Yeru Retreat Center
Yeru Retreat Center is located in Northern Minnesota, home of 10,000 lakes. Located in the forest of Emily on a private lake.
During his first visit to Yeru Retreat Center, Kundrol Rinpoche, during his meditation, saw the Khyung Mar ~ Red Garuda. Since we have affectional called the lake “Garuda Lake”
Throughout the years, many Bön practitioners have come to a teaching retreat or their own personal private retreat.
Rinpoche himself had his personal retreat alone and Rinpoche himself had his personal retreat alone and during his retreat, he befriended the racoons, and other animals within the forest who enjoyed listening to Rinpoche as he chanted and his evening surs.
Rinpoche has always said, “Yeru Retreat Center is for all Bön practioners to enjoy. Either for a teaching or for a private retreat”. So, we have teaching or for a private retreat”. So, we have students from all over the world who come to enjoy the natural beauty of Yeru Retreat Center.
Private Retreats: If you wish to have a private retreat, we encourage and welcome you! You have full access to the shrine room, and we will help you prepare your personal space with what you may need if we have it available, to help your personal retreat to be amazing. We could arrange for a zoom conversatoin with Rinpoche to guide you during your private retreat.
In person teaching: We have taken all of the precautions with Covid and we are prepared and ready to receive students in person for a teachings with our masters. ready to receive students in person for a teachings with our masters.
Construction of Temple: Covid and Crow Wing County has delayed our progress here in Emily. Many processes we needed to go through to build the temple in an enviromentally protected lake. But, it is all done, we have crossed our “T” and dotted our “I” and now working out details for shipment. Tthe temple is considered a Certified Green Temple (all organic materials) and we are on an environmentally protected lake which makes this even more special. But all of this has finally been accomplished and we will begin construction this summer.
