Your single LILIZELA – tell us about it, what inspired the song?

“I

wrote Lilizela last year (2020) February. I wrote the song because I felt the need to emphasize how beautiful love is. I wanted people to move from the perspective of love breaking hearts and look at the brighter side. And also for people to learn to congratulate those who are in love, and hopefully wait for their turn to be happy too. I’m really happy with the response people are giving me, I really did not expect so much love and I appreciate it”.

Your WOW moment/highlight this far?

“When the Elworld team

started following me on Instagram, I realized that I’m growing, there’s progress. It did not end there but more big names started following me (like Ambitiouz Entertainment, Ami Faku, De Mogul SA to name a few. I am also very excited to see Lilizela paving its way on the charts, I’m really proud of myself”.

Tell us about your recent collaborations and what they mean to you? “I have been featured on De Mogul SA’s latest single titled Vula Amasango. That body of work is something I’m proud of and really happy I became part of. It also reminded me of how much I enjoy writing. I also collaborated with artists like Musiholiq, MBzet, MaxOv and many more. These collaborations helped me grow as it’s different genres”.

Who would you be happy to feature/collaborate with in future? "It has to be Ami Faku or Amanda Black, she smiled". Lastly, tell us about your upcoming album? "The

of

my

upcoming album is Amagama. I’m planning to release midyear. There are about 16 songs with features from the likes of Musiholiq, NaXion Cross, Beast".

"When we decided to commence with our fragrances we had to understand the market language and who we wanted to sell our product to. “We had a target to sell

1. Check what you EAT!!! If you want a flat belly you have to eat absolutely clean. Try to cut Junk, sweet things, fats (unhealthy ones), and try to live without bread, fatcakes, hotdogs, etc maybe for two weeks, and make veg and fruit your best friend.

Finacial Year Reflections. By Afrika Kesho

A reflection of the 2021 financial year shows that the pandemic has changed our lives, we have no other choice but to adapt to the new normal.

Part

of

this

new

normal

is

making

new

normal

financial

decisions. Many people lost their businesses and jobs, this is a great awakening that the world is changing and if we stay stagnant, our chances of survival are slim. The pandemic has brought about an increase in the price of our daily commodities, with the petrol price and food prices increasing, even the pockets of the most financially stable persons feel

the

pinch,

this

is

because

some

of

the

previous

financial

management solutions are not as effective in a pandemic economy. Are savings still an option given the current financial circumstances? The answer to that is - yes, but in different ways. For example, where you would join a physical stokvel which requires monthly meetings and the physical exchange and recording of savings, now you can operate online via whatsapp groups and use bank accounts such as those that allow you as the stokvel members to turn your savings into investments that give you greater returns at the end of the financial year.

21

For personal savings, there are options such as the goal saves account by Tymebank which increases interest varying on the number of days you leave your money in the account, the longer you leave the money, the greater the interest rate. Options such as these allow people to save from the little that

they

have,

and

this

little

money

generates

more while you go about your daily routine. Another option that people often look down on is avoiding shopping and spending the normal way. For example, reconsider buying groceries at the usual

supermarkets

because

buying

from

wholesalers as well as factory shops saves a lot of money. You as the customer get to buy products at the stock price, which is much less than retail price. One thing that is definitely hitting everyone’s pockets is petrol prices, we need to look at more eco-friendly and pocket friendly ways to get to work and school. Parking your car and using public transport or car-pooling may be a good way to save on petrol and car maintenance costs. Your car insurance premiums may even reduce because you’ll be driving your car less, reducing insurable risk.

We’re in a pandemic economy, till date there is no effective vaccine against inflation and poverty but we can always protect the depth of our pockets by taking the necessary financial precautions.

To some it was difficult to let go of the old, torn shoes with holes because they have a sentimental value to them.

They have an attachment as they travelled long journeys with that pair until it was worn out. In the two weeks, we donated 1400 pairs of school shoes to 21 schools in the Bay. We look forward to continuing with the campaign again in June and help those in need. Children deserves the right to basic essentials. We have to work hard to protect them especially in vulnerable communities. Oliver Tambo said: "The children of any nation are its future.
