The Annual Christmas Bazaar and Tea Saturday November 17th - 1pm to 3 pm The ladies of All Saints Anglican Church have held a Tea and Bazaar since the early 1900’s. Some years they used a community hall, and the church basement after it was developed. Often a Tea was held in the Rectory. In 1933 the Women’s Auxiliary was in charge but it was a parish event. The men built the stalls and young people helped. In 1947 the Fall Bazaar was the first public event in the new church. Tickets required for the Tea & door prizes but no entry fee to shop! There’ll be sewing, knitting & crafts, home baking, Silent Auction, Fish Pond, Bottle Draw, Jewellery, White Elephant and our famous Mincemeat. Operation Christmas Child Gift-filled Shoeboxes Help Brighten Children’s Lives Worldwide Total count to date are 94 million shoeboxes that have impacted only 5% of the children of the world. Help us strive to our 100-millionth shoebox! The Canada-wide 2012 Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection season kicks off this October as thousands of individuals, families, churches, businesses, and community groups prepare to fill shoe boxes with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, plus personal notes and photos. Each gift-filled shoe box collected in Canada will make a long journey to the outstretched hands of a needy child in Haiti, South or Central America, or West Africa. Last year, Canadians filled 672,274 shoe boxes of which Ridge Meadows collected 3,075 shoe boxes. This year, Operation Christmas Child is striving towards collecting and distributing our 100-millionth shoe box globally since the program began in 1993. Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts are also collected in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States. Shoebox gifts are distributed in more than 100 countries, on six continents (all but Antarctica). To reach that goal, we are asking Canadians from coast to coast to pack shoeboxes during the next few weeks and together, we can use the power of a simple gift to touch the hearts of children and improve their lives. Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are available at the Dollar Giant 207th and Haney Place Mall. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of children around the world!
