ituated just 5 minutes from Mold off the A55, the award-winning, Northop Golf Club is idyllically set in 250 acres of wonderful parkland with views across the Dee Estuary. The Flintshire golf club is playable twelve months of the year on USGA standard greens with excellent drainage
Flintshire’s location makes it the ideal location for a golfing break, close to the English border and county of Cheshire.
Founded in 1994, the Northop course was recently rated 20th best course in Wales. Designed by former Ryder Cup player and renowned golf coach, John Jacobs, the golf course is immaculately well-kept from tee to green and everything in between! In fact, the Northop course is presented as well in the winter months as it appears during the summer – a great testimony to the green keeping team at the club. Northop is littered with water hazards which are a feature of the golf course along with tree-lined fairways and small protected greens. The par 72 golf course which measures 6,400 yards from the championship tees represents an enjoyable but testing challenge for even the most accomplished of golfer. The course has also hosted a number of top amateur events and regional competitions such as the Welsh PGA National Championships and not forgetting the European Challenge Tour event the first of its kind ever to be held in Wales.
Relax in comfortable surroundings A warm welcome awaits at Northop Golf Club. The prestigious Georgian clubhouse and first class golf and function facilities are amongst some of the finest in North Wales. The well-appointed clubhouse offers a well-stocked bar and a variety of snacks throughout the day. The purpose-built facility is the ideal space to relax following your round with views across the golf course.
Why not see for yourself? North Wales is littered with fine golf courses and some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of the United Kingdom. The region’s pleasant locations, facilities and greens combine to provide a fantastic choice for a golf break whilst you can also take in the fantastic views of some of the UK’s most breath-taking countryside.
As well as the many outdoor pursuits which can be enjoyed in North Wales, the region offers visitors some of the best value green fees around. The area’s unspoiled golf courses at affordable prices encompass a variety of unique and testing challenges, from the gentle, rolling parkland courses to stunning mountain-backed links-style golf courses. Some of the earliest golf courses in Wales can be found in the north, with many close to the Irish Sea meaning conditions can be challenging; with many golf courses set to the stunning backdrop of the surrounding mountains.
Northop Golf Club welcomes societies and visiting parties throughout the year. The club offers a range of seasonal golf day packages which combine excellent golf on the championship Northop course, with fantastic dining options catering for everything from a bacon bap and coffee on arrival to soup, sandwiches or a two-course meal following completion of your round. The golf club’s dedicated Professional team are also on hand during society days to ensure that the event runs smoothly, assisting with everything from nearest the pin and longest drive markers, to prize presentation and advice throughout the day.
