HEARTBEAT

April 1 - 14, 2012

A Note from the Pastor Welcome to an exciting day of worship! The signs of new life are all around us during this spring season. The enthusiasm and freshness of God’s presence is evident in our fellowship as believers. God is preparing us for the greatest day of the year—Resurrection Sunday—April 8. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the watershed event of human history and the foundation and inspiration for all of our eternal hope. As we celebrate Christ’s resurrection, you can help us to have a great day. Pray for souls to be saved and lives to be strengthened. Invite a friend. Park at the ROC and ride the shuttle and come back on Sunday evening for the Lord’s Supper. May the Lord bless us with a fantastic day of praise and fellowship together. Love in Jesus, Bro. Jimmy

WOMEN’S MINISTRY @ THE PLACE

WORDS OF APPRECIATION

The following people wish to express their appreciation to the Church Family for all the love, prayers and concern shown to them in recent days: • Patsy Faulk during her recent surgery and recovery. • Bob and Donna Lewis at the death of his brother, John Lewis. • The family of Dorothy Gurley at her death.

James - Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore

The new James - Mercy Triumphs study by Beth Moore will begin Wednesday, April 4, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm at The PLACE on Pulaski Pike, led by Laura Medley. James, who was Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic, but one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned this unbeliever into a disciple. The book of James, which closely resembles the Old Testament book of Proverbs, will teach you about joy, hardship, faith, reversals, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, dangers of the tongue, and prayer. And in the process, you will learn how to put your own faith into action. Registration is not required. Book cost is $15. Questions? Call Dana at 256-704-5678, ext. 279.

SYMPATHY

The church family expresses sympathy for: • Mrs. Bettye Street at the death of her husband, Troy. • James and Bonnie McCrary at the death of her sister, Marilyn Craig. • David and Amy Nelson and family in the death of his mother.
