askerville was designed in 1757 by John Baskerville, in Birmingham, England. It was created at the end of 18th century whereas in the 18th century, Garamond and Bembo are more dominant at that time. Baskerville was inspired from Caslon Old Style by increasing the contrast between thick and thin line Baskerville was known as Transitional typeface because of the middle transformation between Old typeface and Modern typeface. Baskerville’s typeface was an important inspiration for Bodoni and Didot, who pushed their designs toward even greater contrast and geometric refinement. The harmony and beauty of Baskerville make it use in many books and magazines because its elegance and refinement make it an excellent typeface to convey dignity and tradition.
