Roundabout The House

FIONA LEACH has recently opened a new pre-loved interiors store in the centre of Bradford on Avon.

ABradford on Avon shopkeeper who started selling preloved children’s clothes more than three decades ago has just taken over her fourth shop in the historic town.

Fiona Leach started Roundabout in Bath and expanded into ladieswear creating Second Hand Rose, but road layout changes in the city meant the business was no longer viable, so she decided to relocate a few miles down the road in Bradford on Avon.

It turned out to be a fortuitous move. Second Hand Rose expanded and Fiona and her sister Katie decided to open another shop with new clothing and accessories – which they named after their late mother Heather. The success of this second shop spurred Fiona on to open a man cave – Alfred’s – a clothing and men’s accessories shop run by her son Edward.

Whilst most people were struggling with lockdown Fiona decided to go a step further and opened her fourth shop Roundabout the House, selling new and preloved interiors. The shop is situated on Market Street, right next door to Second Hand Rose. “After 33 years in the preloved business we find we have many followers who came in with their mums and now have a family of their own! I believe the reason business is booming is because recycling is now on trend ; when we started it was more or less unheard of.” says Fiona.

“Bradford on Avon is a very child, dog and old people friendly little town. There is always something for everyone with parks, canals, historic buildings, great restaurants and pubs and independent shops. Parking is easy too! We are open 7 days a week and accept items for sale without an appointment so customers can come in at any time. We sell items on a 50/50 commission.”
