To the first issue of “Oh For Goodness Cakes�, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and spent a lot of time doing festive baking with the family! Did any family members buy you new baking accessories and you are not sure what do bake? Well if so, you have come to the right place, we have new creative baking activities that will thrill your taste buds and make use of those accessories like double chocolate muffins covered in fruit toppings (page 22). We have also put a twist on the traditional Victoria sponge and added fruit slices that contribute to your five a day. As you know we are a new issue, which means new baking ideas! The New Year is here, and we would like to get your festive baking buds up to scratch. Hopia (page 33) originates from the Chinese New Year festival so come along and learn how to create this and celebrate the New Year in style! This time of year is very gloomy, so we have brightened your week up by adding a whole page on were to go (page 9), to bake cakes to fulfil your imaginative minds! You can watch your design techniques grow and blossom which will bring light back to your life. We have also added a step-by-step page on how to create floral icing which we hope will inspire you, there is a minimum of five projects varying in all different abilities so there will be one definitely for you! I would also like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has shared their inspirations and stories with us and have given us a hope and encouragement. A huge thank you to my production team and for all the people who have supported the magazine. I hope you enjoy the first ever issue and exited for what we have in-store. We will be working on new ideas throughout all issues and will be hosting cake competitions that you could entre and maybe win. Bring on the cake comp 2014!
