There’s no substitute for experience. And I’ve got over twenty years’ time served under my belt. That means I know the secret to the perfect chair is finding that elusive balance between support and softness. There are certain things you learn with experience that achieve this, say for example, only using premium foams, such as ‘Super Bultex’ for cushioning. There really are no short cuts, just skilled craftsmanship and lots of pain-staking hard work. That, plus attention to detail, like making sure you ‘over-wrap’ extra layers in areas of high contact, like the chair arms.”

What makes a Shackletons chair unique? To make the best, we only use the best. So, for our frames, we use beech hardwood. Beech is favoured by furniture manufacturers because its highly dense grain gives it exceptional strength and stability and guards against twisting or warping. Its even grain also means there are fewer blemishes, giving a more attractive natural finish. (Of course, we also offer a choice of wood stain finishes or will colour-match a stain finish to your specification.)

We run a tight ship here in Dewsbury. We use a manufacturing process called ‘Lean Enterprise’ and it’s all about efficiency, precision and hitting the right timings every step of the way. That’s how we guarantee we don’t waste time or materials and can keep our focus on being the best. We don’t just press a button and set the process in motion though. Lean Enterprise is flexible too. So, if you need to change your order or alter quantities….whatever…no problem. We’ll always call you before we begin production to check the details and again after delivery to check you’re happy with your order.”

To make deliveries run like clockwork, our lorries are fitted with demountable and interchangeable boxes for quicker loading and unloading. We track things every step of the way. And when we’ve made a delivery, your team can take care of installation or we’ll do the job and take away the packaging. You choose. Just so you know, on average our orders are delivered within 18 days, whatever you order. But we’ve got Standard, Deluxe, Premium and Platinum delivery options, so make sure you ask us about them to get the one that’s most convenient for you.”

Cleanability options Elegance need never be compromised by functionality and practicality, because we make choosing the right upholstery for the right environment simpler. We have styles designed to provide an easy clean solution, which also ensures the furniture looks better, for longer: - these are available in duo, with vinyl/faux leather in high contact areas, head rest and arms - half vinyl, with vinyl/faux leather in high contact areas, head rest, arms, inside the arms and one side of the cushion (reversible). It also includes a fully impregnable base - and full vinyl, with vinyl/faux leather on the entire interior of the chair providing maximum durability, plus a fully impregnable base. These options are designed for the most demanding environments and even have vibrant colour contrasts to aid those suffering with dementia.

Shackletons recommends steam cleaning We recommend dry steam cleaning and microfibre cloths for general purpose cleaning to keep all furniture looking its best.
