WKU Greek chapters sponsor 33 Angel Tree Program children

In the DSU Nite Class, 29 WKU Greek organizations met to wrap Christmas gifts for 33 children sponsored through the Angel Tree program According to its website, the Angel Tree program is an extension of the Salvation Army where donors purchase Christmas gifts for underprivileged children and senior citizens Andrew Rash, the associate director of Student Activities, said this is the fourth year WKU Greek organizations have worked with the Angel Tree program Rash said philanthropy is at the core of many fraternities and sororities and the holidays make a perfect time to give back to the community.

WKU community celebrates another year on the Hill at ‘Hilltopper Family Fall Gathering’

President Timothy Caboni invited students, faculty and staff to a “Hilltopper Family Fall Gathering” on Tuesday inside the Commons at Helm Library. This event encouraged people to come together and reflect on the past year on the Hill, according to WKU’s website Fall treats and apple cider were also provided to attendees.

Jace Lux, director of media relations and WKU’s spokesperson, said that last year, WKU did a similar event to the “Hilltopper Family Fall Gathering,” but it was only for faculty and staff. Lux said opening the event to students was Caboni’s idea this year to create something for the entire campus to enjoy

SGA passes 4 bills at weekly meeting

The WKU Student Government Association held its last meeting of the semester on Tuesday, where senators approved the passage of four bills

Bill 16-24-F allotted funding to the Office of the Dean of Students to help purchase 40 meal vouchers for Fresh Food Company The money will come from the Legislative Discretionary Fund

The Office of the Dean of Students has a program that offers vouchers to students in need and is funded solely through donations

Bill 17-24-F allocates $500 to the Office of Sustainability to help replenish the food and resource pantry.

WKU Men’s Basketball will look to make it three wins in a row Wednesday, as they host the Jackson State Tigers at Diddle Arena

After falling in their first two games against Wichita State and Grand Canyon, the Hilltoppers rebounded with back-to-back wins against Campbellsville and Lipscomb to get to 2-2 on the season.
