Childcare And Camps

Preschool

Set your preschooler up for school success. Willamalane’s teachers create academic opportunities through early STEM and literacy curriculum and help kids to develop social and emotional skills that prepare them for kindergarten. Participants must be 3 years old by Sept. 9, 2023 and toilet trained to attend. To be able to register, kids must be signed up for the School Year Pass 23-24. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Scholarships are available for all programs. Learn more and register at willamalane.org/preschool.

LITTLE LEARNERS: FULL-TIME PRESCHOOL

Ages 3-5. This program offers learning and early childhood care in a full-day setting. Your preschooler will learn through collaborative and hands-on play. Children will enjoy early literacy programs, art, creative movement, and imaginative play. The ratio of staff members to children is 1:10.

FRIENDLY FINCHES: PART-TIME PRESCHOOL

Ages 3-5. This preschool program is a nurturing introduction to what it’s like to be in a school setting. Children enjoy story time, early literacy programs, art, creative movement, and imaginative play. The ratio of staff members to children is 1:10.

READY ROBINS: PART-TIME PRESCHOOL

Ages 3-5. This class meets the growing needs of students who are ready for a more structured class time. Learning focuses on the skills necessary for success in kindergarten. Trained staff members work with children to expand reading, writing, science, and math concepts. Children also enjoy art, creative movement, and imaginative play. The ratio of staff members to children is 1:10.

JUMPING JAYS: PART-TIME PRESCHOOL

Ages 3-5. Willamalane and Early Childhood CARES offer this inclusive learning environment to ensure students reach their full potential during these critical pre-kindergarten years. Skilled teachers incorporate interests, abilities, and cultural differences into individualized educational experiences. Classroom elements include circle time, snack time, early literacy, fine and gross motor activities, and hands-on exploration. Education consultants provide regular support to students. This program follows the Early Childhood CARES service calendar. The ratio of staff members to children is 1:8.

MAPLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Kids Club and No School Days

KIDS CLUB

Grades K-5. Kids Club is a safe and fun after-school care program for elementary students. Kids enjoy games, arts and crafts, science experiments, and more. Care is available after school with extended hours on early release days.

Kids can only attend Kids Club at the school where they are enrolled. Willamalane will open sites as staffing resources allow. For more information, visit willamalane.org/KidsClub.

No School Days

Grades K-5. No school days operate at Ridgeview, Yolanda, and Douglas Gardens Elementary Schools. Enrollment is open to all Springfield Public School elementary students. If registering two or more participants, get 20% off each registration.

11/29: The Adventures of Captain Underpants

Trallalala! Join George and Harold on their adventures with America’s newest superhero in underpants. Themed activities and active games fill this day off from school.

Step right up to the “Greatest Show on Earth.” Students will participate in circus-themed activities and carnival games to unleash their inner performer.

Two50 Youth Center

Grades 6–8. Two50 is a free club for Springfield middle schoolers. Willamalane staff will supervise a variety of activities and games. It’s a great place to do homework, hang out with friends, play video games, and have fun. It’s conveniently located in Bob Keefer Center with daily after-school hours. Winter Break Camps

SKILLS CAMP: ELEMENTARY

Basketball

Ages 9–11. Get ready for the next After-School All-Stars season, Willamalane’s after-school sports league at Springfield elementary schools! This basketball skills camp will train campers with essential dribbling, passing, and shooting drills. They will work with skilled instructors to develop their confidence, self-worth, and love for the sport.

SKILLS CAMP: MULTI-SPORTS

Ages 6–11. Experience a multi-sport adventure and learn the basics of various athletics. Coaches will focus on teaching fundamentals such as sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation, physical skills, and, most importantly, having fun. Participants will have a blast while getting a taste of different sports!

SKILLS CAMP: MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL

Ages 11–13. Join the fun with this skills-based camp where participants will improve their basketball fundamentals. The basketball camp will train students through essential drills on dribbling, passing, shooting, and game experience. Experienced Middle School Sports coaches will help students build confidence, self-esteem, and passion for the game.
