CORNFLAKES Cornflakes Summer Camp Cornflakes Staff This unique outdoor-based camp offers a combination of creative activities and educational experiences for children ages 33 months through six years of age. Children are encouraged to explore their outdoor world through developmentally appropriate activities. The outdoor approach helps to increase each child’s awareness, enjoyment and respect for nature. Daily activities may include adventure walks down the Green Bay Trail, water play at Maple Beach and arts and crafts. Each week culminates with a special event. Campers attend a weekly ceramics lesson in our state of the art ceramics studio, take part in Spanish lessons and participate in a karate class. Counselors are college age or older. Children must be toilet trained by the first day of camp. Payment: 50% when registering; 50% by the first day of camp. Junior Counselor Program Cornflakes Staff This Camp is for students entering grades 7–9 in the fall. This camp is a combination of classroom time and practical job experience. A new camp for grades 6–8
Technology experience camp Chang Liu Have fun with real world technology this summer. The mission of the TEC is to provide middle-school-aged youth fun and experiential-driven learning opportunities in science and technology. Participants will be exposed to a wide variety of topics through first-hand experience, play and discovery. They will build, tinker, invent and engage their imagination. Camp activities are individually tailored and paced, covering beginner to advanced levels. No experience is necessary!
Module 3: Programming Academy
Computer coding and programming is fundamental in the world today. Learning computer code writing is a great way to exercise the mind. It teaches logic, creative problem solving, and smart strategy. Minecraft/Mobile App Camp Computer Explorers Discover, create and learn, as TechStars grants access to a proprietary Minecraft MOD you can’t get on your own! Learn the fundamentals of computer networking through this Minecraft experience that also allows you and your friends to work in multiplayer mode as you mine, craft and build together to survive. Working with a partner you will use your skills to explore all the secrets the world has to offer including a mysterious castle filled with challenges. No matter whether you are new to Minecraft or already love the program, this camp is for you! You will also learn how to make an Android phone come alive with your own apps! Working in teams, you will write your own voice recognition app, remote controller, compass, altimeter and much more. Some Android phones will be provided, but if you have one, bring it to test your app. When you finish the workshop, you will be able to take home your apps to continue development! Jr Fun Gineering and Video game programming Computer Explorers Young engineers will use LEGO simple machine kits to learn about structures and forces, levers, wheels and axles. Working in pairs you will learn what engineers do by building working models of vehicles, cranes and other fun projects. Create your own interactive games, puzzles and quizzes in this cool class. You and a partner will customize your game designs and add challenges and levels of difficulty. Then you will share them with the class. Please bring a snack and peanut-free lunch every day.
Camp Amigos Amigos Program Everyday will be a special day at Camp Amigos. We will laugh, play, create, sing, paint, cook and discover great wonders. Best of all, we will do it all while learning Spanish! Camp Amigos uses a highly controlled vocabulary introduced in conjunction with fun theme days. Chicago Bulls Basketball Schools The Chicago Bulls Training Academy This summer, learn from the best and let the Chicago Bulls teach you how to play like a champion! Since 1999, the Chicago Bulls have brought quality basketball camps to boys and girls throughout Chicagoland. More than 45,000 youth basketball players have developed essential basketball fundamentals including ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, individual moves, footwork and team concepts. We work on every part of your child’s game. Student to instructor ratio will be 10:1 or less. Each camper will receive a Chicago Bulls duffel bag, Bulls indoor/outdoor basketball, shirt, evaluation report and graduation certificate. During the camp each player will compete in the Bulls Skills Competition. At the end of the summer, the top three contestants will compete in the finals on the floor of the United Center (date to be decided). British Soccer Camp Challenger Sports British Soccer Camps provide young players of all abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international expert’s right in the heart of their own community. Membership Information Early registration: Members are eligible to register for all classes one week prior to the start of seasonal registration. No refunds will be allowed after this time unless a medical condition develops and a written explanation from a physician on his/her letterhead is presented. Due to advanced reservation requirements, no refunds for trips, outings or special events will be given.
Prorated Policy Classes may be prorated if you would like to enroll in a class after it has started, provided the instructor has space and allows for late registration. The supervisor must approve the prorated amount.
Inclement Weather Winnetka Community House will not hold classes on days when the Winnetka Public Schools have cancelled classes due to inclement weather.

Winnetka Community House is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in the safest manner possible, and holds the safety of the participants in the highest possible regard. Participants and parents registering their child in recreation programs must recognize, however, that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreation activities. Winnetka Community House continually strives to reduce such risks, and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions which have been designed to protect the participants’ safety.
