Robert Wild to receive the WAI President’s Award
Robert Wild, president of Niehoff Endex North America, was named the recipient of the WAI President’s Award for 2023. The award goes to an individual who the current WAI president believes deserves recognition.
WAI President Kurt Breischaft said that Wild’s career has shown him to be an utterly dependable person who has excelled for both his employer as well as the WAI. “The new initiatives at the Association have continuously been with Robert’s genuine support since 2004, and his work as president and CEO of Niehoff Endex North America is something to be proud of. He is a true reflection of the supplier sector which encourages our show and the Association to constantly evolve.”
Wild serves on the Wire Journal International’s publication committee and has been a member of the Board of
Directors since 2019. His global perspective combined with his intimate knowledge of the North American industry was critical as the Board developed conference content and managed through the Covid disruption. He has had a strong presence, asking questions that pinpoint potential pluses and minuses of issues that relate to the Association’s trade shows. At the same time, he has continued to be a passionate advocate of the WAI’s educational mission as well as its other products and services.
Wild worked his way up the ranks at Niehoff. He started out in 1990 as a trainee at the Schwabach, Germany, plant of Maschinenfabrik Niehoff GmbH & Co. KG. Three years later he became assistant sales manager and marketing, a position he held for five years. He then was promoted to area sales manager, a post he held for five years. In 2004 he made the biggest change in his career. He was named president and CEO of Niehoff Endex North America, which is based in Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA. He has continued to serve in that position.
