ALTAR FLOWERS Choose Life of North Alabama has been sharing the beauty of life with clients in this community for over 30 years. While we may see the obvious beauty in an unborn child, the difficult circumstances of some of our clients can hide that beauty from their view. It’s all about perspective. That’s why our number one goal is to share the gospel with our clients. Only with God’s perspective can we fully appreciate the value and beauty of every life.

If you would like to place flowers in the Worship Center in 2012 in memory or in honor of a special person or occasion, contact Karen Tidwell in the Pastor’s Office at 256-704-5678, ext. 224 or go to whitesburgbaptist. org/flowers and follow the instructions.

Did you know that Choose Life is going mobile? We have partnered with ICU Mobile and will soon have an ultrasound equipped RV ready to, literally, deliver the gospel and the message of hope to the women of North Alabama. We are thrilled about this new minstry direction, and there has never been a better time to support Choose Life!

CHILDREN

As a non-profit ministry, we receive no government funding, and are supported completely by donations from local churches, businesses and individuals. We offer all of our services for FREE! We offer pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, after-abortion counseling, one-on-one mentoring, abstinenceonly education and more. Last year, we served over 4400 clients, and 96% of our pregnant clients chose life for their unborn babies. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, please contact our office at 256-534-1996. 220 Rands Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35801 ChooseLifeHuntsville.org

January 15 - 28, 2012

A Note from the Pastor

Celebrate Recovery Tuesdays at 6:30 pm

One of my favorite expressions about giving is “the joy of giving.” I know that many people do not understand that phrase because they have not experienced it. It is one of the most consistent teachings of the Bible, and also one of the greatest avenues of blessing for a follower of Christ. Let’s consider this for a few minutes. God’s word in Hebrews 11:6 declares: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him (God).” Pleasing someone who is very special to us makes us feel good. Making them happy, makes us happy. Making them sad, makes us sad. This is a simple truth. We are taught from Scripture that believers are servants of the Lord. The purpose of a servant is to please his or her Master by obeying Him. Thus our obedience makes God happy, and our disobedience makes God sad (grieves the Holy Spirit). Again, when He is sad, we are sad. Yet, we all need the joy of the Lord in our lives. Only then can we be spiritually healthy and productive. One of the ways we accomplish this is through the discipline of consistent, cheerful giving of our time, energy, interest, influence, and resources to advance the Kingdom of God and His church in the world. Where there is faith and faithfulness, there is joy and peace. May the words of the song be ours by experience as we progress through the New Year together. “There is a place of full release, Near to the heart of God, A place where all is joy and peace Near to the heart of God. O Jesus blest Redeemer, Sent from the heart of God. Hold us who wait before Thee, Near to the heart of God.”
