LITERARY LOCATIONS
Getting away... Away from the towns and cities, Pennine Yorkshire has mile after mile of moorland, offering the perfect opportunity for groups to experience the great outdoors on way-marked pathways and trails. Amongst the moorland, perhaps most fondly recognisable is the village of Holmfirth, a filming location for the long-running BBC1 television series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. Located inside the building that came to be known as Compo’s house, the Last of the Summer Wine Exhibition contains memorabilia from the series and footage from the show.
