Snow Season is Underway!
Know how the town’s snow removal service works and how to navigate around snowplows (and other snow removal equipment) when on the roads.
The Public Services Snow & Ice Team works long hours and overnight during snowstorms, providing the traveling public with the safest surface possible and keeping essential traffic moving. Once snow starts to fall, the first priorities are to keep main arterials and collection streets along with critical facilities such as police and fire departments plowed and treated with deicing materials. Depending on the severity of the snowstorm, residential through streets, alleyways, etc. will be plowed after main arterials and collection streets are restored.
Snowstorms are unpredictable and the Snow & Ice Team is constantly monitoring conditions, reevaluating and changing their plan of attack. Bottom line, most of the snow removal resources will be allocated to where the biggest hazard is.
This team is committed to keeping essential traffic moving during the winter months. Remember to bow to the plow, slow down and give them plenty of room to work.

Sign Up for an Indoor Water Efficiency Audit
The weather is getting colder, but opportunities to lower your utility bill are year-round!
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average American family uses over 300 gallons of potable water per day at their home. During an indoor water audit, Windsor’s Water Efficiency Specialist inspects the home or business for water leaks, unintended uses of water and inefficient appliances. Whenever possible, the town specialist will suggest repairs, rebates and potential cost-saving upgrades. In some cases, residents will be provided with new shower heads and faucet aerators.
Indoor audits are available year-round and all Windsor residents, business owners, landlords and property managers are eligible. While outdoor audits are only available from April through October, spots are limited and signups are available for next season.
Help protect Windsor’s water resources by signing up for a free audit and following your custom water efficiency recommendations. Request your audit by visiting windsorgov.com/WaterAudit.
