Welcome As we enjoy the arrival of fall in Florida, plans are well underway for the start of the new season, and we welcome the return of our Members and their families. We also welcome the return of our staff and some new additions to our team. Joining us this season is Ryan Skipton, our new Director of Golf. Skipton is a graduate of the Coastal Carolina University’s PGA Golf Management program, and most recently served as Director of Golf at the prestigious Georgia private club community The Ford Field & River Club. See page 7 for more information on Ryan’s background and his plans for the golf program at Windsor. In this issue we also provide an update on the North Village, Windsor’s final development phase. Over the summer, much work has been completed on the infrastructure and landscape plan for this new 47-acre neighborhood. Featuring 34 single-family residences and six Row Houses, the North Village will be host to a wide array of indoor and outdoor amenities. Included in the plan is a new state-ofthe-art Fitness and Wellness Centre that will have a robust offering of physical exercise activities, classes for mind and body, as well as a spa component.

Although the 2 p.m. match is always the highlight of the day, gates open at 10 a.m. and guests will find a full schedule of activities. A carefully curated selection of items will be available for purchase at the Specialty Retail
Village, with a percentage of the sales being donated to the chosen charities. Eventgoers also may purchase raffle tickets for the chance to take home luxury jewelry and other high-end prizes. Car enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunity to stroll past the magnificent cars presented by the Space Coast Region of Porsche Club of America as well as a halftime luxury automobile parade by Luxury Automobile Sponsor, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Audi of Melbourne. Guests with luncheon tickets will enjoy a champagne reception under the pavilion followed by a sumptuous sit-down meal prepared by Windsor’s Executive Chef Justin Shreiber. Tailgaters will have a front row seat for the action on the field as well as a prime spot to share a picnic basket. Each tailgate spot accommodates one vehicle with up to six guests, who are invited to compete for prizes in the tailgate decorating competition. This year’s theme: Fashion Trends Through the Decades. At half time, spectators are invited to converge on the field to partake in the long-standing polo tradition of the divot stomp. Proceeds from the day’s event will benefit three local charities. The Homeless Children’s Foundation of Indian River County, founded by Windsor Members in 2015, funds year-round enrichment activities including after-school programs and summer camp for children. Ballet Vero Beach leverages dance to help affect positive change through its education and community engagement efforts aimed toward children. The Indian River Land Trust focuses on protecting the area’s land and provides local youth groups and students with unique educational and research opportunities to engage in nature. The Windsor Charity Polo Cup is a signature event offering sponsorship opportunities that support these worthy charities. Sponsorship allows businesses to showcase their products and services to a diverse and highly affluent audience. There are still a few attractive sponsorship opportunities available.

Anglo-Caribbean style. Homesites are still strategically sited to take advantage “The North Village is a special opportunity to reimagine how residential communities can be stewards of the environment and strengthen the fragile ecosystems of the Indian River Lagoon,” Stein says. The design duo, known for work that balances creativity with pragmatism, is helping Windsor create a landscape for the North Village that will bolster biodiversity and reduce resource-intensive landscape maintenance. The plan also will “create a curated outdoor setting that improves the health and well-being of both people and nature,” he says. Windsor’s idyllic setting nestled between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean makes it a haven for osprey, pelicans, otters, turtles and other wildlife. To protect these creatures, Windsor’s North Village will feature a sparkling freshwater lake encircled by native plantings that filter runoff and attract birdlife. An estuary will connect to the Indian River Lagoon and create a wetlands environment. The Windsor landscape team’s goal is to restore the natural hammocks native to this part of Florida. The new facility also will house rooms set up for luxurious spa treatments, a juice bar and cozy spaces for relaxation. To foster a sense of connection with nature, fitness programming will extend into the outdoors. Windsor’s architectural code, originally designed by New Urbanist pioneers Andrés Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk of DPZ CoDESIGN, called for homes that are beautiful, timeless and well-suited to Florida’s history and climate. In the North Village, a mix of 34 single-family residences and six Row Houses will be built with the distinctive Windsor look – with a few well-considered alterations. Its harmonious atmosphere is elevated by design that thoughtfully aligns centerlines and axes, focusing attention on key visual elements. A raised garden and fountain in the auto court frame the formal entry to the home. The view corridor continues inside with the spacious foyer opening to the living room, which in turn opens through French doors to a colonnaded loggia overlooking the pool and the golf course.
