Welcome to IWINETC
On behalf of Wine Pleasures and the entire team behind IWINETC 2015, welcome to Reims and La Champagne. There’s no doubt that wine and culinary tourism continues to look to a brighter future with many published studies (some presented here at the conference in the talk programme) pointing to continued optimism. IWINETC brings together industry professionals from over 40 countries and it remains our passion to deliver a world-class insightful conference talk programme, to drive profitable business connections at both the exhibition area and workshop event and create inspirational networking opportunities during evening events and post conference Champagne Tours. Yesterday’s Welcome Reception held in the delightful City Hall of Reims, where some 150 conference delegates enjoyed an evening of networking kicked IWINETC 2015 off in style. IWINETC brings together a community of over 250 wine and wine and culinary tourism professionals. We strive hard to include talks based on needs and for that reason the conference programme offers 3 talks to choose from at each of the scheduled session slots and if that is not enough there is a large exhibition area to keep you busy with plenty of opportunities to discover grape escape ideas and taste wines from Croatia, Georgia, Italy, Spain and of course Champagne. Some exhibitors will be running competitions and raffles so make sure you take time out to participate. My hope is that your time with us in Reims and La Champagne is a memorable one and you gain valuable knowledge from the conference talk programme and make many profitable business connections with industry professionals across the globe.

Access
Wheelchair access is available from the registration on the ground floor to the Conference centre on the second floor. Toilets accessible by wheelchair are also available on the same floor.
Car Parking
There are around 200 parking places beneath the Conference Centre and the cost depends on how long you are parked up. To give you an idea 1h is 1,30 Euros (incl. VAT) and from 6 to 12h: 7,10 € (incl. VAT)
First Aid
First Aid is available for the duration of the conference. There dedicated staff available for any emergency or minor incident. Make your way to the registration desk to contact a member of the First Aid Team.
For exhibitors, there is separate car park which is covered in the registration fee with technical access (elevators) to the 2nd level. The car park is just after just after the underground car park entrance just follow the signs.

IWINETC Official Champagne Grand Tasting This will take place at the end of day 1 (please view the conference programme in this catalogue for details) and will consist of grabbing a flute and going from table to table tasting the great variety of champagnes from a select range of champagne producers.

Renovating A Wine Museum - Not A Straightforward Project!

The old Museu de Vilafranca- Museu del Vi, which dates back to 1935 is the first wine museum to be opened in Spain. Its. In the late 90s, the organization was outlawed from the official museums in Catalonia. This led to a major reform of the organization, which changed its legal form and its name, (now VINSEUM, Museum of the Wine Cultures of Catalonia). A thorough overhaul began (both architectural and museographical) to bring a vast heritage to legality and to accomplish the requirements of a twenty-first century museum. The efforts were rewarded in 2011 with the entrance of the museum in the official register of museums of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Highs and Lows of this achievement and lessons to be learned.
