Besides going through a coaching change this year, the Vols will also go through a sideline change. When the Vols kick off the 2010 season on Sept. 4 versus the University of Tennessee-Martin, they will have a new sideline. The Vols called the west sideline home until 1994 when the Southeastern Conference created a policy that prohibited student seating directly behind a visiting team bench. Prior to the start of the 2010 season, the Vols will play their annual Orange and White game on Saturday, April 17th at 3:00 p.m. ET. Be sure to come out and show your support for the Tennessee Football team!

Golf Facility Update The Mack and Jonnie Day Golf Practice Facility, which was designed in association with the Greg Norman Design Group, currently is under construction. The facility, which is located alongside the Tennessee River west of Alcoa Highway on the Cherokee campus, will serve as home for the Tennessee Golf teams as well as the Turfgrass Research Center. The first phase of the project includes three practice holes, the M.C. James Driving Range and pitching and putting areas. Rye grass is being planted this winter and the greens are being collared. In the summer of 2010, Bermuda grass will be planted and the tee boxes will be sodded for opening in fall 2010. Phase II will include the Bonnie P. Blackburn Clubhouse, featuring heated hitting bays for yearround practice, video training space and locker rooms for both the men's and women's teams. This will serve as the home for Volunteer and Lady Volunteer Golf.
