Neale Donald Walsch The Man Who Talks With God

As a devout young man, Neale Donald Walsch crafted a deep relationship with God which in time led him to spiritual exploration, eventually even to homelessness, and ultimately to his proclaimed first book “Conversations with God”. Now a renowned spiritual messenger, with numerous books translated into countless languages, his reach continues to touch countless people around the planet. Interviewed by Tony Camacho

WP: Let’s start with a little background in the earlier years. What was growing up and being Neale Donald Walsch like? NDW: I had everything I wanted. I had a really wonderful childhood. I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I come from a slightly lower than middle class family. I had terrific parents. My dad did all the things boys want their Dad’s to do. We were into boy scouting, we went on fishing trips to Canada; a big fishing trip, when I turned 16. My father said, “These are boys becoming men.” He did all the things that you would want a father to do. WP: That’s beautiful. NDW: My mother was just an angel. She sat on the floor in the dining room and played with us. We had a fatherknows-best childhood, although he did not always know best. WP: Understandable. Still it sounds like a remarkable family. Did you have any siblings? NDW: I have a brother Brian who lived with us and I had two older brothers, much older than me, that did not live with us. So it was my dad, mom, Brian and myself. We had a lovely experience. My father was Catholic and went to church every Sunday. He was a model for us and I had this huge, huge, interest in God. WP: So, you were one of those kids as a result of your family who went off to Catholic school?

NDW: My father came up with the dough and sent us to parochial school. He wouldn’t have it any other way. Yes, my father, he worked at the post office so he didn’t have a high-faulting job, but he made it all come together. So we went. WP: What about your teenage years? Were you a typical young man growing up? NDW: I went to public high school in Milwaukee. I was a student leader; I was in the Student Council. I was in the band, the orchestra; I was the P.A. announcer for all of the sporting events in my last two years of high school. WP: You were very active? NDW: Extremely so! When they were looking for someone to go behind the podium to be an announcer for the school district, they invited me in for an audition. I was not surprised about that because I had dreamed about this since about age 9. I wanted to be a radio announcer. Oh, I use to sit on my bed on summer mornings and read the newspaper out loud. WP: So there you were practicing, announcing. NDW: Yes, as if I was giving a news broadcast. My dream was to become a radio announcer. WP: I want to ask you about being devout, embracing religion, in this case Catholicism. What was it for you that

anchored you in that space as a young kid? ND: My parents, they were profoundly impacting on me as a child. I don’t know how to say this, but I had some experiences that were profoundly impacting upon me as a child. I would pray, as Catholic boys did. I was an altar boy. WP: Interesting, as was I. NDW: Yes, so mystically, I was kind of caught up in it all. I was serving mass, and I felt that I had been blissed out. I was about 10/11; I felt that I was really involved in a mystical experience. I was very mystically connected to my experience of God in those days; taking communion was not a small thing. I was in fact physically connected to God with the wafer and the wine and I got to the point where I was going to study for the priesthood. I was the boy that would walk around the playground with a crucifix in his belt. WP: Sounds like a nice connection. NDW: I was really into the whole God thing. I don’t say that disrespectfully. I was so caught up in it. WP: You were deeply embedded. NDW: The nuns went to the pastor, who in turn went to go see my parents, and I am told by everyone at the school, that your son has the calling. He is a very devout young boy. He is not just playing around. He is a part of the ritual. When he genuflects he is serious, he means it. My mother was frail as all

catholic mothers would be, “Oh my God, the priest has come to say that my son has the calling.” In those days, I don’t know how it is these days, but in those days you could go right into the… WP: …seminary. NDW: Yes. Back then; from high school you can go right into the seminary at 9th grade. That is what they were recommending. WP: Were you elated by all of that? NDW: Oh my God, I was just thrilled out of my mind. Ah, but my father said, “No, if he still wants to go to seminary when he is 17 fine, but at 13 or 14, he doesn’t really know enough about life.” WP: Looking back on that now, how do you feel about that choice he made for you? How he steered you away from that. NDW: On looking back, of course he totally made the precisely right decision. I clearly realize that taking me as a child at 13 and half and putting me in a seminary was not in my interest. My father further said, “If my son at the age 18 wants to go the seminary not only will he go but we will send him there and we will pay for it.” Given that he was such a staunch Catholic, he could look me in the face and say “Not now, later.” WP: I think that was a very courageous behavior by him. NDW: Yes, and I was very upset, very upset at the time. Not a little upset, really upset. WP: Yes, I can imagine. Did your mother support you in your wanting to make a choice then? NDW: I don’t recall that she was at odds with my father about it. She was certainly thrilled, convinced, that I was going to go down that road. She said, “He has been in love with God since he was seven.” Well, between the ages of 13 and 17, I discovered two things: women (girls), and radio. WP: Which of the two were more enamored with? NDW: [Laughs] Guess.

So I allowed myself to move more fully, getting up early virtually every day with a legal pad and writing down questions and writing down the answers.

”

WP: [Laughs] A very interesting story. I was also an altar boy. I did not have the devotion that you had so I enjoy hearing your share: this giving of yourself to God in each event. I enjoy it so much because it is in stark contrast to me. I find it remarkable and quite lovely. NDW: My parents really are responsible for that. Both of my parents raised us with a deeper reverence for God. Not in any kind of dogmatic way, in fact not at all dogmatic; they were very liberal people. It was clear to my mom and dad that there is something larger going on here, it is not just us. WP: So high school, and then on to college? NDW: For a couple of years, I went to University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. My father put me in when I made the decision I was not going into the seminary. WP: What were you pursuing? NDW: Journalism. I wanted to get a Journalism degree, in the media somewhere or another. I took the typical courses, Argumentation, of course Journalism, Oral Interpretation: marvelous class. I had a marvelous teacher, she would tell us, “Your voice is a musical instrument, use it as such.” Her voice sounded like a 22-year-old, but she was probably 70. She would say hot, cold, warm, fast, quick and slow. She taught us how to say s-l-o-o-o-w. She taught us how to use descriptive words and how to insert the meaning in the mere saying of the word. WP: That’s a powerful tool. NDW: Yes, it was a revelation for me, and I understand people like John Kennedy, who were very magnetic on a podium. They could be that way because they knew how to insert the meaning of the word in the saying of it. Not a small skill. WP:You were armoring yourself with all the things you bring to the table these days. NDW: Yes. WP: How fortunate was that? Wonderful. College and then off to where? Continued on Page 9

NDW: At the end of my second year in college, I had an opportunity for a job in broadcasting on the radio, a little station in the next town over from Milwaukee. I had an opportunity to work there for peanuts, $.50 an hour. I took the job, I dropped out of college. My father said that I was making a mistake and noted to me that it was a one-time offer that he is paying for college. I wasn’t attending much, and was invited by the Dean to leave, so I did. I never went back to school or acquired a degree. I went from there into broadcasting, and landed a Live A.M. radio station. I was 19.

NDW: Sure, broadly, when I had my first encounter in the conversation experienced around the age of 50, in between those ages I held a variety of jobs and also experiences of God, but I could not find an exterior experience, essentially I could not find a religious community that I agreed with.

WP: That was quite an achievement at 19. NDW: Well, you know it was, and I gained all this background in public speaking and such. I had even made a demo of my abilities from which I was invited to an audition, and they liked my voice. I had been cultivating and using my voice like a musical instrument like my teacher taught us. I got the job, and I flew down to Maryland, and so on...

WP: Did that create a lot of internal conflict for you, shedding any earlier beliefs? NDW: No, none-whatsoever. I made that decision. I was older, and as an older person I realized I don’t get the whole hell thing, and I kept coming across many things I did not agree with. I looked at Presbyterianism, Judaism and all the “isms” that are out there across the years. I looked at Comparative Theology and studied a lot of the faith interpretations in the world. My first experience was when I was about 50 or so. When I had an automobile accident, they made a movie about it.

WP: So if we may jump to the space where you came into contact, if you will, with a very alive, talking God, that be-

WP: A very enjoyable movie. NDW: So, I walked around, I was pretty angry at life. There I was at 50 years,

and measuring by exterior measurement, I had nothing to show. I was on the street, and pretty angry with God. WP: Sure, easy to understand. NDW: Then one night I woke up and I wrote on a legal pad, and it was literally verbatim. I got up and asked what does it take to make life work with this continuing struggle, and then the rest is public knowledge. It is in the movie and in the books. WP: This was the pivotal moment, for you: a mega-transition into a different space. NDW: Yes. Not at the very beginning, but shortly after I had a moment of inspiration. But I did not have all of the epiphany, or whatever language allows us to try to describe it as, but I certainly had the experience. So I allowed myself to move more fully, getting up early virtually every day with a legal pad and writing down questions and writing down the answers. I had many notes, “back and forth notes”. WP: A colossal moment; very extraordinary. NDW: I remember backroom talk like, “We would violate the integrity of what you gave us, if we decided to take that paragraph out, or God would not say that.” It was a regular joke. Early on the publisher walked out on to the floor and said, “Does anyone want to edit God?” that was the gag. WP:: No one was bold enough to raise their hand? NDW: No, and my books have not been edited, they were written precisely the way I wrote them. This is not a boast, it is simply an observation. WP: So there you were suddenly writing books and then a whole plethora of books, 28. NDW: Surely I was not expecting it, it was not my intention. I didn’t sit down and say “I am writing a book.” What is interesting is that I was told in the dialogue that this will one day become a book. I was stupid not to recognize that it was the first thing that was said to me that was measurable. I know enough to know unpublished authors, the chances of getting published, was one in a million. WP: So that speaks of a certain trust, an alignment with what was being shared with you. NDW: I am not sure if this speaks of a certain trust. I would not put it that way, it was more a dare, I didn’t know if it would get published. It was a let’s see. So I sent it. Totally clear it would be a mir-

acle. I only sent it to five. I had already received rejection letters from an intake editor, so I looked at books that were in the same vein, and sent it to their publishers. WP: Remarkable, they are amazing books, and translated into 37 languages they have immense impact. NDW: I am very grateful and humbled if that is true. I hear that the books have been read by millions of people and as you say in 37 languages and in the morning I am thinking, are you kidding me? So it remains astonishing to me. WP: A wonderful journey, and where do you see yourself going these days? NDW: I want to spend the last 15 years of my working life focused on planting the seeds of sanity and create an evolutionary revolution “Evolutionary Revolution”. I think it would literally civilize civilization. Here goes my 30 second wrap. Nothing in our world is working. Our evolutional process does not work, our economics does not work, and our educational system is not working or at least does not produce the outcome they are designed to produce. The economic system is far from producing optimally. 5% of the world controls 90% of the world’s wealth and resources. 98% of the people are spending time on things that don’t matter. That is the first sentence in my book. I hope to be a sufficiently convincing messenger of spirituality. I am launching a newspaper that is called “The Global Conversation” and I am even launching a global movement to create what I call “The Conversation of the Century”.

WP: I like the titles, and I am in agreement, but do you see the change that is happening now? NDW: Yes, to some degree, not nearly fast enough. I would like to join those who are accelerating the process. I do see for example that my book would not have been a best seller 10 or so years ago, before it came out. If it came out 15 to 17 years ago, it would have never done what it did. So to that degree, I do see a shift. But now it is time to accelerate. WP: Yes, I further agree. I think as a result of this energy there is a wanting and a kind of marshaling to make a shift, a change from the general rule on the planet. On some level there are many people stepping forth, being active, creating groups and programs… NDW: The difficulty right now, the world is falling apart in front of us. Our financial system is falling apart, dissolving revolution everywhere. We are in the midst of an overhaul of humanity. Part of the problem that I observe with all of the good intentions, the other efforts that you elude to there, very few focus on the nature of the problem. Everyone is trying to solve the problem at every level except the one where the problem actually exists. It is a spiritual problem. WP: Yes. NDW: What we have to be is true about ourselves to each other about our life. And when we change our understanding of our spiritual and cultural story, and have a new story including what God is really – the starvation, and all of those other problems will disapContinued on Page 38

Discovered The WORD that Unlocks the Divine by John C astagnini

Einstein searched for what he called a unified field theory – a singular force, nature’s simplest formula from which all other forces were derived. What if the answer to fulfilling every single area of life could be discovered within a single word, with a singular formula? There is such a word, there is such a formula, and you are about to discover it.

ecades ago, with my formal degree in Biology and Chiropractic school under my belt, I asked myself, “What’s the most valuable thing I could share to empower people to live their greatest potential to lead a fulfilled life?” I set out on a road to answer that question, and to devote my life to the answers that I found. So I explored the human condition and the universal principles that guide our lives: from theology to quantum physics, from philosophy to cosmology, from mathematics to psychology. I thoroughly studied the great minds of the present and past, in an effort to best understand “The Big Show”. A couple of underlying principles kept consistently reappearing throughout history, from culture to culture, science to science and from philosophies to religions. One I could not ignore was the concept of there being cycles and an underlying order that permeates the universe, systems, and ultimately our lives. But what were these cycles? What controlled them? What was this “secret” order? As a music connoisseur, I was struck, years back, upon coming across a particularly peculiar John Lennon lyric,

“People say I’m crazy lost in confusion, I tell them there’s no problems only solutions.” I thought to myself – could there really exist “no problems”? Perhaps there is an eternal perfect order that exists, but that in our moments we are the ones who are creating the perception of problems Was there a cycle, a pattern to our experience of this underlying perfect order? What became abundantly clear is that life was indeed a series of highs and lows. In having been immersed in the personal development field, and seminar touring with Dr. John Demartini and Dr. Wayne Dyer in the 1990’s, a good part of my focus became understanding human emotional patterns. Clearly we experience emotions. These emotions are based upon certain perceptions that we have. What became increasingly interesting was I realized that over time, my perceptions would change, and as a result my emotions would change. We have all heard the expression that,” Someday you’ll look back and laugh about this.” Not only was this true, but it became evident that I had no choice but to attract to myself the same emotional patterns over and over, until I brought my perceptions to balance! So I further immersed myself in study-

ing my emotional patterns, and the patterns of others. But why are the exploration of emotions and perceptions so important? What do perceptions and underlying perfection have to do with helping those I come across deal with the death of a loved one, getting through a divorce, or liberating one’s true genius? It became apparent to me, that our entire life is the experience of waves of emotions. Like a pendulum, we would be happy and sad, challenged and supported, pained and pleased. What also was clear is that our emotions, where suffering is experienced, would repeat until our perceptions about whatever caused the emotion would come to balance. We would experience the same reality over and over until we attracted enough information that actually forced us to experience balanced perceptions. This is the empowering process of equilibration! For instance, if I had a fear of being humiliated, I was going to attract to myself over and over, situations that would force me to deal with this. When I became balanced in my perceptions about humiliation, I would then be free from the fear of humiliation’s emotional rollercoaster. In turn, the life that I would attract on the outside would also shift.

Could then our entire life, our entire destiny be determined by our perceptions? Are we fated to attract to ourselves a life on the outside that is limited by our imbalanced perceptions on the inside? Could our whole lives be influenced by our ability to balance our perceptions; either “in tune” or “out of tune” with the perfect order? In the years spent observing and studying emotional patterns, you name it, sexual molestation, rape, divorce, I heard it all. But it wasn’t until my mom, my best friend died suddenly at age 56 where I truly was forced to face my deepest demons, and put my life’s work to the test. Was the world still just perfect even though my mom was dead? It sure did NOT feel that way. Having helped many other people tackle the challenge of dealing with the death of a loved one, I knew what I had to do. I spent three weeks alone in Florida where I searched. I knew that there was indeed a perfect balance in mom’s passing. What were the benefits and gains brought on by her passing? I listed them. Including all the traits and qualities that she represented to me, and where they now were in my life. After three weeks of searching and answering the questions that helped me balance the perceptions, and in turn the emotions I had about my mom’s death, I was in a Florida parking lot with my girlfriend. There we met a woman named Lorraine. Strange, that was my mom’s name. She was 56. Wow, mom just passed at 56 years old. Now, this Lorraine was smoking a cigarette, drinking a cup of coffee and was from Brooklyn New York. Well, mom was famous for her coffee and cigarettes in Brooklyn. I turned to my girlfriend and I whispered to her, “I will bet you anything, this woman’s birthday is January 9th.” I asked this new Lorraine when her birthday was. She stared directly into my eyes and responded, “January 9th. Why?” That was not my mom’s birthday, it was the day she died.

I discussed in a film called “Discover the Gift”, how I knew January 9th was this new Lorraine’s birthday. I shared: “In that moment, I was experiencing the transformation of my mother. I spent three weeks equilibrating (balancing) my emotions about her passing. The first law of thermodynamics shares, ‘Energy and matter can’t be created or destroyed, it just changes form.’ We ARE this energy. I looked for where all of mom’s qualities transformed in my field of vision. I realized death/life all existed in the eternal presence. Time itself is the illusion. Gratitude, presence, inspiration and presence reign. Everything IS right now.” Shortly thereafter, I wrote my ‘Thank God My Mom Died’ story. What is the power of Equilibration? You experience your entire universe through your perceptions. As you evolve your consciousness, your perceptions expand. By practicing equilibration you become able to experience the world through the actuality that exists when your perceptions are perfectly balanced. Versus when your perceptions are imbalanced you experience an incomplete view of the world. You label and judge what you perceive according to this incomplete view of reality, and you experience emotional patterns that recreate this dynamic. As in the example of my mom having died: – WITHOUT equilibration, the story in my mind was “This is horrible. I won’t ever see her again. She left me for good. My life sucks. Life would be so much better if she were still here.” – I was experiencing the disorder that existed in my own mind.

financial distress – and ultimately ALL of them can be transcended. That transformation begins in your mind. Is it better to be an “optimist” or a “pessimist”? Most people, even those studying personal development for decades would answer “optimist”. Have you ever listed the advantages of begin a pessimist? You become more analytical, you scrutinize and prepare. And the disadvantages of being an optimist? You can be overconfident and create unrealistic expectations. After one studies equilibration, not only do they appreciate optimism and pessimism equally, but they discover where they have both. Furthermore, they become able to utilize both wisely. Not only is equilibration the entire key to transcending the challenges in your life, it too is the key to evolving your consciousness and ultimately liberating your genius. How so? By balancing one’s perception you let go of old paradigms, old thought processes. A void is created. As one experiences balance, presence, grace, they open themselves up for inspiration and insight. In this place, our consciousness evolves and our genius is liberated. It is an unlocking of the Divine. A unified theory of everything? Ultimately, EVERYTHING we experience is filtered through our perceptions. Everything we experience is either through a state of emotion, or in a state of grace. For human beings, we are either coming to balance or balanced.

–WITH equilibration, the story in my mind is “Thank you for being in my life. I see where you are now. I honor your life. I honor your death. I honor your transition.” – I’m experiencing the omnipresent perfect order that is eternal.

Overall, your entire life, your destiny, is determined by your thoughts, words and actions. During which you either develop the skill of equilibration and refine your ability to wisely equilibrate from pattern to pattern, or you don’t. The evolution of your being, transcendence of your patterns, overcoming of any addictions, and the liberation of your brilliance, your destiny, hinge on this. WP

Some people may assume that I choose to live here because I’m a medium (which isn’t the case) or that I’m constantly visited by the recently deceased (which I’m not). However, throughout my life, I’ve been drawn to “cities of the dead”. As a teenager I had what some might think, an unhealthy interest in reading gravestones. While in Europe, I was entranced by gravestone rubbing and rubbed until my arms would no longer move. In looking back, I realized that I cared about the people who were “gone”, even if they had been for centuries. I was curious about their lives and loves. I wanted to know about them. Not surprising I guess that I became a medium.

These days, I appreciate the cemetery next door as a lovely place to walk. The trees are old – older than the cemetery itself – and the grounds are beautifully kept with fountains, rose gardens and park benches. No gravestones mar the sight-l ines, and at times the only reminder that it is a cemetery are the f lowers left as remembrances, or the chairs set up under an awning in preparation for a service. Recently, however, I found myself wandering toward a section that isn’t in my usual walking path. Glancing around I saw more f lowers and plants than usual, and balloons, pinwheels and teddy bears. I was standing among the graves of children. At each decorated gravesite, I looked at the plaques, pausing at one with a “Hello Kitty” logo inscribed next to the pictures of two young faces. “What could have taken you two so suddenly?” my curious nature asked.

Spending time in a “city of the dead” reminds me that death and life are partners, flip sides of the same coin. Looking at life from a spirit perspective can make the details of life on earth seem tiresome at best. As one lady said at a recent book signing, “The afterlife sounds so great that I just want to get there.” However as the spirits remind us time and again, it is what we think and do in our lives here that helps create our lives there. It is in the details of life that love is expressed. The very limitations of life (including a “drop dead” deadline) spur us on to take action. The duality of life and death, heaven and earth, being and doing, limitation and expansion, is the very thing which calls us to live life like a spirit – now. Why not live an expansive life while we’re here? As I travel and meet people from around the world, I find many are choosing to do just that. After returning from the walk in my cemetery, I was compelled to call my friend Barb in Boston, who has been my friend since the 5th grade. I wanted to see how she and other friends are dealing with the aftermath of the Marathon bombings. Barb had been at the marathon, and had also been housebound during the search for the bombing suspect. “At church it felt good to

For the spirits, death isn’t a separation or limitation, it is an all-access pass to understanding.

As we talked more about her socially active Unitarian church, we laughed that the congregation balked at renaming the traditional Easter Egg Hunt, the Spring Egg Hunt, a more politically correct appellation. The Unitarian Church’s (not renamed) Easter Egg Hunt is staged in a local historic cemetery where pastel-colored eggs are hidden among the tombstones. Every year children run over graves with screeches of delight as they find hidden treasures and their baskets begin to fill. After hanging up with Barb, I reflected upon the slightly bizarre picture of an Easter egg hunt in a cemetery. In considering the image, my own walk in the cemetery, and the aftermath of the tragic events in Boston, Texas and New Orleans, I concluded that it is the perfect analogy for our continued awakening on earth. There is a choice to be made here about how we live life every day. I’ve made my decision. And once again, it was children – those in spirit as well as those here on earth – who showed me the way. I’m going to live my life like a kid in a cemetery, filling my basket with the most beautiful Easter eggs I can find. If you aren’t already, won’t you join me? WP

The Boston attack was clearly not an evolved act. If anything, this demonstrates the complexity of the subject, because evolving consciousness is a process and is not uniform. Consciousness at a basic level involves two things: awareness and the ability to process and use information. Awareness has several levels. Animals are aware of their environment, but they lack self-awareness in the sense of being able to think about themselves in relation to their place in the larger universe. They act rather than reflect. But even the reflective human mind is fragmented. We have subconscious and unconscious levels of the mind as well as a polarized perceptual mechanism called the left and right brain. Why all the compartmentalization? Very simple. If our consciousness was a single unity, we would be God, or at least we would perceive at a godlike level, and we would not at all perceive ourselves to be the individuals we think we are. Consciousness with a capital C, or God, broke Itself up so It could become us. Creation was not a singular act by the wave of Its hand. It was a flinging of Its arm spreading seeds of Itself throughout creation. These seeds would grow in varying degrees of awareness depending upon how far they landed from the source of the nourishing light that had bore them, and this physical dimension is said to be the farthest of all. History does tell us that most societies prior to 3,000 BC were feminine oriented and worshiped some form of the goddess in their mysteries. The world would have seemed magical to the early humans as they intuited their way through life in pulsations with the rhythms of nature. But now consciousness found itself embodied in physical form subject to all the laws and perils of physical existence. Wild beasts preyed on our ancestors. They needed to gather food and seek shelter. They had to organize and analyze in an effort to understand and control their environment. The left brain, or male way of thinking, eventually came to dominate the human thought process so successfully that today we are practically destroying ourselves for the sake of dominance and power as we find ourselves living in the vestiges of modern patriarchal societies today. But I believe we are on the verge of a universal shift, because I believe consciousness is an evolutionary spiral. I believe the feminine, intuitive energy is recycling into our lives to balance the dominant male oriented thought forms that have set the tenor. sion is the age-old impulse to dominate and control through fear. If the original information of creation is a unity, then evolution in consciousness means personally intuiting that unity. When one person harms another, it ultimately comes from ignorance of that fact. It is the current resurgence of the intuitive feminine energy that takes our minds off the material world of separation and opens them to the spiritual. Great advances nearly always begin among smaller numbers on the periphery of a society. They work their way inward slowly, just as forging a new nation in the old West happened on the frontier, while it took time for the events to be absorbed in the settled areas back East. This growing consciousness fueled by the feminine energy is in full swing among the group that has come to be known as the “Cultural Creatives”. These are people from all walks of life “whose values embrace a curiosity and concern for the world, and an openness to self-actualization through spirituality, psychotherapy, and holistic practices”. I have been attending holistic conferences for five decades now. Until perhaps ten years ago, if I was in a lecture with 200 present, there would have been 199 women and me. Guys just didn’t attend such way-out, touchy-feely events. Now I consistently speak at large forums with

thousands attending, and the audiences are almost equally divided. Something radical clicked within the minds of these men, because the “feminine” flavored content of these gatherings has not changed much. The number of people identifying themselves as religious is declining, while those who identify themselves as spiritual is rising. My book, Pope Annalisa is a spiritual thriller that I had to self-publish because it was too unusual for mainstream publishing. But in 2012, out of nowhere, actors and producers in Hollywood got hold of it, loved the content, and I signed a movie deal. A new consciousness has made Hollywood ready for the book. The gateway to higher consciousness is balancing our male/female energies to make intuition and intellect work in harmony. A tipping point will occur when enough people awaken by personal experience to the true nature of our reality. We are the seeds of consciousness. One day, all those seeds will be gathered into the one basket from which we came. Then, as one great figure said, we shall be near the Kingdom of Heaven.

conundrums can be addressed by looking at our blood type. It’s true. Knowing about our loved ones’ blood types, helps us to better understand them. Whether an O, A, B or AB, our blood type dictates certain tendencies in our personality. As in any modality that seeks to understand human nature, blood typing adds a wonderful dimension to how we can live in harmony and joy with others.

They are typically strong willed without being stubborn. The O’s live life feeling free from the restraints of most of the rules; however they do follow the ones they think are relevant, logical and congruent with their conscience.

A ~ The calm, self-controlled A is

O ~ The O blood group is the

most flexible, easy-going, openminded, and honest of all the blood groups. They are people-people who don’t like feeling isolated, and are at their best when surrounded by friends and family. The O’s are bold and brave and come to the defense of those unfairly treated. Quick-witted and nimble-footed, they make swift choices responding with both brain and heart, which they trust equally. They are the romantics of the blood types, never ceasing to believe in love. With romance in their heart and

a group with a Zen-like personality. The subdued emotions of the A’s can be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on the circumstances. A’s are known to be the most responsible blood type, and they try to do the right thing whether in quitting a job or breaking up with a partner. All is done with integrity, logic and reasoning. One of the many positive traits of the A’s is that they have both high self-esteem and humility. They have no need to prove themselves to anyone. A’s make gracious hosts, and have an innate ability to make people feel comfortable just as they are. They are wonderful party people because they are very well liked; however, if they had to choose they

would opt out for a few deep friendships rather than many superficial ones. They have subtle, delicate personalities full of grace and presence, and should be treasured for their beautiful nature.

No surprise – they are also known to be the players of all of the blood types. They are passionate and become very attached to the special people in their lives, especially older friends. They are self-assured, speak their minds, and do just as they like, regardless of other people’s opinions. They have a broad range of interests, which they immerse themselves into with great passion. When they get involved it’s all or nothing, yet this doesn’t limit them to just one cause. They have the ability to pour energy and passion into each new interest as it comes along. In fact, these multi-talented people can quite effortlessly maneuver among their varied interests. They are regarded to be the fearless blood group - risk-takers at heart. Living life fully is the M.O. of the B’s.

AB ~ The AB blood group has

been given the moniker “genius/ crazy”. Intellectual, analytical, creative and compassionate, they think outside the box and are strategists by nature. But they are not just all brain; they like to be around

people too. One of their unique qualities is their captivating wit, which brings them many friends. Although friendly, the AB doesn’t always make a good first impression. They often hide their true nature until they assess the situation at hand. It isn’t until they trust someone they are able to show their true selves. The AB is the blood group that is the least satisfied with the way things are – always questioning ‘why’. Their intellect is always working on ways to answer their many questions and they continually conjure up new ways to create the most ideal to be celebrated - sometimes they are like A’s, sometimes like B’s, and sometimes a brew all their own. With an artistic, giving nature, wrapped up in a logical, witty intellect, the AB is a blood type that gives the world both more character and more joy. Knowing how blood type effects people can be an enormous asset when interacting with family, friends, lovers, and colleagues. Since the 1920s the Japanese have been examining how people’s attitudes and actions can be partially defined by our blood type. Korean culture uses this understanding in human resource departments, as well as in dating services. Lack of information and understanding is often what causes problems in relationships. Crop Circles are designs pressed or laid, into fields of wheat, barley, or oil seed rape (canola) all over the world. Most concentrated and numerous in England, they ‘appear’ usually over night during spring and summer. Once the wheat crop is harvested the designs are gone from the field. Whatever amalgamation of energies, conditions, or consciousness produces the physical phenomenon of Crop Circles, they are, in the end, a gift of love.

Miracles and the Functions of Crop Circles This most wondrous phenomenon called Crop Circles closely parallels

what you call miracles. Miracles are phenomena beyond any scientific explanation and any certain ‘control’ that you can have over them. You cannot control a miracle. Oh, you can create some tricks of magic and cause some amazing things to happen. But to instantly manifest a true specific miracle is not possible as you do not yet have the ability to harness the complex unseen forces, elements and consciousness needed for such. If you are wishing to participate with miracles you must be in a very special place of humility and openness in order to collaborate with universal forces. You must have quite an understanding that the physical realm is indeed an illusion of trapped light. Taking all this into consideration when comparing Crop Circles to miracles you can begin to understand that Crop Circles like miracles emanate from beyond time and space as you know it to be. Crop Circles are beyond linear and logical explanation. So how can you comprehend them when the phenomena are something you’re physically, tangibly seeing? What is needed is a new internal software of the brain and mind that you as a human being can develop. You are discovering at a scientific level, from your quantum physics, that the application of consciousness – intention and attention – can change the wave function of the subatomic into particle function which, in coming together, eventually forms matter in a certain way. Wave function becoming particle function is the result of the energetics of observation and intention, the energy of consciousness itself. Could it be that Crop Circles are created out of moving wave function into particle function with a collaborative effort

of many consciousnesses including human (along with some mechanical processes as well)? If that is the case and human consciousness is included in the creation of a Crop Circle, why don’t people know it? Well, some do. Some people sit down, use their consciousness, and meditate very hard to co-create a Crop Circle design using intention, attention and alignment with the unseen circle-making forces. For example, a group may say, “I want a pentagram in a circle”. And they squeeze their energy out, and they push it out, and they push out their love and lo and behold they may get a pentagram in a circle appearing as a Crop Circle in a nearby field. There are numerous stories of this sort of conscious co-creation occurring. You can see a consciousness link is emerging and developing. Many Crop Circle formations are clearly connected to the human collective unconscious mind (yin yang symbols for example, binary code messages, etc.). References to cultural histories are sometimes manifested in Crop Circle depictions, for example the Mayan calendar.

Functions of Crop Circles More important than asking who or what is making Crop Circles is to ask WHY are they being made. The key to grasping the ‘why’ is to look at how the phenomena of Crop Circles function in the world. As form follows function, the effect Crop Circles have on people can show us their function. Here is where the fun begins, here is where you can expand your view of your reality. What is their function? I.e what effect are they having on people? Well, Crop Circles are certainly functioning to wake humanity up. But it doesn’t mean

that you’re dead asleep. It simply means there is a new world view opening up now. Crop Circles are opening people to their own multidimensional minds. Crop Circles are shaking up the consensus view of reality because there is no linear logical explanation for them. They are also functioning to bring individuals into the fields – into appreciating and respecting nature and the planet. In addition, Crop Circles are functioning to awaken humanity to certain organizing principles, to beauty, wonder, magic, mystery, sacred geometry, diatonic ratios, reconciling of duality, and most importantly, to the interconnectedness of consciousness – human and other. Perhaps the biggest hidden function of all is that Crop Circles demonstrate principles of co-creation. With Crop Circles you are co-creating with other intelligences of the universe. Your reality, and its new emerging paradigm, is not just about you anymore (never really was). Now as your view of yourselves becomes more cosmic and galactic you are becoming aware there’s more to the unified field than you previously thought. Crop Circles are functioning to exhibit that the unified field of multidimensional consciousness is real – and the unified field of consciousness (human and other) can collaborate with intention and attention to produce beautiful miracles that hold meaning and evolution in their embrace. piritual awareness often begins at the point where our inner thoughts reflectively seek meaning in the external world of our drama. This search empowers the transformation of unconscious perception into awakened vision. Such clarity creates the understanding that we are always, consciously or unconsciously, choosing and co-creating our existence. Most people tend to live their lives as though sleepwalking through a fog bank. They grope for direction and meaning while frequently and painfully stubbing their toes on the potholes of life’s dramas. Life appears to happen randomly, and from these beliefs, it is easy to see ourselves as the victim of circumstance. As a result, one tends to live their life in a state of reaction rather than response. Life from this perspective can, at times, seem like a constant barrage of painful experiences, each of which seemingly validates that we are not in control of our own destiny. It becomes easy to imagine unforeseen forces that plot against the joy we most want.

Life from this challenging perspective tends to run its course until the day enough pain and negativity stacks up and, like the last straw that breaks the proverbial camel’s back, the sleepwalker wakes up and declares “Enough... That is it... NO, I’m not taking this anymore. I’m done with this.” Any number of infinite life lessons around the subjects of romance, parents, siblings, children, money, career, health, home, responsi-

bility, recovery, you name it, can trigger the opportunity for an awakening and spiritual breakthrough.

In truth, the declaration of “NO” begins our first baby step in getting clear about what we do not want to create so that we become clearer about what we DO want to create. This moment of truth prompts a courageous stand from which one resolves to face what may be their greatest fear. Regardless of what instigates the declaration, it appears that this courageous stand opens a momentary space of grace from which the runof-the-mill sleepwalker’s head now pops up out of the fogbank of emotional pain and suffering. Now looking beyond, the sleepwalker can see with clearer vision and sense with great excitement, new possibilities. Pain and suffering has been replaced by peace and insight. To the ego, our fearfully-attached part of consciousness, such moments of awakening signal that suffering will soon be released and that with this, a wise new vision will soon take place. Attentive to its job, the ego quickly shifts into high gear in order to neutralize such an awareness, for its life literally depends on it. The neutralizing is accomplished through redirecting attention back at the original unresolved fear that eventually prompted the awakening. Once consciousness is turned, the tactic is to replay the fearful experience over and over again until attachment and suffering reoccurs. Does this sound familiar?

Not to blame, the ego is doing its job of self-preservation, for it knows once full awareness or enlightenment is achieved, it ceases to exist. So, prepared for such moments, the ego has strategically projected our deepest fears (not being loved or finding love, failing, not being successful, etc.) into the future. The ego, which has harvested all of our prior fearful thoughts, words and actions, has placed them there. These future fears are at the command of ego and they await its order to release, collide with and obliterate our newly-awakened insight. Our collected fears sit waiting, a metaphorical kitchen sink that is clogged with our drama. At the time of our new awareness, choice has sparked a new sense of peace and joyful perception. With this, the ego now calls for the release of our fears, and like a mighty slingshot, the drama-filled kitchen sink is now launched back toward us at warp speed. Quickly, the fearful and attached part of the mind reacts and redirects our attention. We were once at peace, in the moment, and our head above the drama (fog bank); however, now our attention is turned to a concern, and an object is moving at us from a distance. As it draws nearer we sense its high rate of speed and a pending danger. As it gets ever closer it appears to be on a collision course with our head, which now rests just safely above the fog bank. As it draws even closer, we finally recognize that it is a kitchen sink, and we prepare for impact.

Again, our life slips back into a familiar and unpleasant groove, and our life situation reaches another prompting point of change. Our lessons learned have reduced our suffering, and we are more quick to declare, “No, I’m really, really done with this situation, this time.” Again, instantaneously, we find our head has popped out of the fog bank of emotional pain and suffering. The view is as we remembered: peaceful, full of hope and possibilities. Our mind becomes momentarily distracted by the memory of the kitchen sink, its possible return and the experience of dropping back into the fog bank. We begin to recall that at the fearful moment the kitchen sink almost hit us that we had ducked. We also vividly remember that at the moment we ducked we dropped back down into the fog bank and returned to suffering. Inwardly, we courageously commit that we will not duck if the sink comes again. As the thought of this conviction passes, the sink in fact does reappear and rapidly approaches on course with our head. Just before impact and true to our commitment, we do not duck; instead, we blink. In a nanosecond, we again find ourselves back in the fog bank of our drama and suffering. The groove of our drama now seems deeper and more painful, yet our awareness is now peaked and accompanied by a resolve to end the suffering as quickly as possible. We will no longer allow our drama to chain the freedom that lifts our perspective. As our life situation boils again to another point of clarity we again proclaim, “No, I’m really, really, really done with this... this time.”

As the kitchen sink approaches closer and closer, so also does our survival center alarm, “Danger: Kitchen sink coming toward head at warp speed. Prepare to duck.” As it reaches the point of impact, we instinctively duck. Instantly, we notice we are alive and that our head, which once rested peacefully above the fog bank, is now back (body and all) in the same drama and suffering of the past.

Again, as if by a miracle, we find our head above turmoil and glimpse an even greater beauty and peace than we had prior seen or experienced. As we bathe in the experience of this moment, we again become mindful of our onceprojected fears, now coming back on us in a collision course with our presenttime awareness. As the kitchen sink materializes, once more it draws ever nearer and in a reflective pause, we recall in clarity that the act of ducking and blinking (avoiding the confrontation of our fear) immediately returned us back to the fog bank of drama and suffering. With lessons learned we now draw from an even deeper courage and conviction. We vow to ourselves that we will not duck or blink in the face of fear, even if it means losing our life. We confirm in a valiant surrender that if the kitchen sink were to strike us and literally take our head off, we will not even flinch. As quickly as this thought passes, the sink appears out of nowhere and is clearly on a direct course of impact with our head. Firmly we hold to our faith and resolve, and just at the moment of pending impact, we watch as the sink just vaporizes. We now understand that our fears were only but an illusion. Instantly, we now discover that our entire body has popped out of the fog bank. With our greatest fear now faced, our breakthrough realized and an even greater vision of possibilities on the horizon, we more fully own our courage and triumphantly declare: “I take full responsibility for my co-creativity and from this moment forward I WILL choose to create from what I lovingly want to experience.” Ultimately, it is our courage to face our greatest fears and choose another way that empowers us to claim our hero within, and with this journey ever-forward toward breakthrough realizations that reveal the kingdom of enlightenment within. Small Stuff of

At my father’s hospital bedside, during the end stages of his cancer, I noticed his fingernails were in need of a trim. When I asked him why they were so long he replied he had been asking for two weeks for someone to clip them. I proceeded to groom my father’s hands, and then his feet. It is then I realized that when in the throes of great suffering, grief and chaos, otherwise loving caring people, frequently unintentionally overlook the small things that help a person hold onto their dignity. This, one of the numerous lessons my wise father taught me. I was reminded of my father’s untended nails while at a friend’s gathering in Colorado where twenty people of various ages and genealogies had come together for dinner. An elderly woman, tastefully dressed in a Pendleton plaid skirt and matching emerald jacket, a next door neighbor to my friend’s parents, was left at the table alone with me as the younger guests scattered for the television or for other conversational opportunities, while the more dutiful ones tackled the dirty dishes in the kitchen. Sitting across the dining table from each other, we found our way through a variety of topics and I learned she has been living alone ever since her brother passed away five years ago. I listened closely as she shared the story of her husband’s passing many years earlier, the unfortunate spill she took several months ago that left her with constant back pain, as well as the more recent condition of macular degeneration that plagues her and prevents her from being able to drive. Now at the age of 82, it has fallen to my friend’s parents to do what they can to help her remain independent

and continue living in the modest home she has kept for thirty years. Somehow, as is so often the case with conversations with strangers that usually take place on airplanes or in hospital waiting rooms, I learned some especially personal things. Finding at least a willing ear, or maybe sensing I was a kindred spirit, she expressed her frustrations about her situation without complaint or whine, without exaggeration or repetition. I was reminded how much we need one another especially in times of sickness and as we grow old. I was also reminded how easy it is not to think, while we are in our own fine health, about the limits to our independence and the luxury of freedom and how we too often take them both for granted. The thing that troubles this elderly widow doesn’t have anything to do with health insurance or money or the lack thereof, or with regrets and guilt. None of the big stuff that tends to weigh upon even the youngest of yuppies. It’s toenails that concern her now too, and how since her macular degeneration, she’s not able to care for her feet the way she wants to do. Without hesitation, or thinking it might be even the slightest bit forward or peculiar, I offered right there at the dinner table to clip her toenails if she wanted me to. It was one of those moments, where you can’t help but get the message loud and clear that happiness doesn’t always require attention to the big stuff. It’s usually the small stuff, the stuff of toenails. WP: To that issue, it seems to be the direction that people are beginning to embrace; acknowledging that there is something bigger than them, there is a destiny within them to connect with the essence of who they are. NDW: Yes, but when you walk down the street in New York City and question what percentage of the population is holding those ideas, it is the minority. Our job now within the next 10 or 15 years is to raise consciousness around spirituality. I call it the “Civil Rights Movement for the Soul”, understanding our relationship to God. “The Civil Rights Movement of the Soul” is what we need. It is what MLK did for the Blacks what Harvey Milk did for Gays, what Gloria Steinem did for Woman… for all humanity. I want to create an organization called “The Humanity’s Team”. WP: That would be a fantastic undertaking and I am sure you will be spearheading that in some way, as you have been doing, it seems your mission. NDW: : I hope to be involved. WP: Absolutely. Let me ask you a question I put to everybody: our magazine is called “The Whole Person”, is Neale Donald Walsch a whole person? NDW: No, I would be lying if I said yes, but I am moving rapidly in that direction. This brings to mind a guy who pulled up on a curb one day as I was walking down the street and he said “Excuse me.” So I walked over to the car and asked “Where do you want to

go?” He said, “I don’t know.” “Let me know when you know then I can give you some directions.” That is where I was for the last 15 years of my life. No, I am not demonstrating what a whole person is about and no one who knows me would disagree. I am clear that I need not just talk a good game but walk a good game. I said to my wife last night, wouldn’t it be nice if I lived up to my writing.

WP: Will they be able to interact with you? NDW: Yes, interactively.

WP: Yes, well there is the human in us; I think you do an amazing job. Of course I don’t know you personally, but there is a deep knowing and a deep commitment to what you do. You do if for humanity, planting seeds and helping and encouraging all of us. NDW: I think I would embrace that notion of who I am, but I would not accept it on the personal level of failing or not demonstrating what I know to be true, and know myself to be. Because of that, I have a deep appreciation to close the gaps in between what many intuitively know at the level of soul and what many are being challenged to demonstrate. Not an easy task, as my wife would say.

WP: You are amazing for one in that you have done the work of someone who has spent double, triple the years that you have. In the last 15 years you have been marshaling all of the energies to bring to us you. NDW: That is very kind. What is interesting is that I am not sure I would have been ready for, or have done what I did. This occurred at just the right moment. The other psychological thing that I would like to respond to you in regards to your kind words is that I am an ordinary guy ‒ an ordinary person with an extraordinary experience. I struggle mightily everyday to step into and to deserve this extraordinary encounter I have had.

WP: Thank you for your honesty. To come full circle, you have a new book “The Only Thing That Matters”, and you are still writing. Do you have a lot of outside activity planned, like journeying around the planet? NDW: To some degree. I put together a 3-camera studio I hope to produce video contact on our channel for TV available to people I hope to do global events on. I have done one in Scotland. So now I can do seminars in France for example, right in my TV studio.

WP: Oh, that’s fantastic. I want to say it has been a pleasure to have this dialogue with you and I want to say I’m a big admirer of the work that you have done, so to you a big, gracious, heartfelt thank you. NDW: Tony, you are very kind.

At the heart of matter is consciousness, which appears to be experienced as emptiness, the void and extreme aloneness. Think about it, and imagine how your presence could show up without the armor you carry into a fight. You are ready for a re-birth of sorts on this, a rising above the mire you have been living in. Take the lead and allow yourself a new vision of what is possible. Standing on the shoulders of past practices and commitments find a new vision. Use the intensity in your being to fit a final piece into place for completion. The Creator within comes forth more and more as you stand your ground and signal you are ready, willing and able to proceed. You will need and want more and more patience for the completion to really take hold. Soon enough you will be in better alignment with the intensity of the fire within and the higher purpose of your life.

for you to celebrate your success. While there can be much more to accomplish, take the time now to celebrate what is already here.
