Arbor Day 5K Run/Walk The Town of Windsor Tree Board will host the 10th Annual Arbor Day 5K Run/ Walk on Saturday, April 18th. The race will start and finish at Boardwalk Park and follow the Windsor Lake Trail. Proceeds will go towards planting trees throughout the community. Leashed dogs are welcome. Pre-register at the CRC or on race day beginning at 7am. Fee includes a t-shirt (while supplies last). Awards will be given to the top runners/walkers! Colorado Bike Month Leave the car at home and bike to work! To celebrate bicycling for transportation, fun and health, Colorado has designated June as Bike Month. While there will be many events around the state throughout the month, the highlight of the month is Bike to Work Day, when employees leave their cars at home and enjoy bicycling to work. Breakfast Station: A breakfast station will be provided at Spokes Bike Shop, located at 427 Main Street, for anyone riding their bike to work on Wednesday, June 24th. The station will be open from 6am-8am. Staff from Spokes and the Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture Department will be available to offer repair/help to riders who stop by. Fresh fruit, granola bars and other healthy snacks will be provided for FREE!

S.A.L.T.
Student Advisory Leadership Team
S.A.L.T. is a self-sustaining group made up of local Middle School and High School students who want to make a difference in the community. They are credited with providing over a dozen safe activities a year for teens and the community. The goal is to provide positive alternative activities that students will want to participate in. S.A.L.T. holds meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00pm, where new events are planned and ideas are discussed to better the community. If you are interested in learning more, contact Windsor Community Recreation Center at 970-674-3500.

Wal-Mart Shopping Trip The Wal-Mart trip is offered in conjunction with the Senior Ride Program. This trip allows Windsor Seniors, without transportation options, an opportunity to shop at the Timnath Wal-Mart. Participants must reside within the Windsor Town limits. The senior ride driver will pick up participants from their residence between 9 and 10am. Shopping hours are from 10-12noon. Scuba Camp Kids will have a blast learning about reefs, conservation, wildlife ID, compass navigation (land and water), scuba diving skills, use of lift bags, as well as safety and team building using the buddy system. Masters Swim Team Summer Underwater Fun and Games Spend some time under water using scuba equipment and playing games including blackjack, obstacle course and a “cap the well” game. CARA Swim Team This year-round opportunity provides an introduction to swimming that will teach life long skills of confidence and build friendships. Quilting As long as you know basic sewing skills you can take this class. In this class you will complete a simple (but way cute) quilt top that is 60” x 72”. We will be using polka dot fabrics in white, bright oranges and blues. Kit includes all fabrics for the top including border, backing and binding. Sports – Youth Coal Creek Midget Football League (CCMFL) This league is organized through the Coal Creek Midget Football League (CCMFL) and most teams are located along the Front Range and Northern Denver area. Windsor teams practice in Windsor and have an equal mix of home and road games. Games last about 2 hours. Participants are placed into divisions according to age. A player’s weight may prohibit them from playing certain positions. This league does not have an equal playing time requirement. The league follows 11-man NFHS rules with league specific additions or changes. Teams are scheduled for 6-8 games plus end of season playoff championship. The PAYS program helps parents and youth leagues work together to provide the best possible sports experience for children. If you have previously attended the PAYS portion of the Parent Meeting, you do not need to attend again. Concussion training starts at 6:45pm. This training educates parents about the signs and symptoms of concussions while emphasizing the seriousness of head injuries. All major forms of credit cards are accepted as well as cash, checks, money orders or cashier checks. **Payments by check: The Town of Windsor will charge a $15 service fee for all checks not honored for any reason by the bank. Checks should be made payable to “Town of Windsor” and should include your driver’s license or identification number, issuing state, and expiration date.** Full payment must be made at the time of registration.
Reduced Fees
Eligible participants in our Reduced Fee Program can receive a discount off the registration fee. Applications are available at the Community Recreation Center or online at www.windsorgov.com. Please see page 26 for information.
Refund Policy:
After initial registration, a refund request is required in writing a minimum of five (5) days prior to the start of any class or program to receive a full refund unless otherwise noted. Four (4) days prior to the start date and through the first week of the session, 50% of the registration fee is refundable. No refunds or transfers will be allowed after the first week of the session unless circumstances, stated in writing, warrant consideration. Refund request forms are located at the Community Recreation Center or visit www.windsorgov.com.
Full refunds will be given if the Recreation Division cancels a class or program. Please note: minimum participation numbers must be met or programs may be cancelled. No refunds or transfers will be accepted less than two (2) days prior to the start of a program that only meets once.

The registration deadlines for each event are listed in this brochure under the event description. A “first come, first served” wait list will be maintained after the deadline date to fill any remaining event openings.

Waiting List Procedure:
Waiting lists are a source of contact and do not guarantee you will receive a call back. We will contact you only if a space becomes available. Waiting lists for a closed class or sport provides us with a name and phone number in the event of a cancellation or if a new class is added. It does not limit you from registering for any other open class.
Minimums/Maximums:
Class sizes are limited to assure class quality and safety. Minimum participation numbers must be met or programs may be cancelled.
Team Selection:
The Parks, Recreation & Culture Department’s goal is to provide participants opportunities to form new friendships, and have a fun recreational atmosphere with teams as balanced as possible. Special requests are not taken. Only the head coach and one assistant coach’s children are placed on teams together. Teams are randomly selected by computer or by assessments, separated by skill level, age or grade and gender if applicable.
Participants must recognize that all classes/ activities of a physical nature involve some risk and by registering for a class/activity of this nature, there is an assumption of risk by the participant. Every effort is made to ensure the safety of the participants and to provide them with first class recreational facilities, activities and parks. In the event of a serious accident or illness, it is the policy of the Town of Windsor to: 1. Call 911 for emergency personnel for first aid. 2. Reach the parent or guardian as soon as the situation allows. Each registration must have a waiver signed by either a parent or legal guardian.

Reduced Fee Program
The Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture Department has a reduced fee program that offers financial assistance to both children and adults who need support in order to participate in recreation activities.
