babbacombe inn

I’m Emma Scott from Heart Drivetime! I’m quite new to Devon after moving from The West Midlands with my ever-suffering husband and two young children. We love being here and after 6 months are almost unpacked! We move a lot – my 10 year old daughter has lived in 8 different houses!

bar & restaurant

To give you a bit of history about myself, I left school at 16 and went straight into radio, and have now been in the job for 23 years! My original plan was to do my two year Youth Training Scheme at my local station, and then join the Police Force. Not sure I’ll get to fulfil that dream though! I’m not sure Iím grown up enough for a start! I’ve always loved radio and working in it only made my love stronger – so maybe I’ll never leave!!

Just across the road from the Babbacombe Theatre

I have quite a busy life! Besides my show at Heart, I travel a lot doing music industry seminars and teach radio at various colleges and universities – which I love! I have just published my first book and am well on the way to write my next two!

Good food... Good drink.. Great times.

• Comfortable and air conditioned • Relaxing lounge area • Choice of menus • All food freshly prepared • Food served all - day everyday • Entertainment • Extensive outside patios

My husband and I also run a successful live music promotions company ‘Emma Scott Presents’ which has kept us busy for the past 5 years. Never a dull moment! My two girls keep us busy too and I also help out at their school when I can. The most recent thing I’ve been roped into is the Exmoor Challenge with a bunch of Year 6’s! Could be fun! As a family, we visit as many beaches as we can, and in Devon, we are so spoilt! We love to just get in the car with a picnic and take off. We always pack blankets as we’re usually on the beach until nightfall, and the kids can sleep on the way home in the car! We’re saving up for a camper van to make things a little easier! I can’t wait for the summer, but am quite happy sitting on a beach with fish n chips in the middle of winter too. I just love the seaside and I love living in Devon. I’m hoping there won’t be any other moves for a while

One look at the biographies and accomplishments of the individual players that make up the Ultimate Eagles will tell you a great deal about what you can expect when you come to see them perform. You’re looking at guys that have played every kind of venue, in many different countries, at every level, from clubs, to theatres, to festivals and stadiums. You’re looking at years of professional, world touring experience by 6 of the most accomplished musicians you’re likely to find in any band; tribute or original. You’ve got award winners, rock stars, and players that have been regularly featured in some of the biggest publications in music. Not to mention some TV time as well; Top of The Pops? MTV? They’ve done that too!

faces light up and listen to everyone join in singing. This is the experience that these guys have had all over the world for a lot of years now and one they want keep on bringing to you, wherever you are, even better than you’ve had it before. The ULTIMATE EAGLES recreate the music with reverence, excitement and with a new stage show that focuses its bright lights and flash on the 1970’s, when the Eagles were at their mightiest, you just might find yourself whisked away to the sunny climes of Southern California.

Tuesday 10th May

Four of the guys were also a part of England’s Illegal Eagles, one of the most well-known and wellrespected Eagles tribute bands that have come down the road in a long while.

Tickets on sale at just £15.00

So, why the new band? The boys just felt like it needed a little something. Something “bigger, better, faster, more”. Covering the Eagles music is not a thing you attempt halfheartedly. The songs are deceptively complex, particularly the vocal arrangements and, more importantly, the songs are revered throughout the world. Next time you’re at a party and somebody has a guitar, get someone to play an Eagles song, any Eagles song, and watch the

One look at The ULTIMATE EAGLES’ collective experience, musicality, (and let’s face it, these guys love to play), and professionalism, and it’s easy to understand the band’s simple, but bold mission statement; to play the Eagles’ music better than anybody, anywhere. Second only to The Eagles themselves.

Come out and see them and judge for yourselves!

Highly acclaimed local Producer & director Colin Matthews’ comes up trumps again with another top quality show for 2011 “Heatwave”! This show is very special as it marks Colin’s 25th Anniversary at the Babbacome Theatre and this is another fantastic production to hit the stage with something for everyone, including song, comedy, dance and good old fashion family fun! The show started with a very positive, explosive beginning which was to be the trend throughout the evening. The lighting and effects in this intimate venue were stunning and you could see from the outset a lot of hard work and dedication has gone into this production. The whole cast was faultless but in particular Andy Oakley’s comic genius was on top form from start to finish. With authentic

impressions and comedy sketches, the crowd loved every minute of it, a lot of the gags were original and entertaining. The dancers were fabulous and the choreography was very professional, you could see how much work had gone into this with the confidence of the dancers. A special mention here also for the younger dancers, they were brilliant and definitely something to watch for the future. The show has a lot of quick fire sketches and never a dull moment. If there ever was a show with something for every one this has to be it with routines from Shrek to Moulin Rouge and my personal favourite was the Cheap flights routine, hilarious! Which rings true as there is no such thing as a cheap flight! I could give you the run down on every routine but I am not going to spoil your fun, you will have to go along and see the show yourself!

With all of this talent set in a very intimate venue and without doubt one of the most picturesque locations Torbay has to offer this has the makings, in my opinion, of one of the most successful run of shows for a long time. The show runs until 19th October and is worth every penny, good clean family fun with something for everyone, I would highly recommend the show to anyone! If there is a better show of this kind on the South West, I would like to see it! Every year the production gets better than the previous! That is testament to their dedication and talent, well done everyone at the Babbacome Theatre! Please visit the Theatre website for details of their fantastic 241 offer for Thursdays in May.

Written by Willy Russell, the legendary BLOOD BROTHERS tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with tragic consequences. Starring X Factor’s Niki Evans as Mrs Johnstone, the superb score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True. Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as the multi-award winning BLOOD BROTHERS, and Bill Kenwright’s production, having recently celebrated its 21st phenomental year in London, continues to enjoy standing ovations at every devastating performance. No wonder BLOOD BROTHERS is now “The musical for all time”.
