This year, it is easy to make your voice heard. The election to fill Hawaii’s open Congressional seat is our way to be a voice for change in Washington D.C. This MAIL-IN election is fast, easy and convenient — but it is a little different:
• It is on a different date – Election Day is Saturday, May 22. • It is a different way of voting – this is a “Vote By Mail” election. There will be no polling places open on Election Day.
PLEASE
REMEMBER
Your ballot must be received by the Elections Office no later than Saturday, May 22. Postmarks do not count, so mail your ballot in by Thursday May 20!
This Election is Important to Hawaii’s Teachers We need a Congressperson who will be a strong independent voice for change, and will bring common sense to fixing No Child Left Behind. Colleen Hanabusa will move away from a one-size-fits-all system that punishes schools and toward one that rewards success and supports educators in improving student learning. The Hawaii State Teachers Association has carefully evaluated the positions and the records of the candidates and found that there is one candidate who clearly supports our public schools and the education professionals who make them work. Colleen Hanabusa is a leader who stands with teachers here in Hawaii, and in Congress she will stand with all teachers.
HSTA and NEA recommend:
