The award-winning,
Loretto Golf Academy
The Directors and Senior Management of Your Golfer Magazine are excited to announce the deserving recipient of their ‘Training & Education Provider of the Year for 2019’ as the Loretto Golf Academy. The much coveted award is presented to the organisation that the Magazine’s hierarchy believe are making a difference to people’s lives as well as the sport of golf. It is fair to say that, whilst creating the stars of the future, the Loretto Golf Academy ticks all the boxes when it comes to getting young people out and enjoying the game of golf, giving them a purpose and hopefully unearthing some previously undiscovered golfing talent along the way.
Training & Education Provider of the Year 2019
Since it was launched in 2002, the award-winning, Loretto Golf Academy has been developing a framework of coaching, practice and competition that seamlessly links with the academic side of the school. The highly acclaimed Academy has gone from strength-to-strength and is now recognised as one of the UK’s most highly respected golf schools, with many of its players going on to achieve success at both national and international levels. The Academy offers an excellent opportunity to get involved in and make a success of golf. Founder, Rick Valentine explains:
Training & Education Provider of the Year for 2019 After seeing Rory McIlroy pocket a staggering amount of prize winnings in the FedEx Cup recently and also the trials and tribulations of Europe’s Ryder and Solheim Cup teams, the lure of a career in golf has become even greater.
Directed by Golf Professional, Rick Valentine and a team of top class PGA Professional coaches, Loretto’s facilities include a stateof-the-art practice facility and an abundance of local, accessible golf courses.
By joining the Loretto Golf Academy, pupils will have the opportunity to represent the school, play some of Scotland’s top golf course and, go on one of the Academy’s overseas tours.”
On receiving the Your Golfer Magazine accolade, Rick went on to say: “
The Academy’s facilities include a Southwest Greens nine-hole artificial putting green, several driving bays, bunker and chipping areas. The indoor facilities are used to form innovative programmes for beginners and advanced pupils inclusive of expert PGA swing analysis, putting analysis and use of an indoor studio complete with video swing analysis and Trackman technology.
Young people watching the action unfold on their screens may wonder how they can become part of the great game and emulate their heroes. This is where the award-winning Loretto Academy comes into play. Established in 2002, the Loretto Golf Academy is located in the Scottish Golf Coast in Musselburgh, East Lothian and offers pupils an exceptional opportunity to develop their sporting talent in tandem with a first-class education.
“Although golf is an individual sport and all players will receive individual coaching, golf at Loretto is very much within a team environment. Players practice together as well as compete with and against each other on a regular basis. This provides a competitive environment that enhances motivation and individual development.
