connections with Wexford members and hopefully you will give them your consideration when you need any of the services that they provide.
