OHS 1004 - Oregon Historical Society Piece 1, General 2010
Due to cuts in state funding, the Oregon Historical Society was struggling to provide services to Oregonians. in 2010, Multnomah County residents approved Measure 26-118 and instigated a five year levy to protect and support Oregon's history. Costing the median homeowner about $10 annually, voters understoond the importance of preserving and sharing Oregon's history for all - even in a struggling economy. The levy will raise about 150K annually for a total of 750K over the five years.
