Odlotowa Galeria, Odlotowy mebel i Biblioteka Podróżnych to trzy przedsięwzięcia, które w tym roku zrealizuje ASP w Katowicach na lotnisku Katowice Airport. Porozumienie w tej sprawie podpisali rektor ASP w Katowicach Marian Oslislo oraz prezes Górnośląskiego Towarzystwa Lotniczego SA Artur Tomasik Sky Gallery, Out-of-this-world furniture and Travellers’ Library. Three projects which will be realised by ASP Katowice at Katowice Airport. The rector of ASP in Katowice, Marian Oslislo and the President of the Upper Silesian Aviation Group, Artur Tomasik, recently signed an agreement regarding these projects

In founding Project for Public Spaces in 1975, Fred Kent was guided by the need for a unique approach to complex spatial problems. His aim was to ensure that the ideas generated within the Project for Public Spaces, were transformed into effective methods of evaluation, thus

allowing for an understanding of the manner in which public spaces function.

The Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (ASP) and the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL) were also guided by aims similar to those of Fred Kent, in

Fred Kent, zakładając w roku 1975 organizację Project for Public Spaces, kierował się potrzebą unikalnego podejścia do złożonych problemów przestrzennych.

Chciał, by idee powstałe w Project for Public Spaces przekształcały się w skuteczne metody wartościowania, pozwalające rozu-

kierowali się podobnymi do opisanych przez Freda Kenta założeniami.

Design odgrywa zasadniczą rolę w tworzeniu nowych produktów, usług i systemów – to sposób znajdowania najlepszych rozwiązań nastawionych na różnorodnych użytkowników i klientów.

Myślenie projektowe to także dbałość o zrównoważony rozwój oraz odpowiedź na oczekiwania społeczne. Design wymaga specjalistycznej wiedzy i systemu wsparcia jego wdrożenia. Może pozytywnie wpływać na prze-

śląskimi przedsiębiorcami, projektantami, przedstawicielami jednostek samorządu terytorialnego i środowiskiem akademickim. „Odlotowa Galeria”, „Biblioteka Podróżnych” oraz konkurs na „Odlotowy mebel” są częścią projektu o nazwie „Design Silesia II”, stanowiącego kontynuację działań zapoczątkowanych w 2010 roku, których głównym celem jest przybliżenie przedsiębiorcom, samorządom i środowisku akademicko-naukowemu tematu designu oraz zachęcanie do

Pierwszą wystawą będzie prezentacja rezultatów konkursu pn. „Odlotowy mebel” na projekt mebli przeznaczonych do przestrzeni publicznej. Praca, która zajmie pierwsze miejsce, zostanie zrealizowana, a prototyp mebla wystawiony na ekspozycji.

Oprócz tego Galeria będzie prezentowała wystawy związane z designem, wystawy prac studentów ASP Katowice oraz wystawy pokonkursowe.

Wspólne działania ASP Katowice i GTL SA obejmują również projekt „Biblioteki Podróżnych”, czyli miejsca gdzie pasażerowie mogą zapoznać się z najnowszymi publikacjami na temat designu oraz publikacjami śląskich instytucji związanych z designem. Oprócz wydawnictw drukowanych, za pomocą najnowszych urządzeń multimedialnych, będą udostępnione publikacje elektroniczne związane ze śląskim designem oraz z historią kultury materialnej na Śląsku.

Podczas uroczystości podpisania porozumienia prof. Marian Oslislo podkreślił, że Galeria będzie prezentować nie tylko design czy prace projektantów i artystów związanych z katowicką ASP, ale również będzie jednym z elementów promocji uczelni oraz całego województwa śląskiego.

Natomiast prezes GTL SA Artur Tomasik, odnosząc się do liczby odprawionych pasażerów, zaznaczył że będzie to jedna z największych sal wystawienniczych w regionie.

„Design Silesia” to projekt systemowy Samorządu Województwa Śląskiego, zaplanowany do realizacji w ramach Poddziałania 8.2.2 Regionalne Strategie Innowacji PO KL. Liderem przedsięwzięcia jest Wydział Europejskiego Funduszu Społecznego Urzędu Marszałkowskiego, a partnerami są: Akademia Sztuk Pięknych w Katowicach, Politechnika Śląska w Gliwicach, instytucja kultury Ars Cameralis Silesiae Superioris i Zamek Cieszyn.

The joint activities of ASP Katowice and GTL also include the „Travellers’ Library” – a place where passengers can look through the latest design publications and the publications of Silesian institutions connected with design. Apart from printed publications, passengers will be able to view electronic versions of many publications related to Silesian design and the history of material culture in Silesia, using the latest multimedia devices.

The winning design project will be built and the resulting prototype will be displayed. In addition, the gallery will present exhibitions connected with design, the works of students from ASP Katowice and exhibitions of competition entries.

“Design Silesia” is a project of the Self-government of the Silesian Voivodeship, realised as part of Sub-measure 8.2.2 of the Regional Innovation Strategies for Human Capital. Leading the project is the European Social Funds Division of the Marshal’s Office. The project’s partners are the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Ars Cameralis Silesiae Superioris and the Cieszyn Castle.
