THE LIONS SQUAD

Bath Rugby will have at least two British & Irish Lions touring South Africa this summer.

Anthony Watson and Taulupe Faletau have been named in the 2021 British & Irish Lions squad to tour South Africa this summer.

The Bath duo were included amongst the 37-man squad announced by Warren Gatland last month. The 2021 tour will mark Watson’s second outing with the British & Irish Lions, having started each of the three Test matches against New Zealand in 2017. A member of the senior leadership team at Bath Rugby, with 52 England caps to his name, Watson has appeared over 120 times for the Blue, Black and White since joining in 2013.

Bath and Wales Number 8 Faletau will go on his third tour with the Lions, following his debut for the tourists in the 2013 final Test against Australia; a game which saw the Lions secure their first series win since 1997.

The Lions play a friendly against Japan on 26 June at Murrayfield before departing for South Africa. The first test match takes place in Cape Town on Saturday 27 July. All Lions tour matches will be shown live on Sky Sports.

THE LAND ROVER PREMIERSHIP RUGBY CUP IS BACK

On the Saturday 19 June, Bath Rugby will host their 13th Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup at North Dorset RFC for the first time.

The under-11 and under-12 grassroots rugby festival is part of a series of nationwide events which provide aspiring young players the opportunity to play in a competitive event and meet professional players from Bath Rugby.

The events are designed to provide young players with a chance to play competitive fixtures in a format that is appropriate for their ages and stage of development, all within the spirit of rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.

Organisers expect the tournament to fill up quickly, so get in touch as soon as you can. For more information or to register your team, email community@bathrugby.com.
